  1. I think Void Star is about as capital ship we get, probably be another version on a Repub ship... anything more needs a space revamp as it's nothing more than a 80's style space shooter. But for 'housing' you have your own ship, and Devs explained chances of getting more are not doable since some companion story lines are tied with them. Probably an instance ship back at your faction main fleet that only guild members will ever see since you need to be in the guild to board. Everyone's guild ship would pretty much be in the same spot. Reason I saw that is, again, current engine cannot handle massive players... ironic isn't it?
  2. Well this is an argument, but quite the weak one. Let me refer you to DAoC open-world RvR, where it was quite possible for a group of players to launch quick strikes against enemy keeps. We often took control of a keep, fortified/upgraded it before any real response from the enemy. Often held it for half the day despite being outnumbered severely. The point is, allowing the proper terrain & bases you can make a small group cause all sorts of grief to the enemy. I think it's an excuse to support a player limiting MMO continue with instances. Nothing personal tot he few that enjoy playing warzones all day.... Plus in 1.2 they have removed Ilum PvP quests entirely.
  3. That is, open-world with any real purpose. The reason I say that, and no it's not because of BW focusing on warzones and making Ilum even less appealing, is because of the instance issue. You can't have any static objectives such as fortresses/outposts/bases/planets to capture, fortify, assault & defend when only a maximum 100 players can be even on the same planet. So players 101 & up will be on a completely fresh planet unable to help their faction, but they can take control of the new planet's bases, but only until the instance is running! It seems many new MMOGs don't use the right engine to support massive players! Things like warzones are repetitive and get boring, sure you earn coins to upgrade your armor... to do those same instances again and again. Yes, there is ranking in 1.2 but again, do warzones over & over to go to some web page to see how you're ranking. Not sure how hard it will be for them to actually have open-world PvP with purpose, like games such as original DAoC. Environment manipulation like SWG, or even end-game content like UO! Just my 2 cent, but don't think we'll ever see open-world PvP content and everything Devs are doing only supports it.
  4. Forced to agree, they have been steering away from any meaningful open-world PvP to warzones. Although, the major problem is with the engine. Since even an instance cannot hold mroe than 100 players open-world PvP with any real purpose is impossible.
  5. Probably takes everyone's wins/losses by faction/class/level and posts them on a page where you can go stare at... I personally want some even purposeful open-world PvP but looks like the direction they're heading is warzones. Not a good sign for me.
  6. Wrong, Legacy will only make players roll a toon to 50 or whatever required if the reward is that good. It will destroy guilds though.
  7. Then re-roll if you don't like it. My server there is more Republic heathen then Imperial and still never much of a wait. You on a PvE server? Just like you others chose what they wanted to play, nothing should force them to play something they don't like. Deal with it.
  8. 1) Ilum sucked, it was pointless other than the daily/weekly. They should have done the reverse and steer away from warzones... opposite direction IMHO. Open world PvP with purpose should have been their focus. 2) As a BM, don't care. MMOs change and many never stay the same as they were at launch. Deal with it. Second, I rather fight someone on even ground to make a more challenging fight and sweeter victory. 3) Yes easier, reward players in other ways other than lopsided PvP. 4) Good riddens, how cheap is it that you kill the smuggler holding a turret node but unable to cap before he is able to take the speeder right back only to re-apply the DoTs before you can kill him? Sounds like you prefer the easy wins over a good fight.
  9. I am curious of what's in store beyond patch 1.2, namely in areas of actual end-game content for PvP. Are you able to share some of what's coming down the pipe?
  10. Warzones need to die, open-world PvP with purpose needs to be replacing it.
  11. You're a true something alright, but a 'true' PvPer is not it. If that was actually true you would care for medals either and just straight out fighting against enemy players. Everyone has their own definition of what true PvP is, for me the closest example is original DAoC.
  12. It would be awesome as long as a single enemy players cannot just land, walk up to one of these control bases, pull a bazooka out of arse and blow it away without even a scratch. There should be fortifications you should be able to buy & place, reinforce armors around vehicles/doors/walls, upgrade guards maybe with guild valor points. An entire ops group should still take some time breaking defenses so the other side may have a chance to assemble and defend the base. On that note, be nice to see guild alliance ability along with chats, and maybe even a server wide call to arms 'chat'.
  13. Also a melee, so feel your pain but since you can't even move on Ilum then no point there. Seriously though, let's say you hit Valor 60 tomorrow.... then what? Do the exact same thing your doing now but for BM bags? Then when your fully geared? Go stare and some web site url to see where you rank in cheese ball warzones? Point is, if your feeling the grind then take a break. Try something else for a while or scale back.
  14. He did post some ideas, many of the same ones I request. Imagining capturing a contested world, and then fortifying it and doing so results in a small (non PvP) buff for your entire faction? People would be motivated even if it was a 5% bonus to crafting crrits.
