This happens in almost every game just as MMOs progress boss aoe gets bigger and harder hitting which phases out melee dps to mostly ranged dps over time..
It is inevitable as bosses get more hitpoints that harder hitting abilities come into play and because player health does not scale like boss health it makes pvp crazy.
As was done in WoW give bosses better resistance instead of 50 million more health and you won't need player abilities to hit for 30-50k
The prob is with mastery changes swtor has no
True pvp stat like in other games
Toughness,tenacity,voracity,,hardness,awareness,etc
That all pvp/PVE MMOs have to scale player on player damage
With pvp stats they can make every 1000 of such and such stat reduce player v player damage by 10% which doesn't affect PVE
