  1. What I find most worrying is that all those 400k - every single one of them - left after April 23th. Otherwise it would mean that Bioware (in specific Daniel Erickson) outright lied to us about the numbers and that's just not possible... right...right? BioWare claim that subscriber numbers haven’t dropped, but concurrent users at peak times have. This, Erickson says, is the reason why players are noticing a lot of ‘light’ server populations – and also why mergers are on the cards, but not a priority. According to Erickson, they’re doing “anything and everything” to bring that concurrent users number up. “Nothing is off the table when it comes to making sure our communities are strong and active on each server.” http://www.pcgamer.com/2012/04/23/bioware-doing-anything-and-everything-to-keep-players-logging-in-to-swtor/
  2. Per earlier posts, unsubbed! I've got my 30 free days kicking in next week and it seems that the new site has at least laid groundwork for transfers for the Oz crowd so who knows, maybe they'll get some money from me next month.
  3. I've been quite critical of some things around these parts recently so it's only fair that I give credit when it's due. So yeah, good call here. I'm glad to see the change made and I do think that's at least a bit more fair way to measure 'loyalty'
  4. That's just not true now is it? It was always going to be US only. I'm pretty sure we all knew that before we clicked. That's no excuse for the community team to post inaccurate information to the forums again. Not doing so well on that this week.
  5. With 1.2 still coming out in just a few short hours, Bioware will be looking for publicity all over the place. There'll be press releases and no doubt some features on various gaming sites. I urge you to email your favourite gaming site (especially if you expect them to cover the launch of 1.2) and let them know what you think - good and/or bad. Most sites will have a contact forum somewhere. Send a short, polite email to 'em. Submit a question for them to ask Bioware, suggest that they take a look at a specific thread or posting. Copy your email over to feedback@swtor.com. If you have cancelled, let the gaming site know (and defo let feedback know!). Thousands of posts back and forward on these forums are pretty worthless, you can see the trolling going on all sides. Raise awareness.
  6. It amuses me how we can get a nice new version of the thread. I wonder how many threads we'll get through before anyone from Bioware even admits that server population is a problem.
  7. Is a anyone going to PAX and can actually ask someone from Bioware? They can't, I would hope, follow the policy with this thread and actually ignore a customer stood in front of them talking to them! Also someone up above mentioned having written to their game site of choice. I think this is a FANTASTIC idea. Bioware are clearly happy to ignore any of their paying customers posting on the forums about this but they will be looking for press and promotion as soon as 1.2 hits. Wouldn't it be lovely if enough people had contacted Massively (for example) that they asked in their 1.2 interview, 'What about the low pop Bioware? We've had a bunch of people write to us!' (Yes, yes some of you are happy and just here to try and convince us that because your server is fine or you were happy to give up everything you had played for - well we should just reroll. If it bothers you so much that others are unhappy, feel free to take the same route and write to Massively (etc) and tell them that you are happy.)
  8. But it's NOT a merge! That would be something!! That would have me rethinking starting an alt on another server and playing that (with people, just imagine!!). My understanding from the Guild summit (or maybe a dev post on Oceania) was that would *NOT* be merged that the highest level of Legacy would take precedence and thus a whole lot of lost Legacy levels. As to everything else, I'm glad it worked for you. I'm slightly taken aback by the fact that you, despite seeming reasonably smart and unlike so many others saying similiar, non-troll like, that you simply can't see why that wouldn't work for anyone else? The entire Legacy system seems, to me, designed to reward playing on the same server. Right now if I were to switch I'd lose enough Legacy levels for pretty much every single unlock (except the GTN I think). I, quite simply, would rather stop playing (and stop paying!) than have to do it all over again. I am being punished by my server choice - which by it's very nature was an uninformed decision - and there isn't even the courtesy of a single comment by Bioware. I'm glad it worked for you. It won't work for me. I do agree that Legacy is a great introduction, I think there's some nice features for it coming in 1.2 and I think it's potential is pretty damn high. Making it account wide would, at least for me, solve a number of my problems. I would roll another toon without feeling like I was being punished for doing so and I'd play with a bunch of people for a change. I understand that it's a tricky situation publicity wise and I would not want to be the one who has to figure out how to do it. They can wait and the problem will go away, people will quit. I don't know if enough will quit for it to hit the bottom line or trigger some sort of response. I hope it does. They could just hold their hands up and go back to that 'we won't make the too many servers mistake' and say 'oops' but even then... Heh. I'll take that bet. Starting over is unacceptable, staying as I am is unacceptable. The most acceptable is cancelling. It sucks, but that's how it is for me. Please don't be under any delusion though, people are cancelling accounts over this. Folks can chalk it up to forum QQ'ing or a small vocal group but I'm reasonably sure it is more than that and when I cancel I'll be very sure that the survey knows exactly why. My email reminder is all set!
  9. I'd settle for making Legacy cross server. I'd roll a new toon somewhere else, while waiting on merge/transfer, if I didn't loose all my levels and I could still add to them. That would be a great stopgap solution at least for me.
  10. Show me the growth please! I'm really keen to see someone - anyone - give a real number that's more recent than the 1.7. The anecdotal (and yes it is *very* anecdotal) evidence is that numbers are dropping so please please show me the growth. Thank you in advance!
  11. Yeah that's what I thought. I've not seen a real number released since then. I'm not sure I'd expect such a bump from Oz etc and there will have been at least some drop from non renewals. An updated number would be good to see. I personally expect it to be lower.
  12. Are there actual numbers on that? I'd love to see 'em if so.
  13. Is there really no comment from Bioware on any of this? How on earth did nobody bring it up at the Guild Summit? My server is quiet, it feels like every day there are less people playing on it. They dangle all this cool Legacy stuff that simply punishes anyone who rerolls on another server. Running low levels during the week there have been times when I've been the only toon on a planet. I had Hoth to myself for a few hours. My GTN is dying, there's no supply for what little demand there is on a whole lot of things and on others, hell I can't even sell my ship parts anymore. I'm not going to start again on another server unless I can move my Legacy level. I've an email reminder set up a couple of days before my billing is due so I can really think about whether I renew or not. I really want to but I need a playable server (edited to fix typo - meant to say 'every day' not 'very days' (???) )
  14. Is there any particular reason that James can't post himself? It seems a bit odd....
  15. Sad face. I have, along with others I play with, rushed up some unloved alts to 32(ish) so we'd have buffs ready to be unlocked. My understanding from that interview and from the summit was that we simply had to complete chapter 1. I don't believe we are in the minority thinking that. I'll be quite disappointed to find out this info was wrong
