  2. I wish I could find amusement in the experience that people who throw around the word "respect" the most, are often the least likely to use it themselves.
  3. I just discovered this thread, after posting about the same issue elsewhere. My original post was about the option being made available in the CM, and I apologize if my points have already been made in this thread. I just want to re-post it here because I strongly support the idea of recustomization and want to add to this collective voice: ---- For anyone against this simply on the principle of not padding EA's revenue, please note that you have the option of avoiding that particular purchase. Although, if it's not also made an option in-game, then I agree that complaint is validated. Does anyone remember Image Design (plastic surgery) as a class in Star Wars Galaxies? If I recall correctly, it was an actual class choice and not even a crafting skill. You could usually find one so that alone shold be a testament toward how popular appearance changes can be in an MMO. But pertaining to a Cartel Market option, I have a level 20 Mercenary that I am considering re-rolling just so I can change her eye color. Spending real money to do it instantly is reasonable to me in exchange for the time saved re-leveling, so I would welcome the option to do this through the Cartel Market. In game or out, it's always going to be a popular feature in any MMO.
  4. This is, in part, a fault of society at large. The word "accountable" has been lost from modern day vocabulary.

  6. I see this response used in every discussion on this topic; it doesn't answer the question fully - WHY would people jump on the opportunity to behave like complete jerks? If the answer is just "because they can" ... that is a very distressing commentary about people in general.
  7. Ironically your response proves the point of the poster you quoted.
  8. Except, other MMO's have already gotten around this and character names are not unique in those games. It just requires linking the character names to an ID, or account handle.
  9. Okay, but ... if the cash-stop has been added in as an additional revenue stream for BioWare over and beyond ALL players, that's one thing. Yet the F2P system received a lot of marketing as being a way for BioWare to draw in new subscribers, not to increase revenue from existing ones. Forcing full on subscribers to pay for new content above and beyond their monthly P2P investment, seems kind of low. After all, what on earth is our subscription money supposed to be paying for?
  10. I'd like to know as well - it's what stopped me from purchasing the Twi-lek unlock (I only have Legacy 9).
  11. Socialist, I don't want post this as any kind of argument against you, because I believe you have a valid concern here. But I'm fairly sure the Cartel Coins are a perk of an active subscription; basically a "perk" of paying monthly designed to offset the need to pay for content only available through micro-transaction. I could be wrong as I haven't really read much on this - someone can correct me here if so.
  12. There is a distinct mis-use of terminology throughout this thread that persists; it's the common element driving this argument page after page. Nobody is a customer until they have paid for a subscription or made purchases in the cash-stop. If you haven't done either, you aren't actually a customer. Which makes any complaints about said service moot. Many people have made it obvious they do not want to even make simple purchases in the cash-stop (i.e. quickbars for $3), yet make a lot of complaints about being mishandled customers. I suggust playing with what's available for a short while and when you are ready to step up the experience, start cherry-picking what you need and don't need. And then you will be able to make suggestions to BioWare to better your experience going forward.
  13. Seconded. This is all getting a little silly. Here's the bottom line - SWTOR is owned and run by a company which is free to make it's product available to the public in any way which they choose. I empathize with those people who can't justify a subscription for personal reasons, and completely understand the frustration experienced by players who interpreted the F2P model differently than what it is. But it's really not a democracy - not in this case. This leaves the equation a simple matter of taking advantage of the model that HAS been given, or just pay the full subscription fee and wash away all issues for yourself. I think instead of a general appeal to lift restrictions, it would be more reasonable to list specific restrictions that are turning players off (which is being done by some in other threads). For example, the quickbar issue really does seem to be a bit over the top - and I completely agree that needs to be revisited by BioWare.
