  1. While I have no problems with my crew doing my gathering and crafting for me, I am starting to feel a little empty not having any non-combat abilities or skills for my toon. Honestly I don't know where to begin, but I read up on how SWG let players do things like dancing, music, and even making quests. I'm not saying TOR should copy that exactly, however it would be cool if we got to do more than fight and talk. Don't get me wrong, I'm enjoying this game immensely! I'm thrilled about 1.2. What do you folks think? What would work or not work? If we can brainstorm together and come up with some nice ideas, then perhaps we could make a thread worthy of BioWare's attention. Please try not to be rude or confrontational. If you want to leave negative commentary, you're more than welcome to but please keep it clean and constructive! I'll contribute a suggestion of my own: Droid Repair/Customization Basically your character would be able to modify droids, whether it's your own or someone else's, or you could construct your droids. Granted this would mean that droids in game would have to be expanded on, but I think it would be fun! Even though I would love playable droids, I would settle for crafting/modifying droids as companions, pets or tools.
  2. If this has been suggested before, then I'm sorry for posting this. It would be a big convenience, both in terms of credits and time, if our abilities scaled with our levels rather than having to learn new ranks each time. It's not a problem going to the trainer to learn new abilities in and of itself, but having to learn new ranks of already known abilities is very old-school and silly. That's my suggestion.
  3. It hasn't happened to me, but it would be naive to think that SWTOR is free of begging. I'm really curious if any of you have been begged for the following: 1) Has anyone begged you for credits? 2) Have any low-level players begged you to run them through low-level flash points? 3) Has anyone begged you to join their group or guild? How do you handle those situations if and when they occur?
  4. It's all good. You're right! Nothing personal! Anyway, let's carry out this dicussion in another topic like you said! Sorry for almost hijacking this topic! As for the Battlemaster discussion, I have no opinion on the matter. I will bow out. Take care!
  5. Okay, fair enough. I was wrong and I'm sorry. You're right though, I was on the defensive and went overboard with my post. Flashpoints and operations aren't content that we're interested in. Why does that matter? Who cares? We'll play CORPG style if we want, since BioWare clearly doesn't have a problem with it. Why should we do content we don't care about? There's more content beyond running dungeons and raids. There's no rule saying we have to do that content. Let's leave our non-issue at this: I'll play my way and you'll play yours! Also I'm not entirely against competitive content being added, but I hope BioWare balances, or attempts to balance, competitive and casual content. In other words, I hope there is never going to be a TOR Cataclysm if you catch my drift!
  6. I'm not entirely solo, buddy. I play with my two brothers. That's all the multi-player that I need! We group up for world activities. That's good enough for me! Also it's only fair that I give competitive players a taste of their own medicine, since players like me are insulted on a regular basis. We're even. Also I did update my original post and pointed out that my bros and me do warzones. Is that multiplayer enough for you? It should be! And look, it's nothing personal but I had to get that out of my system. Good luck with whatever epic grouping achievements you aim for!
  7. Exactly! I wholeheartedly agree. I've turned off all my chats and blocked all invites. The only people that I talk to are my brothers, who are the only two people on my friends list. We play this game for fun, not for competition. Personally I hope that BioWare doesn't listen too much (ideally not at all) to the "e-sport" crowd. They should take this game in a sandbox direction, not a competitive one. Activities like exploration, questing, crafting, customization, space combat, world events, world bosses and world PvP could use more love. Sure I may get flamed for this comment, but so what. I love this game as it is as do my brothers. For the record, you so-called "competitive gamers" can keep your elite loot, rankings and achievements. BioWare should throw you scraps from time to time just to shut you up (aka more "e-peen" garbage). All I hope is that your demands for more competitive content doesn't cut into my solo and casual content. Addendum: I must also add that my brothers and me don't do flashpoints or operations. We avoid them like the plague. We do warzones, but we could care less about rankings and whatnot. The joy comes from killing other players, not winning or being the best!

    I'll play them both!
  9. I'm taking my time leveling and enjoying it. When I played WoW, I never looked forward to questing like I do in this game. I actually feel immersed in it! I don't know what end game is like, but I don't care. I'll judge for myself if there's a lack of things to do.
  10. Star Wars lore has many plot holes and retcons. Why should this gameplay addition matter in light of that? Personally I welcome this change! If this were Lord of the Rings Online, then the lore argument would hold water, but this is Star Wars we're talking about. Like hell will I ever take it seriously! If I want to be a Twi'lek trooper, then god dammit I'll play one! Plus it's more content to work with. At least they're adding these new race/class combos via a patch rather than an expansion, which is awesome in my opinion.
  11. Yeah, I know Hutts are out of the question. It would be so cool though! I'd settle for weird humanoid races like Rodians, Mon Calamari, Ortalans, Wookiees, Sullustans, Duros, Ithorians, Gamorreans, Aqualish, and even droids (in my opinion) would be cool. I hope they do that someday. I'm just going off of what others have said that BioWare will only add human-like races that speak Basic.
  12. ...here is a list of Near-Human species to ogle at: http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Near-Human#Others I really wish BioWare would consider giving us the option to play weirder and more exotic species, but I guess that sadly will never happen. What I would give to play as a droid, a Hutt or even an Ortalan! However I guess you could say in addition to Near-Humans we will get more human-like humanoids similar to the Twi'lek. That's fine by me as long as they're more exotic like the Togruta.
  13. I went with Twi'lek since I like that race and they're the most exotic one in my opinion. I actually made my Twi'lek Jedi Consular a fat guy, since I think it's refreshing to not be a muscle-bound guy for once.
  14. Does it really matter, friend? I'll play my way and you play your's.
