  1. You can't speak for all MMOs and their preference of class changing. SWG among others allowed you to class change. I do regret my decision but perhaps I won't have to deal with it. It's up to Bioware. This is a nice quote from SR in December talking about it not being planned atm but it (along with anything else in MMOs) could be in the future.
  2. Thanks for the responses! Well, I'd have to say with the system I'd like to see, I don't see how someone could accidently switch if it were a paid service (logging into swtor.com account and paying $25 for it with confirmation and everything). People complain about everything... Everything. There's nothing that will be put in the game that nobody will complain about. It's up to the company to stick with whatever system they would introduce to prevent abuse. They don'y give us every little thing we want. Look at Group Finder. It's coming in 1.3 and it's been said for the longest time that they weren't interested in such a tool (especially cross server) due to the potential effects on the community, But they're bringing their own form of Group Finder in that I'm sure will be great! With that, I'm sure that they'd figure a way to introduce this system without it "ruining the game" as some players like to put it.
  3. I understand where you're coming from. But that's why I think there should be a lengthy CD on it. Not so much only limited to X amount of AC changes but only allowed to AC change once every three months. This kills potential FotM and with it being known that it's such a lengthy CD, it would be encouraged that you don't just blindly make the switch. Test it out, ask questions, look things up about the AC you're interested in before committing to the switch. Because if you blindly switch, you may just end up with a toon you don't like for 3 months.
  4. Hello all. I know this has been a popular topic for some time now and it seems the community is split on it but I'd just like to drop my two credits in. I'd like to see AC change put into the game because I'm a player that likes to only play 1 character and collect everything on that character. I've always been that way in MMOs (as in life I suppose as well ). I chose to be a Sorcerer due to my past experiences of ranged caster classes in games. I've been playing my Sorcerer since day 1 of early access and haven't stopped since. I just feel like I made the wrong choice and that statement is backed by me talking with a lot of Assassins and making one on the PTS to see how I felt about it. I absolutely love Assassin! Now I seem to regret my decision of picking Sorcerer. I say that because he has everything including things you can't get anymore in game. That's the kicker for me because I do try to collect everything and I'm not one for playing alts so the solution of just leveling another toon isn't really for me. So I'm hoping that AC change will, at some point, be introduced as it would more than solve my problem! Of course this is a delicate discussion and a main argument of AC change is the fear of "FotM" classes and such. I for one think that AC change should be a paid character service with perhaps a CD. Say a $25 (whatever dollar amount) service with a 3 month CD to prevent abuse. First of all, I don't think too many people would be banging out $25 every other day so the cost should, for the most part, put abuse to a halt. The CD would ensure it. That's not the only solution though. I could very well be an in-game service paid for with credits but still with a hefty CD to prevent abuse. I think I read somewhere in the forums that someone was suggesting a quest you could do that would reward you in an AC change. I actually think that's cool! I personally see this as a paid character service though. I just hope some form of it is introduced. I love this game and I just want to love and have as much fun as possible playing the toon I would enjoy the most. Thanks everyone!
  5. This is just wrong to me. I don't usually reply to posts like this but I felt I needed to throw my two credits in... You ARE coming off unsatisfied and greedy =\ This post, in whole, is about how you aren't satisfied with with end-game and how you want more things in game because you think as a "Founder" you deserve it. I followed this game's development for years and was anxiously awaiting testing. I got to test twice and I couldn't be more thankful for it. I was so glad to be a part of the development process and give my input on how the game was coming. Within a few hours of getting the email about the release date and pre-ordere, I grabbed up two CEs (one for my fiance as well [yes, it's true. Girls do play! ]). We've both been nothing but excited about the game and when we learned that we'd be able to play in early access before launch, we were ecstatic. We've played non-stop since. We never expected anything like a "Founder" title but it was more than enough. What I got for being a "Founder" was playing the game before launch and getting a head start, being a part of the very beginning of the game and in a few years from now saying "yeah, I was there. It was crazy haha! We had these giant car speeders that we about as wide as the fleet stairs! lol", AND I got a unique title. That's more than I want or need. You should be a little more appreciative.
  6. Hello all. I was wondering if anything has been said about Merc ever getting an interrupt. I've looked pretty deep into and I just can't find anything on it so I figured I'd post here. Perhaps someone has seen, read, or heard something I haven't I'm sure I understand WHY we don't have one given that we have heals, 60 sec cc, nice aoe, 4 sec stun, etc. (basically a bit of all the classes) but I'm an interrupt monster and I feel so naked without it. This isn't a "gimmie gimmie gimmie!" post either, I'd just like to know if anyone has heard anything on it. I'd honestly trade one of those things above for an interrupt Thanks all!
  7. Hi there, I'm a collector of about all things (have been in many MMOS ) and I'm excited about being able to afford all of the soon to be removed speeders, but the crystals are another problem. I'm worried that I won't end up with enough credits to grab up all of these cystals so I was wondering if anything has been said about these crystals ever coming back at some point after 1.2 or will they be gone forever? Any info is greatly appreciated. Thanks so much!
  8. I plan on it, in time. But I've not read about a "Praxon" model that's going away in 1.2. Just looking for any info on that.
  9. Thanks for that info. Would anyone know which "Praxon" model is being removed? I haven't read anything on that. The only models I know are being removed are "Sovereign", "Prince", "Baron", "Commander" and "Prime". If there's more than that, I'd love to know. I'm a collector and I want to ensure I get them all before they go poof. Thanks!
  10. Hey there, I was hoping to get a few simple questions answered as there is some confusion with the post about the 1.1.5 speeder changes. 1 - As far as the Empire goes, there are only 4 speeders being removed: ‘Prince’, 'Baron', 'Commander', and 'Prime'. Correct? 2 - Will these speeders be at a discount price in 1.1.5? 3 - Are these speeders being removed in 1.2?
  11. I was actually discussing this with my fiance last night and I had the thought that if they were to give us "new abilities", they would be along the lines of mirrored abilities from your mirrored class on the opposite faction. For example: An Inquisitor with "Project" in place of "Shock" and vice versa. This would give us a better range of aesthetics to go along with our dark and light sided characters while still maintaining the same abilities but only with a different visual effect. It would make a dark side Consular feel more dark using lightning instead of debris. It's an interesting idea and I think it fits well with what was said about "new abilities" without actually giving us anything "new".
  12. This is my biggest concern at the moment. I have a low level Inquisitor alt that I want to level SO bad but I'm discouraged because if Legacy presents new race / class combos, I may want to go that route. My issue is that I believe Inquisitor would be my main toon but I don't want to put that time into it if I'm just going to re-roll it a few months from now. It would be nice if we knew if we'd be allowed to switch our current race to one of our newly unlocked races or not. That would be a deciding factor in holding off or leveling this much wanted alt. For now, I'm holding off on leveling him. But it's a little upsetting that the only thing I want to play right now is the very thing I'm not letting myself play due to lack of information. Because, let's face it... A Miraluka Sorcerer is WAY TOO COOL!
  13. Community > Elitists That's my short answer on the usual result of tools like damage meters and how it effects the community. For an individual damage meter I'd say 5 stars so that you can monitor your specific damage and use it as a tool for tweaking if so desired. As far as monitoring other players' dps.... No.
