  1. I did this same mission this weekend. After the completion, you don't get a new mission to continue the storyline right away. I'm assuming cat-boy will want to speak to me "in private" again at some later point when the next mission opens up.
  2. I've only been playing for a couple of months. I'm on Shadow Hand server (East Coast). In April, there were typically 65-75 people on Dromund Kass each night during prime hours, and 100+ on Tatooine. Lately, those numbers are down to about 20 and 30 respectively. I was shocked to see recently that Shadow Hand is one of the top 20 servers in terms of population! Last night on Alderaan, there was me and 3 other people running around. That's it.
  3. Khem Val is my favorite, as I find myself talking to him as I play ("Good job, Khem.", "Look out, Khem!", Over here, Khem"). haha I also like Mako (fits my BH's quest for money at all costs) and T7 (who I send away everytime my secretly Dark Jedi makes underhanded deals).
  4. I took my Assassin to Hoth at level 41 and got her to 43 doing her Class missions and every regular mission I could find. However, I seem to be all out of missions, even though I haven't explored large sections of the Hoth map (northern sections, mainly). I even ran around and got 4 of the 5 datacrons (all easy to get on this map!). Is there a Bonus Series that I somehow missed? I left Hoth and returned a couple of times in case I needed to somehow "activate" a new contact, but still no luck. I'm supposed to go to Belsavius next, but wanted to get a little more padding in XP before heading there.
  5. As an alt-aholic, I never even start a new character without having a personality type/look/vibe in mind first. It makes the game so much more fun. I also play City of Heores, where I've created 50 alts over the last 7+ years. At this point, some of them are like old friends. Years ago, when The Sims first came out, I bought it and created a character who looked and dressed just like me. I gave him my name and sent him off to work every day. I was bored out of my mind! I only got into that game when i realized that the fun of having avatars in games is the chance to play with "someone else".
  6. I did this last night and thoroughly enjoyed the story. I don't think I play my character all that well, but the story realyy keeps me coming back anyway.
  7. My Gunslinger is only level 29 right now, so my choices are Corso and Bowdar. I've been switching them out quite a bit, trying to see which is "better" in different situations, and to be honest, i just don't see very much difference at all. Corso tends to leap towards one enemy and stick with them until they're dead., while I concentrate on the other(s). Bowdar seems to go back and forth between enemies, taking more damage and saving me some HP in the process. Against single enemies, they're about even. I like Bowdar better, just because he's a Wookie and cool, but I switch back and forth just to keep them "happy" with me and keep the game interesting. (After a battle, if Bowdar still has most of his health intact, I find myself saying "Nice job, Bowdar" out loud a lot. I don't do that for Corso! lol)
  8. I had a lot of trepidation going into this mission, and had read up on it beforehand for what I needed to do. I pulled Diego to the top of the ramp and started fighting him. Corso didn't last too long and I died after a decent amount of time. My problem is I don't know how to time these interupts correctly. Do I hit one when I see Diego start to make a move to heal, or id it too late by then? I can't tell. Round 2, I made the mistake of moving close up so I could alternate interupt with ballkick. I got beaten up badly as a result. Round 3, Corso and I were fighting Diego at the top of the ramp when the Jedi and Sith suddenly ran up to him and continued fighting each other. Every few seconds, the Jedi would damage Diego, too, before turning back to the Sith. The Sith MAY have done the same thing--I couldn't tell. Anyway, with 3 of us (possibly 4) fighting Diego, he died pretty fast. The we killed the Sith quickly. During the early cut-scene, when you can choose to side with the Jedi, the Sith or be non-commital, I went non-commital. I don't know if that helped or not, but at least the ladies didn't know if I was a friend or foe until the end.
  9. This game is beautifully made. They really went first-class all the way with the graphics, the cut-scenes, the terrific voice over acting. It's just really well done. Unfortunately, I'm running into the same problem as the OP after a month of playing--I'm tired of the same grinding missions over and over with my alts. I've played other MMOs since 2002, so I know that a certain amount of grinding is to be expected. However, SWTOR seems to be worse than the others, and I'm not really sure why. This game reminds me of the late, great Tabula Rasa MMO. That was also a beautifully-rendered game that, in the end, was basically a point-and-shoot game over and over and over again. I have alt-itis, and love trying out all sorts of characters. With SWTOR, though, the idea of starting a new character, with a new and different look and personality, and taking them past level 17 seems like a colossal chore at this point. I took my Trooper and Sentinel to level 18 and got them to Taris. I've already done Taris with my Gunslinger. To be honest, the idea of doing Taris again TWICE has me thinking twice about even logging on. I'm going to try to power through this lull in the game. I hope I can find something to get my enthusiasm up again.
  10. I agree with a lot of the advice given above. I've found that Male Body Type 1 makes your character look like a little kid (with an over-sized head), so I avoid that one. I have a Trooper Body Type 3 and he's huge, plus the giant armor makes him look like the Michelin Man. My Smuggler is BT 2 and he seems well proportioned for that class. I haven't tried a Male BT 4 (fat), but I might give it a go for a "non-athletic" type character. For Females, Body Type 2 is always a good choice. BT 4 is also good in that it makes your character look a little more muscular but not overly so. BT 3 is just really tall. Sometimes with tall alts, its a little harder to see where to click for scavenging/pickups, and jumping. Again, BT 1 looks like a little kid, and I don't like the idea of putting kids in dangerous situations that this game provides (I'm not an RP'er or anything, but I don't like seeing kids getting killed in-game).
  11. I have a Trooper (Vangaurd) and a Smuggler (Gunslinger). Both are fine, but I really like my Gunslinger best. I think it's really just what ends up appealing to your personal playstyle. The 2 are very different to play. Give them both a try and see what you like. My Gunslinger uses the Cover mechanic, which I really enjoy. Plus, I like his more "wise-guy" style, rather than reporting to superior officers for missions.
  12. Yes, all my gear is upgraded (so is Corso's). As I said, this is the only mission I've found impossible to do (or even that hard, actually). My Gunslinger is a terrific Class, and very powerful, and I'm enjoying playing this character a lot. I started wondering if the problem is that I drew 2 Blood Medics as the "strong" final bosses on this mission. Does every player get this combo, or is it random for each player? In other words, does this mission give you 2 "strong" bosses that are randomly chosen Blood gang members, or do they always give you 2 Blood Medics? My problem seems to be that these Medics are healing themselves and each other at such a rate that I can't possibly bring their health down to zero. I just don't have enough interupts to get the job done. I'm going to keep this mission and return to it every so often until I finally kill them. They're both at level 20, and I'm at 24 right now. I think that even if I was the worst MMO player in the world (which I may be), I should definitely be able to take them by level 30. Otherwise, there's something very wrong. EDIT: I also play STO and there used to be a similar issue in one of their missions. In that one, you had to fight Romulans in a barfight. Most of the time, it was a standard fight. Occasionally, there would be a spawn of extra medics who went on a healing frenzy, making the mission impossible to complete, even for a level 50.
  13. I had this same problem on my Assassin in Nar Shaddaa. I went there ahead of the curve (level 22, rather than 20) but found very few missions on the map. I did all my class missions and the few side missions I was given, but only got a bout 1.5 levels there. Then I went to Tatoonie and was low level and getting beaten up a lot. I went back to Nar Shaddaa and just wandered all over the sectors, looking for stuff to do. I found about another level+ worth of missions and did them. That was enough to put me back on track. I had no problem finding plenty of missions on all the other maps so far. Nar Shaddaa, though, seemed really sparse for my Assassin. I use Stealth sparingly, too.
  14. No luck with any of this. For some inexplicable reason, this mission is impossibly difficult for my character. I tried everything. I even leveled up to lvl 24 and went back and tried it again. These 2 guys are Blood Medics (level 20). I can't interupt them enough and I can't do any real damage to them either. No other mission has given me so much trouble in this game. Any other ideas?
  15. My lvl 23 Gunslinger has been cruising through levels and really doing well. Damage is good, I really like the Cover mechanic, everything is going well. I got this mission, "Back Alley", where you activate a turret and then hold off some waves of Bleeders who try to kill you and destroy the turret. The mission is a level 20 or 21 one, so everything goes well until the two "strong" characters show up at the end. These guys are absolutely impossible to kill. I'm using every trick I can think of, and I can't make a dent in their health bars. My companion goes down first, then me. Again, these guys are labeled as "strong" level 20 characters. After two woeful attempts, I moved on to the 3 "bonus" sections of the mission. They went well, including the one where I killed an Elite Bleeder Captain. No problem. What's going on with these two super-powered bad guys? Is this a bug? I once accidently tried fighting an enemy who was 10 levels higher than me and my powers did nothing. These two guys were both level 20 ( 3 levels lower than me) and they were still just as tough as that +10 villain. I'm out of ideas for fighting these guys. The difference between these two and every other enemy I've fought is so big that it's almost like playing a completely different game.
