  1. Doesn't matter anyhow. No same sex romance options yet
  2. In WoW reaching the level cap is where the game begins. In SWTOR its where it ends
  3. keep the playing field level. Everyone has the same interface now and the skill of a player is down to how best he uses it. Plus it's a pain in the baside having to reinstall loads of addons every time the game is patched.
  4. If bioware can spare the time to give me a warning for using the word arse on the forum why can't they take a little time to comment on some of the issues people are complaining about. E.g. as I type it appears that the last patch is bugged and people cant get online. Have we had a comment for BW?
  5. And I bet you think irony is a thing mostly made of iron
  6. Why do we want mods and add-ons? All they do is force everyone down a single path and remove the fun in experimenting with different play styles to find the best options. Once you theory craft a game and make it so there’s no need to experiment then that’s the end of the game for me. I remember when you never saw two of the same class characters wearing the same gear or using the same play style in vanilla wow. Everyone was making their own decisions and not let some logarithm do it for them
  7. The worst manifectation of this problem for me is when trying to interupt. This is a very time critical skill. You have to wait for your target to start casting and because interupt doesnt cancel any cast you are aleady channeling you then have to move to cancel anything your already doing and hit the interupt button. Any delay and you miss the interupt. In later game and flashpoins this is a game killer.
  8. Khem Val very rarely dies now but I had to learn to use interupts properly. I find the gamer forces you to use the less obvious talents as you get higher levels. Interupting, reshielding, cc'ing. At the start you can just blast away and get through ok. Later you have to start to use your head.
  9. If I had a woman saying that to me every 5 mins I would be very happy. And any way. She would only be able to say it once. She's have her mouth full after that
  10. You dont have to got into pvp areas. If the OP had looked he wouldhave seen an alternative route that keeps you in your own territory. As someone has already said. Leveling should be difficult and brain taxing enough to keep the no hopers out.
  11. A word of warning If you remap your ‘jump’ key to something other than the space bar remember to ignore the load screen message to ‘press space bar to continue’ and press your newly mapped key instead. I spent ages wondering why I couldn’t get into the flashpoints and was just left at the load screen before I figured this one out
  12. I played WoW for 6 years. I knew the game inside out, which rotation to use to get the best dps/healing etc, where to get all the best gear, how to use crafting to make loads of gold. I had studies theory crafting and turned the game into a series of unquestionable requirements. No mystery, no doubt, no excitement in the end. I got bored not because the game was bad, Its not. It’s a brilliant achievement and head and shoulders above anything else out there. I got bored because there was nothing left to discover. I tried playing Rift but it was just too much of a WoW clone. All the predictability with none of the functionality of WoW. Now I’m playing SWTOR and I agree it’s not anywhere near as polished as WoW but it is different enough that it doesn’t feel like a clone and I can ignore its shortfalls while there is so much new stuff to learn. I don’t have the best gear, I haven’t figured out crafting properly, I haven’t decided how best to gear my companion or even which companion to use. I’m still experimenting with rotations and having to go by feel rather bash a target dummy then check recount. I love the fact that the game hasn’t been theory-crafted yet and that there are still things left to discover. The challenge for BW is to develop the game so that I will still want to play in 6 months time. By then I will have discovered and explored most of what the game has to offer. This is the point where the niggles that everyone, quite frankly is over reacting about now, will start to become an issue. I do hope BW doesn’t try to make a WoW clone though. Most of the complaints I see here are along the lines of. SWTOR doesn’t do this but WoW did. I don’t care about macro’s or add-ons or any of the crap that turned WoW into a geekfest and removed its soul. All these things are the same for everyone, you’re all dealing with the same limitations. The challenge now is to DISCOVER how to get the best performance and more importantly the most fun out of your game.
  13. I reached 50 yeaterday and when I went to my trainer was pleased to see a long list of trainable skills rather then the usual one or two you get in the previous levels. I just clicked accept for everything in the list. Switched to the force skills and started to click and accept only to realise I had no credits left. I had almost 400k so where did it all go. It went on speeder pilot 3 which I hadn't even noticed. Not sure how much it cost but it must have been about 300k. There really should be a way to sell the skill back to your trainer if you make this mistake. I lost all the credits i had managed to accumulate in over 2 weeks play in one mis-click
  14. Are you still subed to your old MMO? I have a couple of EvE alts ticking over. I don't want to stop their training until I was sure about SWTOR. Not sure if I'll keep them up though. This looks like it's going to be my new time sink for the forseable future. MMO's are like women. Having two on the go gets expensive and you never have enough time to play with both
