  1. The Spike DR set is pretty useful in PVE to pad DCD downtime with an extra 10% DR which is actually pretty powerful. There is also a set that reduces the CD of Overcharge by 20s which is pretty powerful considering its only 10s less than Right Price can do for Explosive Fuel and Overcharge is a very strong DCD. Sin has by far the most useful PVE tacticals. 9s Shroud can let you avoid tank swaps even in NiM z&t basically making the tanking trivial. Double cloak gives you an extra shroud letting you solo tank bestia almost the entire fight with about 1 tank swap in NiM, or solo tank Brontes all of P3 in NiM, or easily manage dcds to eat a comfortable amount of orbs in final burn of NiM Brontes, or prevent every final energy wave from Tyth. Friend of the Force lets you shroud friends, you can protect friends from FT attacks, lightning field on dread guards, doom, toth aoe, any cleanses like apex vanguard or council. Utilities are pretty useful too. 5% dr+a heal to friendly players is more than jugg gets, and in situations where rebounders do nothing, more than PTs get. +25% damage on laceration gives you the ability to basically hold any group of adds that are stacked together even through slam spam with well timed taunts far easier than juggs due to the 360 degrees of lacerate + wither/discharge. Force cloak cd reduction gives you a great buff to cloak when combined w double cloak and shroud on cloak. Extra charge on recklessness buffs your opener if you have problems with threat generation. Extra time on shroud buffs how much you can eat with shroud and a reflect on deflection makes it useful even in fights where youre taking exclusively FT. Sins are definitely one of the most powerful tanks in PVE right now simply due to shroud and all the buffs shroud gets through the utilities and tacticals.
  2. A seven boss operation of all Kephess. Except they have actual different mechanics.
  3. I'm not sure if I'm answering the wrong question, but I think DPS is best to go 6E/5A Alacrity, 2C/3E/6A Crit, 1E/3A Acc, Crit/Acc stim and those same relics. That pushes you to the highest alacrity tier if you're in 236 or 240 augments.
  4. Hi all, I play Viru Sniper at around 9.4k parses and AP/Pyro PT at 9.7k/10k+. I have a good amount of experience in early to mid HM content. I am looking for a Mid/Late HM team that runs during the week. Feel free to leave a reply, or shoot me a DM.
  5. Because I am an idiot... I only realized it was old afterwards.
  6. I am going to go against what they said and say crit crystal is always > power crystal, but depending on your crit (around 1700) a mastery crystal is better, or if tanking endurance
  7. Squishiness on the PT is really related to the utilities you take at this point. They changed the DPS side of the house so Pyro would get an AoE damage reduction and possibly an extra 5% if you choose. The 30% reduced AoE is 100% necessary, but I don't run the 5% reduction on Pyro. The utilities are in the 2nd tier and the final tier respectively. The dulfy guide is a little outdated in that perspective. Also if you're a low level running 70 FPs it doesn't matter what class you are, its going to be a squishy time.
  8. I enjoy Pyrotech and haven't had trouble clearing HM content with it, but I was thinking of getting to AP, because it has a little bit more damage reduction than Pyro. That being said, as long as you take the utility that reduces AoE damage by 30% either spec should play just fine. Pyro is fairly easy to learn and put out big numbers. If you're going to end up in NiM you will probably need to know both and in HM it could be useful to know both. As far as choosing one, since the armoring is fairly close, I would try out both parsing on a dummy and maybe a few FPs until you find which one you like more. After that you can easily fine tune the armor with alacrity and crit augs.
  9. You might try removing bitraider. There's guides for that out there. You might also try reinstalling the game. Or if you are playing on Windows 8, getting a different operating system.
  10. Recently I finally solved long time lag issues that were mildly seen in groups of 1-4, and pretty severe almost unplayable in larger groups. I'm going to organize this in a list of things to try to fix lag issues from least time and difficulty impact to highest. YOU SHOULD READ THIS WHOLE LIST BEFORE DOING ANYTHING DRASTIC First things first is you need to find out what kind of problem you are having. It can be separated into 2 basic problems is either an internet problem or a computer problem. If you look in your game and you mouse over your server lag and its greater than a couple hundred, your problem is probably an internet one. If [Your server lag] < 200-300ms the problem is most likely not an internet one. I'll start with internet problems: 1. Check your physical stuff, loose cables, your router/switch, etc. If you're using a wireless router, it shouldn't be in a metal box, and you should be wary of things that can cause interference, such as fridges, microwaves, washers. A fridge in between you and the router probably doesn't matter but 5 might reduce the signal pretty good. 2. Removing BitRaider. If you have blazing fast internet connections BitRaider is a really good utility included in Swtor. It allows for you to play while you load the minimum to play the rest of the game, and allows you to save computer memory and disk space. However, it does this at the cost of bandwidth. So if you are having an internet problem or slow loading, try removing BitRaider. This guide is great just be sure to read through the top comments to make sure everything is cleared out. 3. Check this guide https://www.killping.com/blog/fix-star-wars-the-old-republic-lag-guide/ It covers a lot of good information and if you can't fix your internet problem without spending money, the utility can help. As far as internet problems go, those two cover almost everything except maybe buying faster internet speeds from a service provider, which will help if you have many people using the internet connection. Next are computer problems: 1. Run Swtor as an administrator. Right click Swtor > properties > compatibility > check run as administrator. This will give Swtor more rights on your computer to decrease likelihood of compatibility issues. 2. Lowering graphics settings Try setting everything as low as it can go, then go up from there until you see problems again. 3. Clean up your computer. If you have tons of processes that run on start up or malware on your computer this is going to significantly slow down everything, not just swtor. Depending on how bad it is, I would say go through Programs and Features and remove suspicious programs, and going through Task Manager and disabling processes that enable on start up. And finally, freshly installing your operating system. 4. If you are running Windows 8 or 8.1 that can be a serious problem. DirectX and Swtor and a whole host of programs have issues with Windows 8/8.1 not to mention a high amount of overhead if your box isn't particularly powerful. This leaves you with 2 real options at the time of this list: either Windows 7 or 10. If you have a box that is not really powerful and you don't have a necessity for Windows 10, I would strongly recommend Windows 7. Windows 7 has such a low overhead when compared to 8 and 10 that Swtor can be incredibly fast even on weaker boxes. Plus Windows 7 came before finicky ideas about hybridizing tablet and computer operating systems so it has some of the best performance. Windows 10 if you have a stronger box or a need to use 10 for compatibility with other new software, will ultimately be fine and probably when compared to 8 or 8.1 miles better. Another benefit will be future proofing for longer, because Windows 7 will go out of support far sooner than 10. * A little side note here is that I have a fairly medium strong computer hardware setup and I was playing on Windows 8.1 very painfully, tried almost everything else that did not help at all, went to Windows 7 and that fixed every issue* 5. If you are not running on the minimum requirements, you will probably never have a pleasant game experience, until you upgrade.... Sorry. Generally Memory > Graphics > Processor as far as upgrading goes in my opinion. The only real swap I could see the justification for is Graphics<->Memory. Unless you already have one that is significantly stronger or weaker than the others. I think that pretty much covers all the troubleshooting knowledge that I found useful for Swtor. If there's any questions or anything I can clarify, shoot me a message.
