  1. I'm not sure is about that... best friends in gaming were found in LFG global channels a few years ago, and I didn't mind about the wait. There were no tools, only a global channel on a standart server, but standart meant more than 1k people online in the same channel. I understand your concerns, I really do. I don't think the problem is the lack of tools anymore, 1.7m subscriptions do not mean 1.7m people playing. Standart servers look and feel empty, the number I see at the top left corner everywhere is depressing. I'm enjoying the game, the classes stories, the combat, but I'm not enjoying it that much to re-create the same classes on another server. It's just that there is no light at the end of the tunnel, and I may be wrong but server population wise, nothing in 1.2 will make it better. Just do something fast, please open up a server global channel, something...
  2. I understand you and the Devs point of view, but not for SWTOR, they do not make sense according to the number of people I see online at prime time. To my experience a Standart populated server is a server with something like: 9 ppl on Hoth, 15 on Taris, 40 on Station, etc (Imperial side, a little less on Republic), but let's be optimistic, 70 on station, 20 on each planet. The majority of European Servers are standart population servers, what will the tool do for this servers? The tool will always be a better tool than the non-tool we have now, you can put yourself in queue and do other things while you wait. But how long will this people have to wait on this servers? The proposed tool is great for HEAVY/FULL servers, which are what? 1% of all servers or something? The majority of servers are Standart servers. Now what? Reroll? Really? That's the solution? Do everything again with all your chars on another server, choose a VERY HEAVY one and maybe, maybe everything will be alright. And only in 1.3? That means June? July? Despite legacy being awesome or not, is legacy really more important than a semi usefull tool to find groups on this standart populated servers? HINT: You know the devs/designers that took care of the smuggler tier2 armor set? Maybe they know how to code a nice LFG tool, because they surelly don't know how to design a good looking armor.
  3. Clock is ticking... - Server only LFG tool is way better than the LFG tool we have today. - A GLOBAL LFG chat channel is way better than we have today. - 1.2 in April, LFG tool only in 1.3, that means what? July? What? - Meanwhile my server rocks 50 ppl at the station in primetime (yesterday 30 people, but I will have to blame Barcelona game for that). - Server merges will give a bad image to the public so they will not do it. - Free transfers will generate empty servers, empty servers will give a bad image to the public so they will not do it (maybe later, but you'll have to pay, after all this is EA). You (BW) really have to do something fast. Clock is ticking...
  4. I'm not doing operations, but I would like to be informed just in case. And thanks to the forum moderators in case they forward this to the respective team (apologies for the color): Master Looter, a fundamental part of end game loot distribution, still not working after 2 months. What's the prio of this issue? I'm not saying that this should be prio 1 because people can still play the game, but it should be at least prio 2. So much time to take care of this important issue make it look like a terrible artificial measure to try to delay guild progression nothing more. I understand that some bugs are much more difficult to solve than others (specially the hardware/network ones), but a master loot bug? Really? I can only imagine the time that some guilds may have lost gearing up because of loot errors/problems until they figured out the best way to do it. And to everybody that helped me understand this issue, thanks for all the replies. Meanwhile, if one of you, more experienced players, could write some sort of loot guide of how loot is working and should be distributed in each type of operations (normal/hard/nm) that way we could request to sticky it and it would be really great for guilds that are planning to start doing them.
  5. Leveling in EvE? Are you sure of that? If you mean that you can even level offline while going to the cinema and doing other real life stuff then I'll concur (even if I call it "learning", not "leveling"). EvE terrible? You may not like it, it may not be the Mac Donnalds of MMOs, but respect where respect is due. EvE is one of the most "technical" advanced MMOs in history. The economy itself is unbeatable (and object of study in universities), the PvP will make your heart race like a horse. You do not dare to talk bad of the best and only(?) remaining sandbox MMO of our times. You CAN'T COMPARE EvE with SWTOR, it would be amazing if you could, but you really can't since they are completelly different games. And don't forget one little detail, EvE is a subscription based mmo for more years than WoW. And now, back to the topic. In SWTOR, you can complain about almost everything, the pvp, the pve, the single progression path, the bugs, etc. But one thing BW did right, this was the best questing experience I had, even the worse class story is better than the best quest in the other MMOs I experienced. Story telling was always a very strong point of BW, and they nailed it again (even if they "failed" in almost everything else). This is just my opinion, so take it with a big bunch of salt.
  6. I read a few posts about this already, and would like to understand what is working/not working within the different loot distribution modes. And maybe make a recap of all the current problems. How do you process the loot in Ops? What is not working? Master Looter? Free for All? Round-Robin? Doesn't people on round-robin get loot that is not for his class? What is the problem in master looter? Or are all this issues old history and all the problems were already solved?
  7. They have no choice already, it's too late :-( The reasons, like it or not are quite obvious. On one side: Merging servers so early is bad business. On the other: Queues of hours to do a flashpoint on a light/standart server will be bad business too. Single Server LFF tool was needed YESTERDAY. Tomorrow they will have to accept to do a cross-server LFF tool. BW can be stuborn and create a single server LFF tool, accept that people on light/standart servers will be tired of waiting for the FP to pop and will leave the game, or, re-roll on a more populated server (even with the easy fast leveling most of them will leave). I wouldn't mind this from BW, but they would have to do it "today". Not next week, not next month, yes, today. The sad thing is, next week they will only "talk" about it. The more time they take to do anything, more forced they will be to do a cross-server LFF tool. Clock is ticking... tic toc tic toc OBS: This line was taken from another time/game/forum.
  8. Main: Shield PT. Alts: Healing Operative and an Anni Marauder.
  9. Hmm, how about something like this: > You have a certain time to finish a 16 NM Mode Op > No deaths at all in all the Op > Super difficult mega encounter unlocked (10 tries per week to make it even more special) The rewards would be: > a main-hand/off-hand with a new-design (and +1 endurance haha) > a new title That's the prestige, and that's your reward :-P Too harsh? :-)
  10. Problem: > In this patch the ending of the GCD is the most obvious thing in the bars and the GCD itself it's a close second. The first is not needed and the second should be at the end of the 'spectrum'. Suggestions: > Long cooldown graphics are fine > Use the flash ideia for procs (only on that skill, and tone the bright down, it should not be a blinding white) > Fast single skill cooldowns are WAY more important than the GCD, the fact that the GCD is running should not make it difficult to see the current skill status at any time (not at 1.4 , not at 0.6, not at 0.1 secs, never) > Create a NON intrusive GCD visual effect, the GCD should be at the bottom of the "food chain", not at the top. Just my 5 cents.
  11. You can't compare SWTOR with EvE. I really love EvE despite not playing it for a while, but you're talking about a sandbox with a very different success rank population wise. You can't put it in the same league an MMO that aims to catter millions of players. CCP is not in the same league of BW/EA. For me EvE is simple amazing, the concept, the sandbox, the economy, it's (or was) a rare gem in the middle of all MMOs. Unfortunatly the big companies with the big dev teams and the big bucks learned nothing from it. I agree with the instant gratification part of your post. At the same time you have to understand, you spent 30m waiting for a group, what kind of server are you in? Some people can stay hours in much lesser populated servers. Some people only play 2h a night. It's *sad* to making them wait for nothing. With the current tool they are not making the content any harder, they are creating a barrier for a player to enjoy the game, nothing more. At the same time, that battle is already lost. The leveling is really easy, the flashpoints are easy, according to many the operations are also easy. Only thing that is creating barriers in progression are chests that you may be able to open or not for what I understand. I'm in the opinion that hard should be hard, heroics should be epic, nightmares? you should have nightmares several nights/weeks before being able to finish them and the result should be legendary. Put the chalenge in game, not in chest farming, bad UIs and lack of tools. I really love this game, but they have a looooooooooooot of work to do.
  12. 1. A LFG global channel is a nice *hotfix*, despite the spam it would be a channel you could join/leave at any time. Made lot's of friends in past games using this rudimentary tool, some of them still play with me today. 2. The final solution is already in the bottom right corner of the UI. An icon, that puts you or your group in a queue for the desired flashpoint (server only). If the current PVP queue button is not killing the community, I don't understand how the hell a PVE button with the exact same functionality will be able to do it. You MAY have to create some sort of flashpoint *locking* mechanisms to avoid people to level up only using this tool. Also, full teleportation to the flashpoint is not needed imo (they are all in the same place).
  13. Not sure I understood that one... but sure, do it for pvp queues also and see what happens :-) I'm in favor of a server only channel/tool, people that praises the current LFG tool must understand that if it's not being used as it should then it's not working, there is something wrong with it, call it people laziness, whatever. The pvp tool it's the exact same tool that's needed for pve, an icon that you can click, select flashpoint and join queue solo or as group, server only. If the current pvp tool where you can level without visiting planets or seeing the content is not destroying the server community how the hell an identical pve tool will be able to do it?
  14. - Not 50 yet - Not everyone plays on a heavy server - If you play on a light/standart server you can see max of 100 ppl in fllet at prime weekend time - Almost no one uses the LFG tags, so you would have to ask each person of your level if they would be interested to join you - yes you can make friends that way, but it is really time consuming - a lfg global channel could go a long way to solve this issues, are you interested in creating/joining a fp, just join the channel and see what's going on. You're not interested? Leave the channel. You can blame the people laziness all you want, if the tool exists, but nobody uses it as they could, the tool SUCKS!!! The pvp tool works really nice thou, you can queue solo and everything - the horror, it's killing the community *sigh*
