  1. Hey TOR community, I would just like to say thanks for helping me out earlier. I actually figured out my problem and it turned out to be something with the processor being overclocked and the processor fan. http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=96653 Here is my thread, thanks again for helping me out and replying, surprisingly kind community!
  2. Where do I see that whole certification thing?
  3. UPDATE: No, apparently the FPS isn't actually back to normal. Switched some settings and it turned out that it went back down to giving me 30-40 for no reason.
  4. UPDATE: So it seems by messing with some stuff in the nVidia control panel, I've received perfect FPS - the only thing that I don't understand now is why Vertical Sync is grayed out on the game. It never was before, and I haven't switched any setting to make it like that...hmm... Vertical sync is grayed out? Screenshot ^ Edit: Yes, my monitor's refresh rate is 59, don't even ask.
  5. Thanks - the only thing that I have with this is that I have a 950w power supply that was being used on the old machine and it worked perfectly fine. I don't really think that this i7 is more or less power-hungry than the AMD processor that I had a few days ago. Maybe the 560 is, but I don't think that it really is enough to make that big of a difference. This power supply is able to support this machine, no doubt.
  6. Just checked my installed programs - nothing but Windows updates/framework/C++ stuff and nVidia drivers. Nothing else. Thanks for the reply though!
  7. See, I'm doing everything that you guys are telling me to do - turning off shadows, leaving it at high. But to no avail, I still seem to be getting very low FPS. Vertical sync is turned off and my nVidia control panel settings are as follows: Ambient Occlusion - Off // Anisotropic Filtering - Application-controlled // Antialiasing - Gamma Correction - Off // Antialiasing - Mode - Application-controlled // Antialiasing - Transparency - Off // CUDA - GPUs - All // Maximum pre-rendered frames - 3 // Multi-display/mixed-GPU acceleration - Single display performance mode // Power management mode - Prefer maximum performance // Texture filtering - Anisotropic sample optimization - On // Texture filtering - Negative LOD bias - Allow // Texture filter - Quality - High performance // Texture-filtering - Trilinear optimization - On // Threaded optimization - On // Triple buffering - Off // Verical sync - Use the 3D application setting (I leave this off all of the time) Thanks for the replies, all. I'm glad this community will actually put some time into helping others - impressive.
  8. Thanks very much, I really appreciate it. But, no I haven't been using the client from early access as I just finished this computer last night - I downloaded SWTOR last night while I was sleeping from the website, actually. The only thing that I can say is that last night the computer overheated and crashed, but I don't know if it was during the download or not. But, I highly doubt that it could affect performance in any way as that's just raw video card/processor stuff. I really don't understand it. I just tried setting it from high to low and nothing happened, no noticeable FPS gain or loss. I will check and recheck my drivers and everything, but I am most sure that they are updated completely as I downloaded them last night again.
  9. I think I've tried this, and I've heard that as well, but I'll try it again. The only thing that I've heard is that this game is more processor intensive than video card intensive. I'm playing on a 27" monitor @ 1920x1080 as well. I can't say that I understand what's going on here really, I have nearly the same specs as you...wow.
  10. Hello SWTOR community. First off, I'm Osr and I play a Jedi Guardian on Iron Citadel, an eastern PvP server. I'm having an insane amount of trouble trying to run this game that it's actually become frustrating to me. I'm gonna list two systems that I have had the game so far and then explain my problem. New system: Processor: Intel i7 Bloomfield @ 3.0 gHz Video card: nVidia GTX 560 Ti RAM: 12gb Mushkin Enhanced RAM (Triple channel) Drive 1: 128gb SSD (Win7 + SWTOR installed on this) Drive 2: 750gb HDD @ 7200 RPM OS: Windows 7 Old system: Processor: AMD X4 955 Quad-core @ 3.2 gHz Video card: Radeon HD 5770 1gb RAM: 4gb (Can't remember the brand) Drive: 750gb HDD @ 7200 RPM (SWTOR installed on this, same drive as used in new system) OS: Windows 7 Now that that's all out of the way, I just built the new system up there. It is freshly built, all that is on it is Google Chrome, Ventrilo, Steam and a few steam games, and SWTOR. The drivers for my video card are updated properly. With my older system I used to get about 60-80 FPS on average, today I loaded up SWTOR and headed over to Voss only to find out that I, on average, get about 30-50 FPS. All graphical settings are low, everything is at the least possible complexity. Does anyone else have any issue related to this or know what a possible fix for it could be? Because I know that I should not be running this game at such a low FPS - it's just not right. Thanks for any help guys, I'd really appreciate it. - Osr
