  1. 3v3 their power lies in higher numbers, but ranged dps like merc BH or trooper with the big gun might be very strong too, just their stun capability and mobility is weak compared to that of sorc, which is a requirement in warzones and means nothing in the tatooine arena. Ranged > melee due to focus fire, which is why grapple is so great, because it allows you as melee pull the enemy out of its pack into yoru damage zone. If you played Ilum you would have noticed that mass melee charges always failed, but pulls would work wonders and the rest is all ranged aoe/ damage.
  2. Ops are still strong but I am a shieldtech and do not have a pvp tree, but I still manage to fight them/ kill them and sometimes I lose (when I am out of stuns). You want to break their cycle (stun) do melee damage and take room (They have to walk to you) once in range you might take 1 or 2 hits before you use the 2nd stun and repeat the melee and get a bit of range. This is what works for my shieldtech tree I am sure with a proper PvP spec as shieldtech is a super waste full of useless stuff it would be even more doable. Also remember that the damage is in the opening so if you can pop a shield or other damage reduction use it their cycles.
  3. No PvP imbalances, many bugs, medicore game engine, many features missing: guild forum, rp + opposing side, rp/ chat bubbles, end game content, armor sets, dual tree (pvp/ pve), economy, proper crafting etc...
  4. I play a lot of warzones and while shieldtech or any tank spec is utter crap in PvP I still can handle snipers. I think that says a lot. The only annoying thing is that I have to cc to close the gap when they are covered. Without a proper option to close the gap I understand why you should fear giving the sniper too much damage, but right now snipers are still doable you only have to worry the veterans, new snipers can even be ignored is most warzones as you ditch them by going behind and object and if they go out of cover to follow,.. I can close the gap. Not playing a sniper, hope this helps this class to get some more attention.
  5. Stop ruining PvP. If you want organised non medal PvP, you need to have a team to PvP with (4/ 8 players). If there is one side winning because people do not play the way you wish, there is still one side doing things correctly. In this sense PvP in warzones is just like FP PvP. The trashy servers gets you one sided frustrating PvP, the organised team games and pirvate servers give you quality. Let's force everyone to be a quality player? People just stop playing, because you take away how they want to play the game, which is by no means directly hurting the game... they are still pvp-ing, but just not winning the warzone. There are two sides here. 1. Do not allow premades and team/ rated PvP it kills off the random PvP-ers. 2. Please implement rated PvP and kill off anything not related to objectives. Guess what both these sides are wrong, try and have both and you satisfy more people.
  6. Maybe it is bugged for me only, but I got 9 medals spread over objective, protection, dps and kills and the warzone wins, but only 1025 valor. 1025 has been my max since the last patch win or lose 1025... For most without great gear and multiple PvP sets like me. 1000 valor used to be the best average to get out of a warzone and I doubt the average is now at 2k and so far I am now no longer able to go beyond the 1025. There are multiple calculations to be found on the forums and even the very optimistic ones puts you on hours (days) of warzones to get from 50 to 60. Here is a gist for you 2000 valor average. 10min warzone average (exlcuding the warzone waiting times, which would push this one way up) 250k from 50 to 60 assuming you can play this game 8 hours a day would put you on 3 days. Alas things are never this good, no the turth is an average of 20min per warzone and roughly a 7min waiting time 27. The average valor from warzones is 1000 valor and most people get maybe 4 hours done. Doing that puts you on 28 days of your average gaming for 4 hours a day each day. This one here can tell you that it took 31- 33 warzones (bit of count mismatch) and 22 warzone wins to level up from 55 to 56. Fact is PvP has gotten poor, the people who I play against and the people on my random team. Server stats says we're still one of the more active servers for the EU: The Progenitor.
  7. LMAO I never played wow, swtor is my first MMO in this style (Played eve-o a few years back). The end game is bad. There is now no decent way to catch up with a BM, you can earn about 1k (= average) valor per warzone, that is it... First we let players cheat to BM in basically one day, than we reduce it, but for those with a decent server balance the cheaters can be caught up with normal Ilum PvP.... so we kill off Ilum PvP. NOTE: Ilum was working on The Progenitor, I had several large clashes with republic or empire holding the center. FIX: It is boring to be overpowered and it is no fun being underpowered, the gear gaps in PvP should be as small as possible. Centurion/ champion/ BM should not be about better gear, but perhaps about having the options to more looks and more varied relics PvP was bad because of medal farmers or so many whined, so we nerf that, but for many classes and players a lot of medals are gained playing the objective. To satisfy the whiners here you need TEAM BASED PvP.... there is none and all the pvp-ers have left before it even starts. FIX: Rated and team games, this gives the quality people are looking for and still aloows randoms to freely play their medal games in randoms. Increase options do not give on side all and take away from the other crowd. Try and please both. Moment after moment only the worst has been done to "improve" PvP. Like at each stage of a sick person they manage to adminster the wrong drug/ medicine. FIX: Unless you get a proper player feedback system do not implement changes based on rant posts. The whole "bad warzone games" mentality that many have is not due to medals, but more due to missing teh option for organised play. In FP you got your pro servers and pirvate servers to cater both crowds PvP is getting worse because the better PvP-ers have left and I will leave too when my sub runs out. In fact many many players will let their sub run out that took the +2 month package. FIX: A lot more content. I will resub if there will be enough new content to play or interesting PvP and crafting mechanics are implemented. It is perhaps nice to have a cross-server PvP option for warzones. People that got the one day BM you almost never see on anymore. It gets boring when things become easy and the new lvl 50 influx is just not capable to compete and there is no way for a decent 8 man premade. FIX: The gear in PvP is to heavy weight, new 50s are easily crushed which is just as bad as an experience for me as it is for them. From day 1 the market was a dead market with little use and crafting excludes any and all interaction with the community. There are no server forums, there is no decent way to RP with the opposing faction, let alone RP with your own faction. Players can do "4 things" that interact with other players: 2 OPS 3 Warzones FP (to easy, many find uninteresting) Ilum ( do I need to say more? ) Unless you enjoy levelling multiple characters there is not a lot to do and guess what? There are single player games with a lot better missions and stories out that will only require you to pay 1 time. The personal story lines are not that great compared to many solo player games and the bounty hunter STILL has no decent ending. Tanks in this game have no mitigation in PvP… ok fine we understand but our dps and our energy system are tied into our tanking stats/ mechanics, none of it works without procs. No dps and no tanking it ruins chances at decent 1v1, the only people you can take on are the bad players. FIX: Give shield specialized players a chance to proc their damage and energy based skills. The only decent change they have implemented is the DOT objectives for warzone. They fix carbonize only to break it again one patch later (if you use it often you will see it does not always work). So once more we can do the one thing we are all here for and that is bug report. There is more bug reporting than endgame content. FIX: There needs to be better communication or a better management for the DEV team. there is no reason for old bugs to come back into the game. I wanted this game to work, it is my first MMO, but the multiplayer concept is completely broken. Costumer support has been non existant, but this is to be expected from a Bioware game. WHY: A harsh statement, but a lot of the Mass Effect 2 DLC was not properly working and some of it never ever was patched even excluding several regions from DLC, because it did not work for their region or lacked the content. So ME2 patching/ support never impressed me Maybe one day I come back after my sub has run out. The first bits of levelling was fun and the game isn´t a bad game, but it just is not great and it just is not a proper multiplayer game yet.
  8. "exploited are big words" I do think it will make stun/ grabs easier as my response is always to get dot before I got stunned 24/7, which probably takes away the response you had. It is an iprovment as voidstar never got beyond the 1st doors in good 50 games... dot till you respawn, but a side-effect might be that push/ stun on a defender and having no proper reply against snipes will become a bit too powerful to be fair and balanced.
  9. On Ilum 3 times in a solo the trooper or whatever goes poof and no animation. I assume it is a warzone as I warzone on Ilum too and sometimes use the poof trick if cowardly republics make a 1v1 into a 1v(1+x). On that note I also go into warzones and come back and find out the center has been taken and poof in the middle of a republic group, while prior to entering the warzone is was imps goign around the shark pit. I do agree that it seems to happen more often, but one reason for this is that people that go into warzones go on Ilum to get the bonus buff that grants you extra valor for warzones.
  10. I often am one of the higher dps-ers with my supercommando/ tech armor and being shieldtech. It is all about knowing the rotations, but every other class that knows its rotations well should be able to beat you 1v1. Most enemies even BM know nothing about their classes and you win fights. In terms of dps things do not divert heavily, between the trees, the biggest difference lies in the heat management systems and the way the rotations work and here comes the 'big' difference from. Pyros are great 1v1 with their damage bypassing almost all mitigation and arsenal combine great in teams with armor debuffs, where they can outshine pyros. The biggest set-back as a shieldtech is that our heat management and dps is severely suffering from not having our shields proc at all in pvp (or barely). This is the big fail on biowares side and because you are so severely gimped you will become better at PvP. Those at a natural set-back need to develop their rotations/ strategies etc. to win.
  11. Thanks for the clear answer. I agree with the growing sentiment that this game lacks content. Yes the missions are done well with each character having their own storyline, but nothing is unique, nothing is made by players it does not feel like a MMORPG not to me and the 3 pvp zones and 2 ops are getting boring. I do think GW2 might be interesting because of the server vs server vs server. A friend of my used to play DAOC and mentioned that as being very fun (never played it myself). You cooperate with your server population and if at any time people need to cooperate there is immersion into the game world. The only way to properly cooperate in this game is in pvp and the ops, because the FP for just 4 man are too easy and very uncomplicated and also open world pvp is not working that well, these two aspects lack immersion. The lead designers seems to have missed this aspect of a multiplayer game. There seems a lot of "inactive time" used for traveling after a wipe-out or just the "waiting" for a warzone to begin and this also does not help the immersion people want. Multiplayer customers are generally hard-core and the single player component is only enjoyed by a limited few and that part simply does not compare to real single player rpgs.
  12. So what you are saying is that everyone should unsub and wait a year or unsub and play a different game that in its current state has more to offer? Do you say STO is now better than SWTOR and we should try it out, because after 1 year it has become so good? I got one MMO: SWTOR, but I fail to understand the point you are trying to make. If you pay for something you pay because you want it and it is new or better than other products right? If the next macbook is worse than the one already on the market or laptops from competitors , than who will buy it? You buy what currently is best and saying updates will fix things means that you know that other games are not updated? I see this comment everywhere, but no one eleborates on it. Could you explain me why you say this?
  13. We should fly yes and replace shoulder slam with an action that plays the Ride of the Valkyries. See how I balance things we lose damage for the ability to fly and a social ability, that is fair. Every single time the Republics hear the starting roar of wagners music they flee in different directions and run from the true "deaths from above" that approach in an epic V formation V for Victory! A bit like Apocalypse now: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gz3Cc7wlfkI
  14. It is an endurance buff not direct HP buff. If I am 20k I do not get 1k extra HP (around 800). This has most likely to do with some base HP's which are not tied to endurance. There is a 5% crit buff There is a buff with 5% to damage There is one with a damage buff and 10% reduction on elemental damage (pvp!). All sustained buffs that either help heals or prolonged fights... Endurance is a 1 time almost insignificant buff it is quite literally only 1 hit. I have to agree that it is a pretty poor buff, but the class is still ok.
  15. Sad server you have, we got good functioning large fights. Anyways the 1 day BM that is very much true, it no longer happens but it did happen and BW made a statement to adress the people which they never did. I pretty much lvl-ed pvp-ing having 2-3 planets left in my story when I was already lvl 50. I know I was one of the highest in valor on my server because I kept looking and checking others and b00m over a day (~week) people that were behind me passed me, all the while I was still pvp-ing. It takes a ridiculous high amount of warzones to just level. You need long games and need to win games, but if you can sustain an average of 1k valor per warzone you do well. Assuming the 250k is correct 250*20/60 = 84 hours. This is excluding the waiting time needed for warzones. If you play 3 hours a day this amounts to 28 days. If you play non-stop and get a non-stop warzone chain you do it in 3.5days, which is quite inhumane or borderline impossible. Does this image picture the level of cheating the early BM did more clearly? On the progenitor it was quite clear which guilds had the most lvl 60's after this moment and people do not favour them well and they got a pretty bad reputation on the republic side.
