  1. Hey there! 🦕 Quick update: We're looking for 1T 1D to out Rep side beginner-friendly VM OPs prog group. We're casual and nice and very intrested in a person who would fit our community. Raiding days are Monday and Wednesday, 20:30-23:00 CET. The team is currently doing Ravagers and, when we have lockouts, Watchdog in R4. We would strongly prefer a player with limited or even none raiding experience over Nim raiders (we feel that latter could find a better suited opportunities). Bonus points if you can join us on 16man VM runs that we throw in on occasional week Wed/Sun. As well as any other runs, really. Requirements: - have patience, and mindset to improve - know your class, have tactical and implants - be able to join and talk in voice chat How to reach us and ask more question: contact #Daxel0526 on Discord or hop right in https://discord.gg/j5fN2Ek (please note you have to say something in doorstep channel to be granted access)
  2. Hey! An update on our guild, both our Rep and Imp sides now have full bonus, free-for-all-to-decorate-Strongholds, large yield every week and perks for different types of activity (Flashpoints/crafting/GSF/Warzones). We are running a few SM OPs every week and planning to do Vet Mode as well as soon as we have enough people ready. We are, as always, looking for friends to join our team and we provide very supportive environment for those who are interested in learning something new (e.g. go for a new role or ease into OPs or try a different sort of activity). Join us, we are cute. See the link to our Discord server in the previous post.
  3. Hey guys, 3 weeks ago we created a new Social guild <The Great Gizka> because frankly, we got tired of all the promises of a "nice friendly place" that were not quite true. TGG was created to provide us all a sustainable friendly space where every voice is heard and everyone, no matter the rank, is treated with respect. We are small and cute and looking for more friends to join our team. Casual players are offered some group activities but calm and quiet leveling is absolutely acceptable too. New or returning players are provided with support and helpful tips and guides. We are also looking for people who have a passion for building/improving things and who would want to become an officer. In TGG you will have a place to try new ideas and organize things. We've also just started the Imperial faction of our guild, <The Grisly Gizka>. Our Discord is here: https://discord.gg/cjTRatJ
  4. I might be a weird person of this story. Returning player here, after years of dps I decided to give tanking a try. Grouped up with a buddy (new player who only ever tanked and now was learning how to dd), and we ran our new shadows for a couple of HS, which went well. Now we are lvl 22, everything seems fine, so we decide to give it a try and queue in GF - we get Athiss, a 75lvl Sage healer and lvl 21 dps I think was a Sent. We log in, I let sage show me directions, I quickly taunt when needed, and trying to be a good tank to the best of my few abilities. We clear the first boss smoothly, and get to the corner of the ruins where you need to go through 2 elites and some trash around. Unfortunately, before the fp I'd just received my group taunt and that was when I decided to use it. I honestly didn't know that I will get the attention of all the mobs around us. Second dps dies and disconnects to never appear again. The healer didn't manage to save my sorry butt and we wipe. Now she becomes extremely annoyed and starts lecturing me on how she got one of the elites on cc and that I shouldn't break the cc when somebody applies it! I apologize a couple of times, explain the situation but she keeps going that if I don't know something then I have to ask for help. Now, condescendence really rubs me the wrong way, but I am trying to respond nicely, compliment her healing skills and we proceed. Our second dps doesn't reappear, the healer initiates the kick, then she demands that I queue us, despite that she's the group leader. When I point it out, she sais that she couldn't queue, but it's fine and we can do it 3-man. Well... Now, my buddy who's new to dps role is asking what the hell is cc to begin with, I explain it to him, the healer marks the cc, I mark the elite I'm focusing on (just to make sure I understand correctly) and..... during the fight my buddy runs away into a group of mobs, breaks the cc of elite and runs it all into healer before I can do anything (my taunt is on cd, and group taunt, as we'd covered, would attract more mobs from nearby). Healer dies horribly. Now she's really pissed, leaves to the fleet and from there starts raving on how stupid I am to do the same mistake twice. My buddy tries to explain that it was his fault but she's not having any of it! Her last words before leaving the group were "and having two tanks in a vet mode is a big mistake anyway!". (Why she decided that my friend was in a tank spec, I have no idea.) But after all the toxic speeches, we decided not to make anyone else suffer from our incompetency. We pulled out our Quzens on heals and proceeded with both bosses nice and easy, not a single death. I truly understand that newbies can be an annoyance, but please, don't be like that. Personally, when I accept Vet run with a 20-something-lvl, I do not expect this player really know his class. I do Vet runs as a healer from time to time, not often - because it's a very stressful business. But I'd never expect good gaming, gear, class knowledge as a given. The chances are totally random.
  5. So I’d got bored of running all my watchman sentinels and started on a Commando healer. I’ve run Esseles twice and – guess what, rumors were true - behind the backs of melee dps there’s a whole new world! Both runs were very far from what I’ve been expecting, especially the second one where I got two tanks and they were pulling non-stop in two different rooms. I had to run between them like a crazy mother hen. Do I need to add that between the fights they didn’t heal themselves, not even once? So, could you guys help me with basic rules for healers in FPs? (It may sound very noobish, but I really didn’t have time to look back and observe these things while I’ve played on my glass canon.) Like, what are you supposed to do when there are two tanks in the group (is it just an Esseles thing)? If dps runs away and gets agro from everyone like crazy do I have to run after him? Or if he’s in range, is he my priority to heal or it’s still the tank? How much damage do I need to put out so not to be a dead weight? Or I need to concentrate on healing first? I’m still lvl 13 so I guess any good resource-managing rotation is yet to come, but I really want to learn the very basics of healing in FPs now, so I enter mid-levels prepared. Also, what percentage of health I look for to start healing (as soon as damage is received or I wait for it to drop to 70-80%?) And would it be too much of a diva behavior asking my groupmates to heal between fights? Ok, that seems to be all for now. Any help will be much appreciated!
  6. Hey everyone! I'm not a shy person, but my english is not good enough to communicate freely and kill mobs at the same time. ) The constant switching between chatting with other players and dealing with my fight is not very easy concept fo me! So I managed to get to 50 lvl of my first character, Sentinel, without joining any guilds. But, as Artanisia said earlier, we roleplayers are social creatures, and I feel like I'm missing out. Anyways, I just wanted to say that i'll gladly join this guild. Most of the time I'm playing with my 50 lvl Sentinel (leaning to use dps rotations and not to be killed too often) - name's Daxel, though i have two other chars (both Republic) to level up.
