  1. Will BioWare and Star Wars: The Old Republic be officially sponsoring / participating in / creating a team for the Extra Life charity fundraising event October 20? (Extra Life is a 24-hour gaming marathon to raise money for local Children's Miracle Network Hospitals.)
  2. There's more to deploying a patch than just uploading it. First, they have to bring the servers down, then place them in a maintenance mode. Once in maintenance mode, they have to install the patch, which could take 30 minutes or more, per server. And this has to be done to every server. Then, once the install of the patch is complete, each server has to be tested to make sure the patch was properly deployed. If all goes well, the servers come back up early. If not (as was the case a couple days ago) maintenance gets extended. They give themselves extra time for maintenance in case of problems. More often than not, though, the servers are up before the end of the maintenance window.
  3. My suggestion would be to put it on one of your characters that you aren't planning on moving anyway. Or, if you are moving them all, just move your first character, create a new character, then transfer leadership to that character. That way, if all else fails, the guild is still established on the old server.
  4. Technically, they aren't transferring the guild bank, they are adding in the same number of tabs in your new server's guild bank that you had in your previous guild bank. The contents has to be removed and transported by individuals in the guild.
  5. The idea is to keep the guild from becoming leaderless when the leader moves. So, you either transfer leadership of the guild to another character (yours or someone else's that is staying on the server), or you disband the guild.
  6. A fairly reasoned response, amidst the detritus of this thread =). As a software developer, I fully understand BioWare's stance of giving some information without giving too much information. The problem is, if BioWare were to over-promise something, giving hard numbers, then encountered a last-minute glitch that kept that from happening (ie Ranked Warzones), it makes them look incompetent at best. And, even if they were to tell us that they were opening up 10 servers on the first day for transfer, US players would expect the lion's share of the servers to be on their side of the pond, while EU players would expect the same on their side. Even if they spelled out that there would be 4 servers from US and 6 servers from EU, everyone would expect their server to be somewhere on the list. They can only give out the information they have at a given moment. Was I surprised and a little disappointed that my server (Eidolon Security) wasn't among the first? Well, yeah. Does that mean I'm up-in-arms, the-sky-is-falling, "F2P csh shp 2 mn" mentality? No. Claiming a "gradual" increase was not purposefully misleading. Does BioWare know that we had certain expectations? Of course. Regardless of how they explained the process of starting with a small subset of servers and building up to the full server-transfer mechanism, someone, out of the millions of subscribers, would be disappointed that their idea of "gradual" was not BioWare's idea of "gradual". To be honest, I don't think even BioWare knows when they will add the next set of servers to the list. Once the developers responsible for transfers are confident the system can handle additional load, they'll inform their superiors, who will then make the determination to add servers to the transfer list. In all likelyhood, we will probably see a new set of transfers open up tomorrow morning, if not tonight. EDIT: Oh, the irony.....I started this post before they opened up transfers, and by the time I posted, they had established more of them.
  7. It seems Eidelon Security may be experiencing the same issue as Hidden Beks with warzones not popping; guild mates have been in the 50s Warzone queue for more than 5 hours without a single one popping. Admittedly, it's a low population server anyway, but that seems a bit excessive. Disregard, it seems to just be a low population issue, not really a game issue.
  8. Vendor in Black k Hole sells several pieces of Legacy construction kits.
  9. It's a security measure to prevent scammers from buying a copy of the game, then referring themselves 25 times to get free throwaway accounts on which to spam their credit-selling sites. I think if you apply a Game Time card you can then invite a friend, otherwise you'll have to wait until your credit card is charged a subscription fee before sending invites. And might I suggest removing your email address from your post, especially if that's the email address you use to log into the game. Since you did post it, I'd highly suggest getting a new email address strictly for this game.
  10. Is your account set up to receive emails from SWTOR? If you aren't opted in to receive them, including marketing emails, it's entirely possible they didn't actually send you an email because you opted out of getting them. It's unfortunate that you missed the deadline for transfers, but they are working hard at getting the final transfer process in place. Whether that will be paid transfers or free, we don't yet know.
  11. You can toggle a companions auto-attack abilities by right-clicking the ability. When the green square is gone, the companion will never use that skill unless you manually activate the ability.
  12. It depends on your level. At level 1, it's about roughly 35%. At level 46ish, it's about 20%.
  13. Your friendly neighborhood Cybertech or random quest rewards. Also, with Legacy Level 7 and 1 million credits to your name you can unlock your ship's Astromech, who sells sensor units for your shipboard droid that benefits crafting.
  14. You can change the box size and position, but you cannot, alas, change the position of abilities on the companion's toolbar.
  15. To expand on this, there are trainers on nearly every planet you go to, close to where you first arrive on the planet. You'll never need to go to the fleet just to train skills while you are on leveling planets.
