It's a step in the right direction but it could be WAY better. Leave the old graphic of the cooldown but change the borders instead of the whole thing. Use a spark to denote something off cooldown. I'm sure I'll get flamed to hell for this but WoW got the cooldowns right and Mod Authors had it right WAY before Blizzard ever did. It's such a simple thing, how can you guys mess it up the way you did. Please look at their example and be inspired.

+1 to OP If they did a more open space system other than the Starfox simulator this game would be a million times better than it already is. I enjoy the ground game but quickly get sick of the space missions once you hit the "Same as the newb missions, but more dudes and different name". It actually kind of feels like an after though minigame. I hope a more robust space system is introduced eventually. I won't be holding my breath though.

Closest you'll get to a manual is the website. Which you've already discovered is annoying to print out. The only other option is the Prima strategy guide but for other than absolute basics, prima guides are worthless and might not even provide the info you're looking for. Apparently $60 for the game isn't enough for EA/BioWare to include a basic manual with the game. Sad really. Sorry I couldn't be more helpful.
