  1. not many people play this game, thats why there only 8 servers harbinger just got overloaded by people fleeing super low pop servers ... like bastion
  2. yes they would, they would just give you a free day of play time after the fact
  3. and cannonically the wrath of the emperor (or the jedi that killed the emperor) would mop the floor with just about everyone in the entire universe, but no, a smuggler with a couple pistols can take them cannon doesnt mean as much as gameplay, if it did the game would be utter garbage and for the sake of gameplay they needed a couple of pure dps classes, marauder/sentinel make more sense as pure dps than more classes do
  4. thats still not a solution juggernauts are built off the same need to actively build rage as marauders are if they arent doing enough damage giving them essentially unlimited rage (and passive damage) isnt the answer the answer is to tweak the damage output of their abilities to be more inline with other classes they chose to build a combat system without an auto attack mechanic, so dont expect to be seeing it at any point in the future
  5. no auto attacks is one of the things i love most about this game if they added auto attacks i would be pissed plus the class is designed around the need for active rage generation, if you gave us that much passive rage generation it would throw everything out of whack in other words ... its fine how it is
  6. i wouldnt go out of your way to farm instances for gear pre-50, its easy enough to keep your gear current with comms and crew skills (if you have one that can make mods) but it would be a good idea to pre-purchase the level 40 pvp gear, gives you a full set of upgrades as soon as you ding 40, easy enough to get as well
  7. seconded actually this part is fine legitimate gripe however, its has nothing to do with marauders, all classes suffer from it, it is due to horrible client server communication ... some sort of hardware, or software or game engine issue, i dunno im not much of a techie, but its a universal problem, not a marauder specific problem

  10. neither spec is hands down better than the other play them both, find out which you like more or are better at annihilation probably holds a slight advantage over carnage, but if you dont like the spec as much, or cant play it as effectively then it might not be the spec for you, so experiment with them both ... there is no rule that says you have to play 1 and only 1 spec (i use them both on a regular basis) as for that carnage spec you posted ... pretty solid overall, but stagger is a very lackluster talent so id tweak the build to this if i were you http://www.torhead.com/skill-calc#100bcZuGMRRrrdGzZM.1 thats the carnage spec i run, narrowed hatred frees up mods to be used for other stats aside from accuracy, so you get more power/crit/surge etc
  11. true but if you are only putting out 700 dps when you should be putting out 1500 dps, your damage done will be garbage damage done > dps in so far as spiking high dps then dying is bad compared to sustaining a lower dps but living when you dont suck, and can live the whole fight then higher dps = higher damage done
  12. not all of them kinetic and energy are mitigated by armor but some force attacks deal other damage types anni mara bleeds, for example, are force attacks that deal internal damage, internal damage is not mitigated by armor (sins/sorcs have some force attacks that deal internal or elemental damage as well) so you need to check the damage type, not just the attack type, to determine if someone will be mitigated or not but aside from that small detail, everything you said was correct
  13. i wasnt making an argument based on low skilled and undergeared players, i was countering an argument that didnt include low skilled and undergeared players my point is that all opponents should be included in your argument, not just the good ones, because you dont just fight the good ones, you fight bad ones too yes, you need to use defensive CDs against good opponents however, there are plenty of opponents you dont need to use defensive CDs against (for various reasons, not all of which being their skill or gear) so saying that a marauders performance is "utterly dependent" on CDs is, at best, a stretch, and at worst an absolutely ludicrous statement thats the only point i was making indeed, and in rateds things will be very different than they are now, a higher concentration of good players means ill have to use CDs far more ... but i still wont be useless without them
  14. yes, i did mean in certain scenarios, against certain classes, with certain gear, and certain skill but does that not count? you fight the bad players as well as the good players, you fight the gimped classes as well as the powerful classes, you fight the ungeared players as well as the geared players anyone with top end gear and skill that isnt playing a class thats easy breakfast for a marauder ... yea, i have to use CDs but thats not everyone i face, hell, its hardly half the people i face so why should they not count?
