  1. I have to admit I don't really care for the overall feel of the community. I have encountered several players that have been just down right mean and I just don't understand why. Its a game so lighten up! Just earlier today I saw a whole gathering of this guild on Balmorra and I said with /s "What do you people think this is? This is a war zone not a f* convention center :)" I was totally being sarcastic and such, hence the , and two of the players cussed me out and were just down right mean. WTH? This isn't the only example either but people in this game just seem rude and such. Lighten up!
  2. I must admit many of your stories are hilarious. I recently left a guild, with due cause, because they raid at times that doesnt work for me at all. Most of the folks live in PST and I live in Denver. So they are an hour behind and able to play later at night, which is totally kool. I know these other two guys and myself have a conversation one day with the GM about pushing the raids up earlier by one hour. A week later, I simply followed up with the Lt GM about whether or not the GM had discussed it with the rest of the guild. It started a f* sh** storm craziness, I was getting chewed out for even suggesting we raid earlier, this Lt GM got all mad started telling me off in Guild chat, while two of the other Guild members started whispering me telling me to **** or calm the f* down, I didnt even get a chance to respond and was like f* this Im out. Literally, all of this happened so fast I was like spinning around wildly in my office chair here. Honestly, this Lt GM said stuff that was just mean, she started telling me I wasnt good enough to be raiding with the guild anyways, that I didnt know sh** about SWTOR (like its been out for years and years and shes some sort of original player and I just f* started), etc, etc. Actually, I expected me leaving the guild would create a whole uproar of crap and I would be receiving hate mail and such. But to my surprise I have not received any hate mail at all.

Sometimes I just dont understand what people are doing. The other day on the Alderaan WZ these two guys were up in the rafters or whatever you call them above the center gun but 1) made no effort to take the gun and 2) never prevented the enemy from capturing the gun. I was like *** are you people doing? Hiding so you dont die up in the rafters is totally worthless to the team, please log out. A lot of the time, I feel like I explain the strategy before the game started and people dont listen. Like the Old Sith Warship, I tell people remember fight at the doors, dont let them pull you away from the doors, if someone is planting the bomb attack them forget the current target and I see like half the team fighting it out in the center between the two start points. I reiterate the strategy again and then theres the whole outcry of players say we f* got it, or back the f* off, or ****, all that. Well clearly you dont f* got it as you are continuing to fight in the middle or whatever. Again, I just find it sooo frustrating that people dont listen. If you dont know what to do, ok that is completing understandable, but when someone tells you exactly what to do, just do it or log out!
  4. Id also have to say as long as people can turn on and off the various chat channels who cares if people really do spam or troll. It doesnt matter because if you dont like it and you can turn that channel off then BAM theres the solution.

Whew I have got to learn not to get so angry about the WZs. I have to admit I hate losing over and over again because people dont listen and dont understand how to play on the various fields. For those of you that I have snapped at I apologize. God its just a game and it gets me soooo fired up!
  6. Anyone have any good guild drama stories they want to share? Doesnt have to be limited to SWTOR. I had a bit the other day and after the fact they are the stupidest things ever and I love the stories. I have played many MMORPGs and never stayed long in any guild unless I made it with RL friends. How about you?
  7. Hi all, I just finished my second day of PVPing in the Warzones with my 50 Trooper. Now I'm a healer and an experienced MMO player and I recognize the fact that many people aren't; so I would like to take this opportunity to share some tips and pointers for those of you that have limited experience with PVP. I apologize in advance if this is a rant but its important for people to understand basic PVP tactics in order to be a valuable member of a Warzone; otherwise, your just a burden and hinder to those that want to win. I'll start off with sharing some stories and things I have witnessed thus far. I played two rounds on Alderaan and one on the Sith warship that's round based. On Alderaan, both times I saw the majority of player run solo into a group of 5 or 6 Sith and get killed almost immediately. On the Sith warship, I saw people run all over the place and get picked off one by one by a vastly superior Sith party. I hope, based on my just outlining the situations here, you can see the serious tactical mistakes of these players. Now I usually wont both explaining them in detail here, but since in the three rounds I played tonight, the majority of the players on my side did the same things. First of all on Alderaan, if you see a group of 5 or 6 Sith don't run in there and attempt to defeat them solo, wait for a group of your own team to join you before running in. This type of map is very common in many MMOs and other online based games (Battlefield series). Sending people one at a time into a group of enemy players is foolish and a complete waste of time. In one match, we lost with the other team having 475 HP left. That is just plain pathetic. I seriously spent ten minutes watching 6 different players run into the center one at a time to be utterly massacred by 5 or 6 Sith players. Each of these players continued this exact same tactic for the entire game. What's the definition of insanity? Doing the same thing over and over again expecting different results... On the Sith warship, it is of vital importance that all of the players remain together to achieve whatever the goal is (bypass the doors, plant the bombs, etc). Spreading out to different areas of the launch bay doesn't do anyone any good. Everyone must stay grouped to together and focus on the same task. Exploring the room your in doesn't exactly help your team win. Lastly, it is also important to focus on killing the healers first. Everyone all the players need to gang up on the healers and everyone must focus on one player at a time. This is very similar to the idea of FPs and Ops. Everyone needs to focus on the same target to bring it down faster. If everyone pairs up against one enemy player at a time then it all comes down to which ever player has the best armor and which team gets the first kill with the +1 advantage. Thank you, Kelcan
  8. This is the abstract from my resent academic article published in "The Republic and Galactic History" "I must admit I find the Mandalorians to be one of the most interesting and appealing races in the known galaxy. Since their original invasion of Onderon and other worlds, I have found myself almost obsessed with understanding their culture and being completely fascinated by their way of life. I am not entirely convinced that the Mandalorian people, originally a race of all humans, would actually join the Sith Empire. Unlike is common belief in the Galactic Republic, the Mandalorian people are not inherently evil. Although, during the Mandalorian Wars, the Mandalorians committed numerous atrocities, these atrocities were committed in an attempt to draw out the Jedi. We know now that the Jedi Council knew of the Mandalorians attempt to specifically draw them out and refused until the Jedis Revan and Malak, later turned into Dark Jedis (as the true Sith had been exiled from known space), lead a large following of Jedis to confront the Mandalorians on the Outer Rim. It is important that you must understand that the Mandalorian people believe growth (cultural, personal, etc) comes from conflict. It is their most important goal to fight against what they perceive as the most powerful, resourceful, or strongest competitors in the known galaxy. The Mandalorians found a worthy and compatible competitor in Revan, Malak, and all of the other Jedis that followed them to confront the Mandalorians. It is my firm belief that Mandalorians feel neither bitterness nor hatred toward the Jedi Council nor the Republic for defeating them during the Mandalorian Wars, which ended on Malachor V. In fact, based on the history and love/need of combat of the Mandalorian people they have great respect for the both the Republic and Jedi that did oppose them in the Outer Rim. Since the true Sith were believed to be extinct, for thousands of years as they built up their forces in secret beyond the Outer Rim, there is no way that the Mandalorians have ever been able to challenge themselves against them (the Sith). The Sith, as the victors of the last war that ended after the sacking of Courscant, became the dominate empire in the known galaxy. Therefore, it is logical to assume that the Mandalorians would challenge themselves against this new foe as opposed to joining them to fight against the Republic. Think about it logically from the perspective of the Mandalorian people, what else can be learned from the Republic or the Jedi in combat? Both are severely wounded and are barely recovering from the devastating Sith invasion. I do not believe that the Mandalorian people would fight against the Sith Empire to protect the Republic or the Jedi but simply to test themselves against a new and more powerful foe than either the Galactic Republic or the Jedi Order. As I stated above, the Mandalorian people are not inherently evil or wish to see the utter demise of the Galactic Republic or the Jedi Order; therefore, their end goals are incompatible with the Sith Empire and the "alliance", if we can even call it that, will not last indefinitely."
