  1. Exactly everything in the EU that hasn't been contradicted by the Movies or TCW is considered canon. There is over 20 years worth of post ROTJ EU material which equals alot of merchandising dollars. If Disney is smart, they will design these movies around the Post ROTJ EU material and make them coexist in one cohesive continuity. That way not only are the core fans who like the EU still happy but they also get to continue to reap the benefits of the money that the material brings in along with the opportunity to market that material to more people as a prelude to the new trilogy which can be connected to the Post ROTJ EU.
  2. I think that would be the best approach and the approach I hope they go with. Then they can sucessfully merge everything together into one firm canonical continuity where everything coexists.
  3. Favourite Battle is a 2 Way Tie between Battle of Thyferra and the NJO Battle for Borleias. Thyferra was awesome for the whole Rogue Squadron with slave targeted freighters versus the second Executor class Super Star Destroyer Lusankya and I love the NJO Battle for Borleias because of the Lusankya ramming itself full spped into the Vong Worldship. Favourite Squadron would be Wedge's resetablishment of Rogue Squadron 2.5 years after Endor which features my favourite Pilot Corran Horn.
  4. I hope its not the final nail in the post ROTJ EU continuity and we won't really know until more details are revealed. I know people are jumping to conclusions after the original story news but that doesn't really tell us much about the EU's fate other then it won't be a movie version of Thrawn or Dark Empire but I don't think any sensible person, even fans of those trilogies thought that was going to happen. It however doesn't mean the EU in its current form is going anywhere. It would be quite easy to create a new trilogy in the Post FOTJ time period that would allow for new stories with the Big Three and the passing of the torch to Jaina and Ben, while allowing the new movies and the Post ROTJ EU continuity to coexist in one overarching universe.
  5. Well Karen Traviss is easily the worst writer to ever pen a Star Wars novel. Her hatred for jedi and unabased worship of the Mando's made me want to pull my hair out. Also the way she handled Mara and her death was unforgivable. Add in her arrogant and *****ly approach to the fan's rightful criticism and you have one writer who should never write for Star Wars again. Luckily the combination of her attitude towards fan criticism and the headaches her writing caused for Denning and Allston contributed to LFL and Del Ray to end their relationship with her.
  6. Allston is good when he's writing X-Wing and focusing on writing Wedge, Janson, Hobbie and his own characters. I haven't enjoyed his work in FOTJ or LOTF though alot of that might because I don't like the direction those series have took. Also he sometimes struggles with characterizations of other writers creations, namely Corran Horn as an example. Though to be fair Corran is always at his best when Stackpole's writing him though Zahn has a great grasp of him as well.
  7. Frank Marshall also played a huge role in the devlopment of the Indian Jones character and Raiders in general. Plus Kasdan was brought aboard to write the script after he had impressed Lucas with his work picking up where Leigh Brackett left off in Empire.
  8. Well that laptop is almost the same specs as mine and I can run SWTOR at high with an average fps at 45. Though I have a GT 630M 2 GB GPU and a 1TB HDD.
