  1. I've been active on other parts of the forum, though for some reason it wasn't until today until I thought to look for a healing forum. Well, lo and behold, I found it easy enough. Unfortunately, when I got here I was rather disturbed by the content of the posts. IT'S ALL COMPLAINING. Now, I'm not going to lie, and I'm not going to pretend that I haven't done my fair share of whining. However, what I'm seeing here is whining about things that are controllable, not things that are completely out of our hands. People complain about lack of mouseover healing, about HoT tracking, about AoE healing range, and other little tidbits of things that just generally aren't required. I was very concerned about all of these things, as I was coming from WoW where I had addons for everything down to wiping my *** after a nice poo, though I realized very early on that those are luxuries, not necessities. I didn't come here to be overly elitist, and I didn't come here to do my own whining, (which I've already done a little bit >_>) but I came here to start a discussion based around successful healing, things that you think have been done correctly, and some things that you'd like to see more of. For example, while heals may be a little underpowered, I feel that the mobility behind a Sawbones Smuggler makes for exciting and dynamic healing and overall gameplay. I like having the option of HoTing up the tank and letting him fend for himself for a bit, while running into someone else's range to fire off a quick Emergency Medpac. What do you like about your healers?
  2. I come from WoW, where I had mouseover healing capability through addons like Healbot. I figured healing would be a nightmare in this game, but my thoughts are generally summed up by a comment on the first page of this post.
  3. I honestly stopped reading this thread due to all of the QQ and Sage glorification. Are Sages really strong healers? Yes. If it's such a big deal, reroll already. Leave the classes like Sawbones to people that feel like maneuvering around the shortcomings to still put out the amount of heals required to succeed. I'm sure it's been said, but the key to the Sawbones is mobility. Through Slow-Release Medpac, Kolto Cloud, and Emergency Medpac (2 HoTs and an insta-cast) We're easily more mobile than any other healer. I spend most of my time during Operations running around, using mobility to my advantage. On SoA in particular, I think that Scoundrels are possibly the strongest healers. When we started, we would do the platform phase by stopping every few platforms to let myself and the sage get some heals up, mostly using the Sage's Salvation. Well, I've learned to maneuver my abilities and energy management, as well as relic/adrenal cooldowns, to keep the entire raid healed up throughout the entirety of the platforming phase. With Kolto Cloud as well as a few individually tossed out SRMPs, I've got rolling hots on basically the entire raid. Not to mention via SRMP UH procs, I usually get at least one or two Emergency Medpac insta-heals per platform. Soa is just one example of when I feel mobility is key, Bonethrasher being another, though I won't make this post entirely long. TL;DR: To everyone complaining about their class and glorifying Sages, go play a Sage. I'm not hating on Sages, though I do hate Flavor of the Month players that aren't satisfied until their mechanics are on top.
  4. You really don't need anything to start Normal Operations or hard mode flashpoints. PvP gear is quite easy to get, and helps out, but honestly gear only starts getting required for Hard Mode/Nightmare Mode Operations.
  5. This reminds me, I know that Rakata Weapons were dropping, though when redeemed were the equivalent of Tionese gear. While I've seen this confirmed via guild mates, my own Rakata Off-Hand drop from HM EV last week had the appropriate stats and Item Level. Can anyone confirm whether or not this bug was fixed in the last patch?
  6. Off hand, I’d have to add the Pylon (Puzzle) bug on Hard Mode Eternity Vault. Sometimes, during completion, the terminals become unclickable after solving the second row, in which case the group has to exit the instance, reset, and clear all of the jungle trash leading up to the Ancient Pylon boss again.
  7. I did it easily enough at level 29 as a sawbones. Step 1: Stand a bajillion feet away. Step 2: Heal Bowdaar. Step 3: ??? Step 4: Profit.
