  1. Yes, I buff. I especially love stealth-buffing newbies on my Scoundrel and Shadow. The reactions are usually pretty funny
  2. I've also noticed the same thing. I feel like it's because of the nature of the community, which in turn is because of the nature of the game. SWTOR's strong point is obviously the story and the setting, and not so much the actual gameplay. -- Now, before I continue let me state that I consider myself a casual player too, my intention is not to insult anybody -- That being said, I feel like the game's playerbase is really, well, casual. I mean the game has a one second global cooldown, and having read the odd thread about PvP or keyboard-turning, well majority of the players seem to either be really new to MMOs, or just very relaxed, casual players, who don't mind about the "best" performance. I'm seeing these relaxed views from the same people who get offended if you criticize their ideas, suggestions or opinions. This leads me to believe, it's just the way the community is. Again, not trying to insult anybody, and sorry if I've offended. It's just what I feel is the cause of this.
  3. I know how you feel. It's so exciting to make a new character with that perfect look, made up from bits and pieces of adaptive cartel gear, which you can keep upgrading with mods as you level. In other MMOs I used to love to get new pieces of gear, but having a definitive look during the whole course of your class story in SWTOR is just great! Another picture of my marauder. As to the idea suggestions, I don't really have one... what I like to do, is just mix and match gear in the preview window, until something great comes out (and then immediately roll a new alt, just so I can utilize that look )
  4. I'm seconding this, I don't think I use the default appearance on any of my companions, and it feels really strange, seeing the default looks.
  5. I'm wondering what kind of settings people are using here? My Razer Naga is always at 3000 dpi (without any acceleration of course), whether I'm in any game, or just on the desktop, and my SWTOR sensitivity has always been at 0, because anything over a 5 (yes, a 5, not 50) is crazy fast... However while the GS controls took some getting used to, I don't find the mouse overly sensitive there, and I can fly my scout just fine. This makes me wonder if it has something to do with the sensitivity setting in-game? Maybe try raising your dpi, and lower the in-game setting, see if that makes any difference?
  6. +1 for this. I've been hoping to make a purple Twi'lek since before launch! At this point, they'd make a great CM unlock, just like the Mirialan, Chiss and Human ones. (Also, Wookieepedia does list purple as one possible skin color for Twi'leks, along with brown, pink and white etc.)
  7. It saddens me how dead Torhead is compared to Wowhead. Most of the data is old or just plain wrong, though this is probably because you can't access the game's API and there's no addons, so collecting it is harder. The comment section on many entries is very much empty, too. I realize that both WoW and Wowhead's been around for quite some time now, so the site has had time to grow (not to mention how absolutely huge the WoW community is), but it still makes me sad.
  8. Yeah, I guess I can see that. People seem to still make it a bigger problem than it is, but that's internet I guess.
  9. Because the computer is a cheating bastard?
  10. To be honest, I'm more tired of seeing people and their companions in skimpy stripperific clothing as opposed to all the Jedi's in full Eradicator. However, people can dress up their characters how they please, who am I to judge?
  11. Although I do support the idea of having the option of turning double exp off, I've always wondered -- why is overleveling such a bad thing? Surely skipping the boring quests you've probably seen many times already, and just getting all the story is good, no? Also, if you're one of those people who want to do every single quest ever, surely overleveling doesn't matter here either, since you can go through it all so much faster, right? Also, if I were to stick around doing all the gray quests, I'd probably feel more immersed, since I can now just cut people down in couple of hits with my lightsaber (like I should) instead of just whacking at them as if my lightsaber was made of wood or something. I'm genuinely curious.
  12. I might be preaching to the choir here, but I just wanted to say, I don't understand the people (not necessarily OP, but all the other guys in the other threads during the last few double exp weekends) who dislike double exp weekends. I mean, I have SW, BH and IA at lvl 50, currently working on SI, who is on Hoth, and I've seen the planetary arcs and side quests so many times already, it's really really boring. Double exp weekends allow me to skip the worst quests and focus on the story, which to me is the real meat of the game (I basically play SWTOR almost like it's KOTOR 3). Also, even if I were to complete every quest and have multiple planets worth of grey stuff, I wouldn't mind, since 1. it goes so fast by anyway, and 2. killing mobs with lightsaber-wielding classes feels more authentic since you can really slice people up left and right, instead of just whacking at them for a minute or so. I still think having the choice to turn it off would be ok, since more choice is almost always good, but I just personally don't see the point of it.
  13. I don't frequent the forums, and now I'm curious. What changes?
  14. Personally, I just want to see the Togruta. And on that note, some kind of fix for the Twi'lek lekkus, like the option to wear them over your shoulders, on the front as to avoid clipping with Bounty Hunter jetpacks or certain headgear (like hoods, though they'd still need a new model). That's all I want when it comes to species, really.
