  1. So I watched the new Revan returns trailer and it got me thinking. Basically the overall tone is that Revan is a genocidal maniac. He must be stopped. His followers are crazy. Lets go kill the ****er. No big deal with most antagonists. But what's the one thing everyone and their dog remembers about KOTOR? What separates Revan from other antagonists? Are Revan and his followers a stand in for us? Is that how Bioware sees its fanbase?
  2. The odds of The Mouse respecting anything of the EU going forward are somewhere between zero and... well, zero. EU fans, all six of them, are just going to have to get over it.
  3. This is going on the false premise that power is the one and only one reason to be a Sith. People tend to believe in the ideology they were raised in, even if it's turned every society in which it gains influence into a third world hell hole, they follow it because they believe it's right. Same is true here. Most Sith are Sith just because they were born and raised in the Empire. It also assumes that there's only one kind of power, personal combat, that matters. Yes, a Jedi might be equally capable of strangling a guy with his mind just for laughs (just as one example), but their order forbids it. The power that might be appealing to a Sith isn't just from the capability, but the freedom to use that capability however you like. Political, economic or social power can be just as enticing as physical power.
  4. I personally stick with male toons in MMO's. Just don't feel like putting up with "Many Men Online Role Playing as Girls" or "Guy In Real Life" comments.
  5. There's a fairly long time, about two thousand years after this game where there's not a lot of lore. Maybe the Empire wins, rules for a few hundred years or so, and then is brought down by the player character in a single player KOTOR 3 (not made by Obsidian). One can dream.
  6. I remember getting that "empty" feeling playing KOTOR 2. Damn that game was a cluster.
