  1. #Biowaredun****edup We have an Operative player saying his class is over powered. With his experience at all 8 classes I think his opinion is valid. And whoever said Sorcs are all heals with DOTs? You're wrong. The heals don't do squat when said Ops can remove our DOTs and reapplying said DOTs takes precious time that Operative is using to apply further damage Sorcs can't do anything about. Cloakers are over powered, end of story. Listen to the original poster people.
  2. #Biowaredun****edup The honest truth is that no MMO has ever properly balanced cloakers. Cloakers are easy to play and easy to master. We can Force run, but Sins have it also and Ops can roll. We can knock back but then again Bioware took away our 360 knock back, which means we have to face them which is counter intuitive to a class that should never have to back up. The honest answer to your question: to beat a cloaker requires sacrifices in your Utility tree. However, this is counter intuitive to playing a damage class. Seeing as to get instant Whirl Wind we have to put so many points in other places. No, #Biowaredun****edup. During their class designs they made the classic mistakes of making cloaking an easy class to play like every other MMO. What truly bothers me, they could beat us before, but our DOTs gave us a good edge, not anymore. DOTs are near useless in this game. It is the least played class... obviously so.
  3. Sap once, use stun breaker, lose half health. Stunned again, lose rest of health. Next. Add more than one cloaker you multiply the damage. It only needs to work twice. #Biowaredun****edup
  4. #Biowaredun****edup Face it, Bioware can't balance a class to save their lives. They sure as hell can write a good story, but when it comes to class design, clothes design, the such is out of their league. With one team having a single cloaker, that gives them an edge: they are the perfect point guard, and they can do the most damage in the shortest amount of time. DOTs can be removed so Sorcs/Sages are useless against them. Their rolls make no sense what-so-ever. Bioware needs a SWG style combat update and to hire some new people. Get the old SWG people in on this. At least their Spies were on par with every other class, it just took skill, like it should. Not gear.
  5. #Biowaredun****edup The honest truth is, there is nothing you can do. Cloakers/Melee have all the advantage in this game. Some say Range makes it easy for us to kite and they would be correct, if not for Bioware *********** up. The Ops can roll which makes them faster than you, the Sin can stun out of combat and both have cloak, so when the going gets tough, they can cloak, then get behind you and attack with a rear-only attack that gives them a huge advantage. The ONLY hope you have against them (which they are easy classes to play) is hope you have a competent team. You didn't, so you had no chance. In Arena and WZs, the team with the most cloakers usually wins. Doesn't it make sense that a NON Force user can move faster than a supposed Force master? Doesn't it make sense that our only method of defeating a cloaker is our DOTs and both your enemies there can remove our DOTs making us useless? If you leave a Sorc/Sage alone, they COULD be ****ed but that is still and big if. So all the other team has to do is easily dispatch the Sorc/Sage (why not disable our only real defense which is our Barrier or better yet, give the cloaker medium armor while we Range players can't seem to stay at range because they took away our 360 knock back, our 30 meter stun and they GAVE non Force users a faster movement (that roll is too much) and all cloakers the advantage. And yes, cloakers do wear medium armor. #Biowaredun****edup
  6. What server did this happen on?
  7. Here is the issue with Bioware's inability to properly plan for the future and their lack of foresight. I am a Sorc - Madness, and it makes no sense that I use the Force and my little sprint does nothing truly good in a warzone and most 1v1 (unless specialized into but only an idiot would put a point into that useless ability, it only removes imparing affects but the run time still sucks) but a "cloaker" as all cloakers are is unabalanced. Their roll takes them further and faster. They take little to no damage and the only ways to counter that roll were nerfed ( Electorcute down to 10 meters and Whirl Wind has to be speced to be instant cast). Let's not even mention that a melee-cloaking class can catch up so easily sure, but they nerfed our only real knock back (Overload) by making it a cone effect in front of us. So, if we're being chased and we shouldn't ever back up in combat, how are we supposed to knock back a roller who can easily catch up and we have no way to continually evade their roll? Please note, they have a 10 second cool down on their roll, we have 30 and up for Electrocute and the like. This is also on your head Sorc Rep. Not my Sorc Rep is for sure. That makes 0 sense. #Biowaredun****edup
  8. In my guild we have a saying: "Bioware dun ****ed up." They seem utterly incapable of balancing. They took away our 360 knock back - which I cannot tell you how much I miss; they shortened our long stun range to only 10 meters; no one worth their air uses Whirl Wind as part of their actively used abilities (maybe less than once in a blue moon); all other classes not only have better CC's, they also can escape ours and get back on our asses; out static barrier is easily broken by even the newest of players of our level; our Barrier is the only defense worth anything but is also the only of it's kind that does NOT allow us to move (most other classes have far more effective defenses that also allow full movement; for the little armor we have, we have the worst movement enhancing abilities (Force Speed is a joke compared to the roll, the leap, the cloak speed, the teleport)... Back in SWG, when they utterly "broke" the Jedi class, I had to work with the crap they gave me. So I know how to play a broken/neglected/weak class successfully, but that doesn't make it right what Bioware has failed to do. My above list are just some of the things Bioware dun ****ed up with Sorcerer. And if I had been elected as Sorc rep, these issues wouldn't be a problem. How's your current Sorc Rep working out for you? Courtney Woods promised me another election at the Boulder Cantina Crawl, but instead when the old Rep stepped down, it was given away without what was promised. October is your last chance Bioware. You can fix what is obviously neglected and unbalanced or I am canceling my subscription. #Biowaredun****edup
  9. I agree with this. But any cloaker class has these kinds of advantages. You have to be BAD at playing a cloaker class to not do basic good. Competent people rape face with a cloaker, simply because they are an easy mode class.
  10. I understand what you are saying, but I don't know if others understand me. 1. How specifically would having one set of Gear (for each advanced class) be a problem? 2. I am not married to the idea of replacing coms with materials, it was just an idea that took less than a minute. Actual brainstorming would yield perhaps better results. 3. PVP and PVE have different stat requirements ONLY because we are made to believe that, but it is not true. Theoretically, if PVP gear never existed and neither did Bolster, the PVE gear we have now would be it. So the stats we have in PVE would be same as PVP. Remember, Sorcerers and Sages are getting Accuracy on their PVP gear now, which used to be ONLY in PVE gear. So having one Gear would be the long term solution. 4. The New Comer gear vendor would be redundant with my idea. The gear you leveled is what you would bring into War Zones. You brought it into Flashpoints and some lower level ops. You don't really need "the best" gear until Eternity Vault and by then you should have access to a group and a method to obtain better gear. People. I am all for the grind of gear, as it gives the illusion of working towards/earning something. However the method in which we do it could be incredibly more immersive and simplified, than it is now. Bolster is only an adhesive-strip on a deep gash, and two types of gear is an illusion spun to foster a compulsion. Please, if you disagree, list the reasoning. Give examples, otherwise you only give an empty argument. Bioware, please consider this idea. It DOES work, it WILL fix most if not all the exploiting in PVP gearing and improve the game as a whole.
  11. You only need to scale because the other "guy" has it scaled also. You take out Bolster, you take out Expertise, then there is no purpose to have them. You have just Gear at that point. As long as the Gear is obtainable fairly in both PVP and PVE without having to do the other, then to what purpose is Bolster and Expertise? Part of the mission is to work towards your gear, this is PVP and PVE. Once you have it, you are fully stated out, except for whatever augments you wish to add. I am not saying take out the gear grind, I am saying, just take out the separation of the two types of gear and just have one. We need the amount of each stat from PVE gear for PVE, so keep the amount of each number. That way, there is no inability based on your gear, for either activity. This also makes it easier for casual players to jump into War Zones and Ops, since the gear they obtain through normal story missions is just as viable at their level for PVP AND PVE.
  12. I have plenty of experience in Ranked and Regular PVP. Next time, come up with a point to critique and not make passive-aggressive comments. To those that think that only Bolster should be fixed or removed, that is only half the issue. The other half is that there are two kinds of gear, PVP and PVE. I ask this question of those who believe that there is a need for the two types of gear: what would happen if there was only one type of Gear? Keep the PVE level of stats, but just remove Bolster and Expertise. What would happen?
