  1. Everything you said is opinion, so I'm not sure how it's going to calm anyone down.
  2. Correct, but it takes time and mats to learn purple schematics. Focusing on craftables ahead of your level is pre-planning so that you have an item ready for when you're that level. Purple crafted items are very nice the first level you get it, and will last 1-3 levels compared to nicely mod'd orange items.
  3. Agreed, and why haven't they done this already. Crafters are holding out and it's only hurting the game and economy more.
  4. Spot on. Everyone should reread this, because what they are doing now is very questionable. I agree with what is said above, the speeders and the crystals are their attempt to drain excess money from the economy before the big crafting changes. I really question why they've done this without first addressing a serious issue with RE.
  5. This is a very good point. I don't think many realize or understand the way around this, but it's one time use missions. For anyone serious with crafting, they aren't running short missions, they are buying missions from the GTN (or running slicing to get them) to get mats, normal and rare. It might seem expensive at first, but it normalizes your costs which help when establishing what you sell your products for.
  6. It's not entitlement. It's identifying a weakness in its current form. I know how easy it is to q up crafting and RE them, and I know how easy it is to spend 500k credits (my cost, not GTN cost) in a couple of hours for nothing, because I've done it quite a few times. I'm also neither pissed or discouraged, I'm concerned. I have lots of money, make lots of money and most importantly contribute to the game through what I make and what I offer. I am a dedicated crafter with greater concerns. With that said, I do agree I don't want RE'ing 'much easier'. I want the final solution of it being stabilized so that long streaks of no results are addressed. In the meantime, since they have taken forever to address it, I do feel a buff to the proc rate is a good interim solution (which by the way wouldn’t eliminate the streakiness). So, your 30+ 49 purples to my 20+ 49 purples, we’re in the same category. I even have one double purple, but only because I got lucky on it. Regardless, I do believe we both want purples to be rare. I just don’t want it streaky, because it –will- and –has- turned people off from crafting.
  7. I do agree the GTN is dysfunctional in its current design. It was rushed and unfinished. I honestly don't believe it hurts sales that much though. Yes, hard to use and frustrating, but I still sell quite a bit every day. For top tier armor, I sell 5-10 pieces a day. These are people that have just arrived at 49/50, whether primary character or alt and would like to reward themselves with some very decent upgrades. I also try to maintain scavenging and underworld training mats on the GTN, so that they're always available to those that don't run missions. Pricey at times, but supply and demand dictates that. That stuff sells well too. So while the GTN isn't ideal, I don't think it's holding people back from crafting. I believe the core of the issue is RE'ing without progress towards success. Most people that attempt hit a certain threshold that it then becomes unreasonable. In other posts many people have outlined lots of ideas, some great, but at the very least they could just increase the chance at success. I would guess it's around 5%, maybe take it to 10% until 1.2. So, every once in a while I'll burn through 500k worth of mats to try and get upgrades, but when I get nothing in return it's disheartening. I would imagine others feel the same. As a side note, while I enjoy Armormech, am successful at it, am one of the few high level Armormechs crafting consistently, I'm very surprised there's a huge shortage of gear on the GTN. Since I know people use the GTN, I would guess the reason lies heavily on RE.
  8. I'm a patient man, and willing to allow needed time for adjustments and changes. However, the time has come for all of us to speak out about why Reverse Engineering hasn't been adjusted yet, whether a temporary change or a permanent fix. Waiting for 1.2 is a month away. Please join me in this by continuing this thread until it's addressed. As a Crafter I'm fully aware of how RE works. I'm a 400 Armormech and have been for quite a while. I'm successful with over 30 purple learned schematics. I have 20 lvl 49/50 items listed on the GTN at all times. But I'm upset that I can't provide more to my server by hitting multiple tiers, or offering more at the top tier. The streakiness of RE is simply inexcusable. The last round trying I went through 130 blues without a single learned purple schematic. I understand RNG, and from my 13 years of MMO’s can appreciate the difficulty of getting rare schematics. However, spending millions of credits for RE without progress is hard to stomach and pursue. As they’ve even admitted, it is not working as designed. It needs addressed now, even if it were just a temporary fix before 1.2. Playing My Alts I have money to spend, but nothing to spend it on. The offering on the GTN is sparse. I can’t blame crafters for not wanting to waste their money on RE when it isn’t working as intended, especially when everyone knows it’s going to be changed. So for weeks (months) everyone has been holding off on pushing for purple schematics and crafting for the GTN. All - we – need, is a quick adjustment and the crafters will respond and spur the economy. Seriously, I’m speechless at why Bioware would take this long to address it. Crafting and the resulting effects on gameplay and the economy are important. I cannot believe that an adjustment would be difficult given the importance. Please, just fix or adjust Reverse Engineering now.
  9. I predict this. Firesale on speeders that will be retired. New speeders come out that are faster (100/125/150). Everyone that purchased a speeder before will then have to upgrade.
  10. Am I the only gun user that is upset with crystals to begin with? Saber users get all the thrill with their fancy colors, and gun users get only a few abilities that even show the color. In fact, I have never recognized color associated with any gun user, including my own use. In addition to the changes to crystals, I would love a change that allows better identification of what crystal a gun user is using.
  11. The OP is talking about Assault Specialist commandos, which are not healers. Sure they'll have a couple of heals, but you won't see them healing. Since I'm a commando, that's the only tip I will offer.
  12. At 50, an hour spent doing space missions will net you 85k. When people complain about crafting, it's relative to the time and money spent to creating a profit. It's nice that you're enjoying the game in a different way, but that doesn't equate to the fact that crafting is difficult to justify in the long run. There are many ways to make money, at all levels. Crafting really only becomes a money sink.
  13. Reviving this post. I'm having a heck of a time getting metal missions. Recycling the list by doing level 1 missions doesn't help much either. How are people getting purple metals consistently through mission skills, without buying one time use missions?
  14. So nobody has come up with a workaround? I think 'we' are the ones that are slacking by not figuring out a way to show high rez textures.
