  1. I agree with this. Having played an OP and a Mara, I think the OP is more difficult to play. On top of everything you have to manage, you have extremely limited survivability, implicating situational awareness as well. Quite frankly, after playing an op, I found Mara easy and almost unstoppable.
  2. There is only one really: madness sorcerer. You can kite any world boss that can be slowed to death.
  3. My darkness assassin has no problem with marauders, unless they come in packs. Unfortunately, these days, they always travel in packs.
  4. Two kinds of players ask for nerfs: players who don't know their class very well and players who ask to nerf their own class in a stealth "i'm uber" post. The vast majority fall into the first category. How about instead of asking for a nerf to a class you really know nothing about, other than it can kill you, you ask for a buff to the class you play. You might not even really understand that class well, but at least you have the experience to make sense. Also, no one likes nerds, but everyone likes buffs. Right now, pvp could be balanced with a few tweaks, which, by the way, will probably come in the form of heroic legacy skills. So, post about your own class and leave mine alone. We all have pvp issues that we deal with. It not even be the class that is the issue. Understand that you may not be as good a player as you think you are. At the end of the day, the best players can beat the average players with just about any class.
  5. Only on some maps against some teams. Like PTs, most darkness dps comes from fewer rezes.
  6. One quick point about darkness assassins, they are so deadly in pvp because they have the survivability to get anyone to 30% and once you are there, you are dead. Their late fight burst in ridiculous. I have gone into a big scrum and killed player after player just as fast as assassinate is off of cd.
  7. They aren't noticed because of how rare they are. The ratio of marauder/assassins to PTs is like 20/1 (I have no idea, but PTs are rare in comparison). I have a PT and a darkness assassin. Both are good in pvp, but the PT is better.
  8. Give up progression raiding because it's not really for you. I used to be a progression raider and we never considered the relative dps between classes. We wanted to bring certain players because we knew they would study the fight, learn the fight, and stay alive long enough to down the boss. Progression raiders know that a dead marauder does less damage than a live OP. We also know that being the first or close to the first to down a boss means having the absolute minimum gear required to beat the enrage timer. In fact, we plan on downing content before people have any real gear. We strive to be first and understand what that really means. It means showing up prepared, knowing the fights, having the right spec, mods, and rotations, staying out of the fire and being willing to wipe for hours, if necessary, to kill a boss. In short, real front running progression raiders take the player, not the toon.
  9. Dark Side trooper is supposed to be epic. BH's have better animations, but Troopers look better standing around.
  10. The irony is that guilds which refuse to take a specific class to be "elite," never clear content. Guilds that take the player instead of the class do just fine. The top guilds in the world for PvE content clear everything before they even have the gear to do so. They just know how to play, are coordinated, pay attention and are willing to wipe again, again and again to get it done (I know this from experience). All of the guilds that focus on the relative strengths and weaknesses of the classes are just trying to rationalize their failure. I would take your trooper and look for a guild that wants to raid with you (the player not the toon).
  11. I don't know how many of you noticed, but deception was hitting pretty hard post 1.2. Then, last night, I noticed that my crits were lower and my overall damage was much lower. Was there anything posted about changes? Did they fix some bugs that were making deception hit hard? What's the dealio?
  12. Assuming that you are not just trolling, asking whether something is working for others, before opening a ticket, is what the forums are for.
  13. My assassin had no problems with Marauders 1v1 (or 1v1v1v1 even, one right after the other). The problem is that they're like a pack of wild dogs. Once one gets on you, they all come sniffing around.
  14. This looks good. These numbers mean that skill > class for PvE dps in this game. As for the people asking for source, get over to the dummies and test for yourselves. The people who are doing that are finding similar numbers, i.e. with equivalent gear, the differences are determined by knowledge and skill. Other posts have noted that Mercs and Deception Assassins parsed highest for their guilds. So, the dps results are everywhere, as they should be. Sorcs, Mercs and Snipers will still be top dpsers in OPs because dummies don't aoe, but it just won't be by very much.
  15. I never saw the animation. It just fired (or didn't), but nothing visible.
