  1. This isn't really a strategy. I buy packs from the cartel market and sell them via the GTN. Also, I make credits from quests and such.
  2. No one is saying that. I think what he meant was being a subscriber does not give anyone the right to abuse any aspect of the game and forums without some form of consequences.
  3. For me, its all about the story lines. I enjoy the class stories, the companion stories, and the side stories. I love having the dialogue choices. The voice acting is excellent. Also, its nice to be able to play solo sometimes. I like being in groups and such. However, on occasion, I also enjoy being able to play on my own. I am more of a PVE person than a PVP fan.
  4. Hi there, I am returning to the game after about 4 months away. I noticed there were quite a few updates. Has things changed for the better or worse? Any new storylines? Feel free to share whatever you feel that a returning player should know. Thanks!
  5. Guild Wars is a bit overrated. Don't get me wrong. It's somewhat entertaining and such. However, some people talk like its the best MMO ever made.
  6. Agreed. Story presentation is important to me.
  7. Double XP weekends? Awesome! A huge update in August? Sounds good. As for the rest of it, I'm a little disappointed. I guess I was hoping something would be done regarding current graphics problems. Such as black screen and loading problems almost everyone has been experiencing. Overall, though, it's enough to keep me around until the end of the summer. Let's see what the 2.4 update is like.
  8. I still have about 60 days left on my subscription. I am a little undecided as to whether I will re-sub. I most likely will. However, there are a couple things that needs to be sorted out. A bugged class mission and unable to purchase cartel coins. We'll see. Those issues aren't that big of a deal. They are somewhat frustrating, though.
  9. Kudos to the OP for starting this thread. It's so easy to get caught up in the negativity. Thank you for reminding me of the good things in the game.
  10. I've become a bit disenchanted with SWTOR. However, its not due to 2.1. Granted, the patch wasn't the best. But, its the least of my concerns. A couple issues have caused me to look at other sci-fi games. I haven't been able to purchase coins for 2 months. Also, my class mission is bugged. I've put alot of work into my toon. I have re-rolled. However, the bloom of this being my first MMO has faded. I'm actively seeking another. I won't give up TOR, though. I've "met" some really nice players. The community is what keeps me from unsubbing. I enjoy the forums and enjoy playing with others.
  11. Agreed. I don't understand all the hate. There seems to be an overabundance of it. I don't agree with how they rolled out the the appearance features. But, I am not angry over it. It's a game. It is not a major life issue. I don't sweat the small stuff. I have control of what I do with my cash. If there is something I strongly dislike, I act accordingly. When I decide something has stopped being of value, usage or entertainment I stop paying for it and also stop being around it. If I hated SWTOR, I would stop playing and also stop reading and posting on the forums. I wouldn't announce "Oooo, I am un-subbing! Take that, Bioware!" I would just simply un-sub and move on like an adult.
  12. Thanks but those aren't my words. I got it from another site and thought I would share.
  13. While I wish we could use credits to purchase appearance changes, I also like this guy's take on things... "Want to REALLY know what is greedy? Wanting a full game with full options at absolutely no cost. Gamers are greedy. Gamers are entitled. Somehow a group of people working for months on end are expected to hand over the finished product for free to GREEDY GAMERS. If you don't like regular payments, then a MMORPG isn't for you. That's how it is, that's how it's always been. I really don't think "massive" games which are expected to give you every option under the sun to colour your hair, build your own house, and furnish it plus keep you playing day in and day out with non-stop raiding including new raiding on expected 8 week update cycle and fair and balanced pvp can be given away for FREE. If you don't find the game "interesting" enough to subscribe then you shouldn't play it. Don't be angry about people trying to recoup costs and make a profit. Try your antics at any brick and mortar store. Buy a car, fill it with fuel and drive away and not pay and see what happens. Take it to a mechanic and then not pay and see what happens. Take it to a car wash and then not pay and see what happens. Apply it to any consumable good and you'll realise who the real GREEDY people are." http://massively.joystiq.com/2013/05/14/swtor-customization-update-goes-live/
  14. This patch is somewhat disappointing. In order to change our characters, we have to use cartel coins? I understand the need to make money. However, some of us are having trouble buying cartel coins. So, customizing our character isn't exactly feasible. If we could use credits, that would be great. Or perhaps fix the issues with our credit cards so we can purchase coins!
  15. I had the same experience. The holoterminal had a mission icon over it. I clicked on it and got a Makeb cutscene. After that, I was sent there.
