This is the key thing for a LOT of people who are totally fresh to this mmo or who havent read up on it advance (I'd say the majority of people playing actually!). The choice when given isnt described well enough to give indication that it is non changeable! Anyway, its hardly the end of the world, I just wont use it....

What he said, queues are expected but surely that implies the servers are busy/full, they are NOT! EA has obviously an interesting definition of capacity planning if they think that servers with 1.75k people on are full and that people will happily sit in 2-4hr queues (oh and the joy of a queue after you've been dc'd....)

at the OP, your post makes a LOT of sense, the numbers ordered and expected are high but you are missing one thing, these queues on servers have no more than 1k players on, the fullest of the full is virtually deserted in game! The game is good, it has a lot of great potential but its quite obvious that the hardware does not meet the requirements and given the experiences you detailed quite correctly from other MMO's you'd think the capacity planners would have been all over this, no? If EA wanted to make a dent in the mmo that beats all other mmo's they should have been better prepared, as it stands, those players who want to leave that game may very well not solely because they cant actually.....play. you know, the thing people pay their cash for..

The trolling in your post aside it would almost make sense if you hadnt overestimated the numbers per server. The hardware cannot meet the requirements of the software which is why servers are full and queued from 7am in the morning when they have 750+ players online.

That does indeed sound rational and may even have some truth in it! However its too simplistic to be the truth, they can show servers as capped to encourage new players to 'move along' and actually let players in on those servers (if its a 'pretend' queue as you surmise), the fact this is NOT whats happening makes me think that you are probably slightly off the mark. Oh and re-queueing ppl after dc's fits into this genius plan how?

Frankly pathetic reply, this is NOT what happens when an MMO launches, the capacity numbers on the servers mean that even when they are flagged as 'full' with a 500 queue they are virtually deserted. I've played many mmo's and yes queues are part of the package but I have never seen 24hr a day queues to enter virtually deserted servers. The hardware obviously does not meet the software requirements, the only other time I can recall something like this was in Vanilla WoW when Blizzard realised they could not live up to their promise of world pvp so desperately released BG's to stop people fighting in Tarren Mill/SouthShore. At least they were talking 10's of thousands per server unlike these wastelands.

Disconnected, log back in and at the back of a 503 player queue that will last for hours, are you joking? You need to review your queueing mechanism to give random internet shiz affected people the chance to get back in without having to wait in those frankly PATHETIC queues. Take a leaf from Blizzards book on queueing mechanisms!

The problem is you are quoting a 3hrs old twitter post when there's been more since saying that its not yet over for the night and that they are monitoring the servers. whilst well intentioned i'm sure, your post is misleading.
