  1. Thanks for the responses. I guess I just assumed since it was in beta, it would be no problem to include it with the real thing. But I'm no expert on the matter. I'm experiencing major FPS problems, as a good number of others are. Low view distance would likely increase performance dramatically- even if the main FPS problem is on Bioware's end.
  2. Simple question. Why was the view distance slider from beta removed for the release? There must be a good reason, right?
  3. They can improve the graphics as soon as us unlucky people with terrible FPS and other huge problems get our issues solved on LOW graphics. And yes, my computer is good enough to run this game at more than 10 fps.
  4. Thanks for the help. I guess I'll have to scrounge up the money then. >.> I'd say this game is worth it.
  5. Alrighty. What would you say is the single best upgrade I could make? I can't really afford a new computer atm.
  6. Yep, shadows are off, and every graphics option is turned on low or off.
  7. Hey guys. Is this normal? http://i43.tinypic.com/hsnn0g.jpg Useful info: -My FPS has been poopydoop(pardon my language) since I began playing on Friday. -I'm fairly certain my computer meets the requirements for this game. -On the lowest of the low settings, I can max out 80+ fps on WoW. -I'm getting no better than 30 fps on SWTOR(lowest graphics settings, tried many solutions), considerably lower indoors and in combat. The memory of swtor.exe #1 starts out at around 1M when I launch the game, and over the course of several hours of play, gradually increases. Restarting the game resets it to ~1M. The memory of swtor.exe #2 stays in the 125k-135k range.
  8. I had high hopes for SWTOR, and to be honest, I like the game a lot. But it's difficult to enjoy the game when I only get small windows of play time here and there. Oh yeah, the lag. It lags all the time. Yesterday I was getting 5-10 fps nonstop. It was unplayable. After spending my entire day tweaking my computer here and there, I stumbled across a fix. Apparently turning graphics options on and off in a certain mysterious order fixed the lag, at least somewhat. But it still lags. I'm not enjoying the 20 fps I get when I'm lucky, less in enclosed spaces. And I know I'm not the only one with these problems. For a good chunk of yesterday, the game wouldn't even let me in. It went from the launcher to a loading screen, then a black screen, then back to my desktop. Finally I decided to system restore, which fixed it. I get an easy 60-70 fps on WoW with medium settings, so why is it SWTOR is almost unplayable? Do I even need to explain the ridiculous queue times? Maybe this is considered smooth for an MMO launch of this caliber. Maybe I should just relax and wait for them to patch the problems. But my question is this: why am I bending over backwards just to play this game when I can play WoW no problem? What reason do I have to play this when WoW is begging me to come back? Shouldn't I just play WoW in the meantime, which doesn't give me migraines, and come back to this when all the glaring problems are solved?
