  1. So we'll have advance notice before transfers end, right?
  2. My guild is pretty casual, and some players aren't on for extended periods of time. I want to organize a guild transfer that includes everybody still active to some extent, but I don't want to miss out on the window of free transfers. Anybody know how long we have to transfer for free? Thanks.
  3. This game is big enough, and they made enough servers, that I didn't even have that problem on launch day. Now I literally do not see other people unless I'm in the fleet. And I'm not even on one of the least populated servers (Shien). I don't want to be crowded, but feeling like I'm not alone would be nice. I'm all for server merges, many servers need it even if yours may not.
  4. They're quoting a verbal statement, unless I read it wrong.
  5. Or you're RPing someone who doesn't want the plague to spread to unsuspecting victims, and is attempting to halt its spread.
  6. The point of surprise, dynamic events like this is to get introduced to something new, so brave players can explore it, mess around with it, and actually feel like they accomplished something when they finish it. If they held everybody's hand like you're asking them to, the biggest source of fun of this would be gone. If it really bothers you that much to have to think on your own, wait a day and then look up how to do it. If it really really bothers you, don't do it.
  7. Would self-heals like the ones Shadows get reset the timer? That would explain mine... :-/
  8. I suppose. I guess I made the leap (which I acknowledge is a bit of one) because I've been seeing people call for pazaak/swoop racing for 3 years now. If they were going to put in anything that KOTOR fans would enjoy, you'd think it would be that. Although the HK companion idea is a good alternative. I feel that double companions would be extremely OP given the current balance of the game, and they'd have to now record inter-companion dialogue for all of the different companion combinations. Maths says that with 5 possible companions, 5*4/2 is 10 different combinations for each of the 8 classes, so they'd have to record 80 different combinations, possibly varying by area or level.
  9. As part of the 1.2 announcement: To me this can only be one of two things: 1) Pazaak 2) Swoop racing EDIT: Or, as Onallion points out, EDIT #2: And most likely coming during "the (current) year", possibly as part of 1.3 or 1.4. Am I on to something, was this debunked already, or is there a 50-page thread on this on Page 2 of General Discussion that I didn't see?
  10. Are there any alternative Balance builds? I never ever ever ever use Force Lift, so I put the two points from Containment into Mind Ward instead, but I'm wondering if there's any way to reshuffle the rest of the points. Like, would Jedi Resistance, Double-Bladed Defense, or Shadowy Veil be useful to increase survivability? Or are the other KC and Infl skills chosen in the 7/3/31 build better?
  11. Join a guild or find a higher pop server before you get too high leveled.
  12. They're probably too busy developing 1.2 onwards, fixing bugs, rebalancing, etc. to think about doing something like this. Besides, if they did this on Shien the 10-20 people on Tatooine wouldn't be able to take something like that down even if they all hit it at once. More likely it would roam around killing people one at a time, with maybe the 5th or 6th person mentioning it on general.
  13. I can't believe they haven't even responded with a message that they're considering options to deal with this. People leaving because of low populations is FAR worse than bad press because BioWare merged servers. Bad press won't make many people leave, even if it does slightly affect new subs. But we're out of the initial rush, and for nearly every MMO except for WoW, it's all downhill from here; the focus should be on retaining subs instead of finding new ones to replace ones that leave. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE this game. It's just that when I can go hours and hours on any given planet and not have a single bit of General chat, in a game big enough that you rarely see other people, I literally feel alone. And don't get me wrong, this is a great multiplayer game, but if it becomes a single-player game there are plenty out there with less running around and no subscriptions. I can believe that we still have 1.7 million subscribers. What I can't believe is that more than 5% or so of those are on at any given time now that the rush to 50 is over for a lot of people. If the average player played 10 hours a week right after launch, I'll bet that's down to 1 or 2 hours per week, and it shows. To keep online populations up, merge servers and admit that even though your subs have stayed up your logged-in populations have decreased.
  14. I didn't choose a low pop server, my guild was placed there by BioWare. When the lack of population is the only reason we're considering leaving (at least until transfers are available), that's horrible for BW, since that means they're doing everything right except putting enough players together on the same server, and despite having a good game they could still lose subs.
