  1. On my server I just hang out at the crawler to stop people from doing this They really need to add a death penalty to the game cause I can do it all day long.
  2. Was this thread created to promote that review video?
  3. The Balloon ride is the only good thing in this game. The de-spawning thing needs to be fixed but if they took it out of the game then I would have nothing to play for. It's the only true world PVP in the game and it is so fun to use it as an objective to fight the enemy over. I hope it is never changed apart from fixing the de-spawning.
  4. Everything about the game is like a call back to something Star Wars that you liked in the past. There is nothing new or original in the game and it's almost like they said "we want each class to be exactly like a famous character in Star Wars" lol. Like no them characters were unique and existed in the universe, can't we have any newer characters? HK47 was great and all in KOTOR but we don't need a new rip off of him. Do we need a new Han Solo like character who is even worse because now he wears a cowboy hat which to make him into that Clint Eastwood rebel type? Why don't we have all Sith with Red/purple lightsabers and they all use lightning and force choke. Then we'll have all the Jedi using Blue/Green lightsabers that throw rocks because lightning is too evil. You know everything is so black and white it's quite pathetic, life isn't like that lol. I thought the original movies were only like this because so movie goers would understand right away who the bad guys are and who the good guys are. It could have just been in that one story to why all these characters are like the way they are. Then Lucas had to **** it all up by making it the cliche thing of this is how Star Wars is with the new movies....... like NO! Now this has become the standard and it is such a shame. Let be honest Bioware doesn't create good original stories, they make rip offs of everything else and usually follow that Bioware story cliche. Portal 2 was good story telling, this isn't.
  5. Reading the answer of how they're planning to evolve the end game just gives me no hope. The three Warzones aren't the problem, it's just they mean nothing in the game and so it becomes boring. It's the same old Battleground crap we've played in WoW for years and yet they've just decided to copy it and do nothing new. Flashpoints again there is nothing wrong with them but it provides like an hour of entertainment in an MMO that is meant to last months if not years. Once you've gone through the same one twice you skip all the dialogue and just want to get through it asap for the gear, xp or to run your friend through it. Operations are just small Raids from WoW (I know they've scaled it down since I've played) but it still becomes about the same old thing of needing certain specs and classes. It still becomes this boring gear grind to which by the time they fix the gear situation I wont use for PVP anyways. The problem is the end game has no substance, there is no innovation and it feels like I've stepped into WoW again. I got bored of that in 2006 and don't want to play it again. Bioware said they didn't want to follow the cliches of the genre and that is all they've done but done it worse in many ways and seven years after the fact. What would keep me playing long term? Maybe something meaningful to PVP over that isn't the boring Ilum? DAOC and WAR had such amazing world keep PVP it was amazing defending and attacking those keeps for territory. Yet what does Ilum have? Node flipping......... We have planets like Tatooine sitting there that are so setup for some good world PVP but there is nothing to fight for other than a Balloon ride Datacron that you barely see any. Open up both cities so you can travel to each one without a stupid Taxi you drive yourself and put some objectives on the planet. Get rid of Fleet Stations so people are put into the world and so they're more likely to help new or lower level players in PVE content or protecting them from the other faction. Maybe people will stay in Ilum and get involved in the PVP there improving it abit? It was such a retarded idea to take people out of the game and put them in those stations... Professions I can think of which gives people other gameplay opportunities other than the useless crafting skills but Biochem now? Image Designer, Creature Handler and Entertainer just from the top of my head. We need more open non linear worlds because no one wants to go back to the boring linear ones. I dunno who designed those but they just feel like Mass Effect levels you never want to see again. I hope for the love of god that they add more planets in because I refuse to make ALTs going through the same **** content again. Yet all Bioware seem to say is Flashpoints, Warzones, and Operations......... So basically you're copying WoW to which why everyone got bored of it already :\ No thanx I wont be sticking around once this sub is up.
  6. When I think of the other MMOs I loved and played many years ago I have zones that stick in my head. I'll always remember things like the EC Tunnel in EQ simply because it was where everyone used to meet and it was so populated. I'll always remember the first breath taking moment I landed on Tatooine in SWG, the games graphics were so ahead of their time for an MMO. How someone showed me around and how to play the game because there was no tutorial and it was quite complex. In World of Warcraft the whole Elwynn Forest to Stranglethorn Vale experience was amazing, WoW's world is still by far the best I ever played as it hit the mark with so many zones. Yet when I play SWTOR I don't remember anything other than planets being so linear, enclosed and dead because everyone is in a phase or the fleet station instead of in the world. Coruscant should have been this amazing city planet and instead it just felt like a linear Mass Effect level. Nar Shaddaa had loads of sectors that all felt the same, like it had no personality, they could have put a day/night cycle on Coruscant and it woulda had the same effect. Alderaan as well just felt like a linear path all the way through that planet and it's the same story really for every planet. The only one that has any chance of sticking is Tatooine, Anchorhead felt open and free like Coruscant should have and the planet wasn't as linear as the others. Bioware have never been know for their good level design. Their environments always lack atmosphere, they feel quite dead and linear and suffer from the same problems SWTOR does generally. The only problem is this is an MMO designed to keep me playing and I just can't when the world is so dull. If they got rid of the fleet station so everyone got put in the world it might have more life to it but that will never happen...
  7. It's not forcing anything...... It is encouraging people to be out in the world rather than these instanced fleets which take everyone out of it. Why do we have amazing cities like Anchorhead sitting there empty? The Fleet stations were such a poor idea and have ruined the game. Like I said it feels like Guild Wars than a proper MMO.
  8. I'll put my prices as high as people will pay for them, if no one buys them then I drop the price next time. If people buy them then I raise and raise the price to see what I can get away with. People are buying like 20 mats for 50K so I'll keep selling them at that.
  9. I've tried so hard to group with friends in SWTOR and every attempt ends up the same way. The problem comes with the linear progression and the linear built world. See you don't get this problem in standard multiplayer games because you're fighting other people and usually levels only mean what gear you have access to, they don't make you any more powerful. I can wait for my friend to get to my level but I just get fed up with waiting for him level. I can make a new character but because we often play at different times one of us is always ahead of the other. As we're doing linear quests it is very hard to always be on the same part of these quests, when they're this linear it is impossible. The only time you realistically get a chance to play together is Battlegrounds 1 - 49 and level 50. I hate battlegrounds, I want to do world PVP but there is no reward for it and if we're on different planets then one of us is getting killed easily by the PVE. It just turns this game into being solo until 50 where you get bored because it's raids or battlegrounds because there is no world PVP. Saying that this game lacks the world feel anyways, worlds like Tatooine which should be like this have no mechanics around them to make anyone want to PVP there. Playing MMOs like EVE, SWG Pre CU, PS you can always play together no matter how long you're been playing the game. Very much like other multiplayer games progression is very side ways, you don't grow in power but you gain more skills to give you more options. My friends could jump into EVE and we'd be PVPing right away, yes they'd have limited options but at least we could play together. It isn't like the story couldn't be done in a non linear game either. Most of the story is done out in the world where you chat to an NPC and go into a cut scene. There is never any story that has any impact on the world in SWTOR so it isn't like the game needs to be linear. Besides you can have a linear story that isn't a linear path, Skyrim proves this with it's world design. The great thing about Skyrim is it makes you want to explore and visit the same locations twice, SWTOR doesn't do this. In the end I feel like I would rather have KOTOR 3 because the MMO parts of this game aren't done well and they haven't learnt anything from previous MMOs of a similar design.
  10. Said it before and I'm gonna say it again, they remove so many players from the world and put them in this instance. What is the point of the cities and the Capital planets when we have these fleets? It would be much better to just delete the fleet stations and put the features on these planets! Tatooine is the best Planet by far, just simply getting rid of fleet stations could make the two cities on this planet become mass social hubs and people would then would go and PVP out in the world while they wait around. We have these massive capital cities which are just empty and lifeless because why go there when there's the fleet station? you might as well just delete the city because it only serves to be depressing. What a perfect opportunity it would be to get rid of planet to planet travel. Just copy the SWG system where if you want to travel to another planet you purchase a ticket and use it to instantly travel. If you want to go in your ship then you click on a terminal and launch. Get rid of the annoying class hangers or orbital stations which seem like they're left over in the game before the fleet stations were put in. I just hate them, makes the game feel like Phantasy Star Online and not like an MMO at all.
  11. I didn't like the feel of having all the buttons on my mouse so I sent it back. I just like a nice comfortable mouse to grip and so I found my perfect home with the Logitech G500. I've never liked Razer products so I'm probably just a hater, I keep trying them but they all just feel too small and too low down for my hands. I use Taugrim's keep binds and found they work really well! http://taugrim.com/2011/04/07/guide-to-strafing-movement-and-keybindings/
  12. I miss Sandstorms on Tatooine http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5hngspesOdk&feature=player_detailpage#t=172s
  13. I don't want this to turn into a go back to WoW argument as I haven't played WoW for years as Blizzard ruined it. I just have to use examples and WoW is an MMO everyone has played and the MMO Bioware (and every MMO since) obviously copied loads from.
  14. Just make battlegrounds a real place in the world so you have to travel to get to them like when they first came out in WoW. To get into a queue for the instance you have to stay in the area and you get lots of world PVP around them or as people travel to them.
  15. It just feels like every 5 or so levels I'm doing the same experience over and over again. You land on a new planet, go through the horrible space port system with all the class hangers that all look the same on every planet. You run to the planets only major city to gain all the first quests which are all in the same location and the objectives are all in the same location too. Then funny enough when you complete them all they all lead you to a handful of more quests all in the same location too. You'll rinse and repeat this a few times down a linear path through the planet. The planets all feel like linear Single Player game levels and they're so phased and instanced to the point where all the interesting stuff isn't in the world. You can never go back into these areas once you've completed a quest cause there's a red force field covering the entrance. What's worse is I have so many bonus quests I cannot complete or drop because they're in these areas and the CS says they cannot help. Any other game and the CS would have sorted it, not in SWTOR because the customer service is the worst and hasn't sorted a single problem for me. I wanted to remove my Security Key because it ends up being more hassle than the in game store is worth, even phoned them up but they couldn't sort it... they said they did but they didn't. The only planet I like the design of is Tatooine, out of every single planet it is the only one that felt like Star Wars and it felt open and free. It was the only Planet that had good world PVP thanx to the Balloon Datacron but Bioware haven't used this planet to it's potential so it is mostly empty now. I mean link the Cities to the rest of the map so we can have City raiding, I did join a PVP server, not a care bear one. Then add PVP objects in the world and make it a world PVP planet. The city planets are the worst because they don't feel like cities, they just feel enclosed linear Mass Effect levels. All the forced Taxis piss me off too, I mean these are meant to be planets and they don't feel like it. The sad thing is I bet Bioware don't ever add any new land mass to the existing planets to make them feel more MMO like or to give veteran players an excuse to go back. I bet Bioware will just keep adding more Planets in linear fashion and spreading the player base out even more. It would be really nice if they added to the existing planets with new high level zones to keep them populated. The other problem I have is they all feel so generic and lifeless. Like I see the same building design over and over and I see the same cave designs over and over. I see the same statues on multiple planets and they all just tend to blend together, they lack atmosphere and just feel rather meh. There is no day/night cycle and no dynamic weather and NPCs mostly stand still. I remember going into Orgrimmar in WoW and it had so much atmosphere, NPCs roaming about and it was amazing, you don't get that in SWTOR. Where is the ambient sound in this game? You can stand next to waterfalls, creatures, npcs and even stand under flying vehicles and they're silent. You get the odd convo outside a cutscene from the NPCs but mostly it is all in the cutscenes. Why don't Cantinas have like a backing track of people generally talking or having fun? Instead all I hear is one guy clapping all the time. Where is the music in the game? It seems to rarely play unless I've just arrived at a location or in combat, the rest of the time I just hear my LOUD footsteps. There is no ambient music like you have in WoW like in The Barrens, no sounds of crickets or any wildlife and no weather sounds. The games world design just feels so static, linear and lifeless. The Fleet Stations are the worst idea, there is no reason for them to even be in the game. They're even more depressing and generic than the rest of the games world design. All they're doing is taking everyone out of the world making all the cities dead. I would rather cities like Anchorhead being the the major hub for everyone to go to, at least it looks nice and isn't depressing. We might even have some world PVP by actually putting people in it too!
