  1. I am also a die hard shadow dps, have been since around launch. The way I used to think about a shadow's role in a NiM op (and the way I made myself feel better about the low dps #s) is that having a bursty dps is clutch for a lot of boss mechanics (especially in TFB). 2-shotting Kelsara's DG adds, taking out a regulator, putting as much hurt on Op IX as possible in between shields, putting up 60-80k damage in 3 hits on Kephess, or burning hypergate irregularities and oddities; these are moments when the shadow shines above all other classes. In fact, I've found that the more complicated a fight (when the window to do dps on the boss is shortest), the more likely I am to be at the top of my group for damage done to the boss. Having said that, if you don't have a gunslinger or sentinel putting up those big big #s to offset your weak dps in more traditional fights then it's going to be rough. I like to think I know this class pretty well, and at my best I can parse barely above target dps on a dummy. Add an armor debuff and an inspiration and the #s look a lot better, but in an actual boss fight the #s drop back down to barely above target. So unless you're absolutely perfect, you're not going to make target dps. Many of the best ops groups have a shadow in their lineup, so obviously there is still a place for us in NiM progression if your group knows what they're doing. But I just took my shadow out of a progression group with 2 commandos and a guardian dps (all of us averaging 2500s) because we couldn't even get Writhing Horror down.
  2. Hello JC rep guilds, I'm Anthrobeau from Chosen Order. I noticed Templars had some success on the Imp side merging with guilds who were in the same boat and I thought we could try something similar on the Rep side. Chosen Order is a small, close-knit group that has played together for over a year (shout out to Hanharr). We are consistent with progression content, but keep things casual since most of us have kids, careers, etc. We take a lot of pride in being a mature, consistent, and experienced team, and we want to keep the relaxed but focused atmosphere going. HMTFB/S&V on farm (running ops 3-4 nights a week 9pm-12 EST), though we recently lost 3 of our members to RL changes, so NiM progression has been spotty. We would love to merge with a similar guild (or guilds) to fill out at least 2 progression groups, not to mention World Boss and PvP groups. We are all easy to get along with and would love to find more friendly mature players to welcome to the team. If you would be interested in a possible merger please reach out to me in game (Anthrobeau or Bispater) or on the forums. Good luck and I hope to meet some of you soon!
  3. It would be nice if there was an operations test dummy that allowed you to use your dispatch (high damage ability that requires the target to be below 30% health) in your rotation. It's difficult to figure out an optimal DPS rotation otherwise.
  4. Still nothing. Submitted another ticket in game, got the same stock answer. Still no response here in the forums. This has got to be the easiest bug to fix since no one else seems to have the same problem. Just delete ticket #6523691 from my CSHR log and everyone wins! This is driving me crazy, it's like having a scratch on the roof of your mouth.
  5. My CSHR que is always green. I have an old ticket that continues to display the green "update" graphic despite the fact that it has been closed for a while. I've written multiple tickets about this, and submitted bug reports in the past but nothing has happened after they were kicked up. I'm hoping to at least get some acknowledgement here in the forums because I'm tired of hearing "write a bug report" or "we will send this on to the dev team and you won't hear anything else about it". Thanks in advance,
  6. Something came up IRL, I won't be there. I'll definitely be around next weekend if you get this going again.
  7. I can tank or dps on Anthrobeau (lvl 55 Shadow). I need 1 more kill for my coral.
  8. We are looking to fill 2 DPS spots full time for our casual progression group, as well as putting together a second ops group for 16-man content. I say "casual" because most of us have families and careers, and we probably won't have a server first to our name any time soon. But we learn new content quickly and have the hardest operations on farm shortly after their release. We value consistency and a willingness to work well with the group above all, but we have come to expect a lot from each other after playing together for over a year. Therefore, please message me via the forums or ingame on the rep side (Anthrobeau) for more information if you are highly skilled, motivated to fine-tune your class/role, and can play nice. Our op times are Tues/Thurs/Sun from 9:15pm to around midnight EST, but we often run together every night on alts. Oh, incidentally, we have a lot to offer by way of guild tabs (6), stims (massive stockpiles), voice chat, and crafted mods (I think we can craft all Arkanian gear now, except a few hilts), if that's appealing to you.

  11. I agree with the majority of the posts in this thread: forcing users to spend real dollars for specific titles and items is a terrible idea. It not only excludes based on real life socio-economics, but it doesn't feel like it's in keeping with the spirit of the game. SWTOR is already running dangerously close to a system in which the best gear/titles can be bought almost instantaneously with real dollars. When $ rules, you downgrade any skill and teamwork needed to "earn" the best gear, items, trophies, etc. and take away from players sense of accomplishment, and therefore fun. This latest addition to the reputation system is just unnecessary. If you're open to feedback then please add a way for people to earn cartel certificates and reputation without having to spend cartel coins.
  12. I read most of this thread, and thought there was something missing from this discussion. I apologize if this has already been addressed. While simulations may prove the relative weight each stat should be given, deciding on actual pieces of gear presents unique choices. For instance, it may be better to go for a mod with 53 WP and 41 Power instead of 61 WP and 11 crit. Since it's theoretically possible to have 30 extra power by sacrificing 8 WP (per mod), is it better to stack power?
