  1. True. I meant Ezra though, that Ezra's basically nobody because he presumably doesn't survive the purge because he's not around in the original movies and he was a new character, as far as I know, introduced just in this show. The trailer for the 2nd half of this season though, on youtube now, shows Ezra literally facing off with the Emperor, flanked by three Loth-wolves, presumably about to engage Siddious in combat. This somewhat strains suspension of disbelief but it's all sci-fi so I can take it.
  2. I'm looking forward to the remaining episodes. I think it's wise to end a series while it's not become trite yet. I think it's a little strange to think of the Emperor making an appearance, even facing off vs Ezra if the second half of the season trailer is to be believed, when we never heard of him before. I assume that most or all of them will die in some heroic mission, and that these Rebels, the ones we've been watching for some years, their sacrifice will have been pivotal in allowing the events of A New Hope to take place. When I saw Rogue One and how writers tied that into the franchise I was somewhat disappointed because I had hoped that would be how they tied up loose ends in Rebels, with Bridger, Jarrus, Sendula, Wren, the big alien, and Chopper, all dying to make sure the plans for the Death Star got to the rebellion. Maybe they will end up delaying the Vader's fleet so Leia's ship can get the plans before she gets captured and before the droids take the escape pod to Tatooine..
  3. It's special snowflakes in space now, the franchise. It makes zero sense why some street urchin with no known Force-using bloodline would be a strong, perhaps one of the strongest yet, force users, and with nearly zero training. Luke was a different story. He was son of Anakin Skywalker. Padme, back when midichlorians were canon, was said to have had high levels of those, so a union between those two bloodlines, with half the stock being the Prophecied One, meant Luke could get by with a couple days on Degoba with Yoda and his experience plunking womprats. On the other hand, Rey is nobody, if Ren is to be believed. How then can she possibly hang in combat with him, grandson of Anakin Skywalker? The only satisfying answer would have been one the writers didn't make, that she was somehow offspring of Kenobi or another strong force user. The force runs in families, I have it, you have it, our father has it, etc, etc. So the real explanation for why Rey is a strong force user who can split boulders and make Luke scared is that it is politically correct that a nobody with no training and no bloodlines can be excellent.
  4. I just had this recur in a warzone on my sniper. I died, spawned, had the guy I was just in combat with still in my target reticle, still pictured and named. I was still in combat, couldn't rest or swap relics. I had no DoTs on me in the spawn. The instant I hit Escape button to clear target reticle I was dropped out of combat.
  5. I agree with OP. I think premades in unranked PvP or solo ranked ruins the PvP experience for many players, hence all the leaving, or one reason for all the leaving at least. I know it's disheartening to hear the announcer in Girada The Hutt's Arena talking about two teams, "chosen by random draw", when you know full well the other side is a rigged premade with balanced classes in it and near top gear all around.
  6. yeah I just noticed this too. Not sure if it's DoT related as I had occasionally had my assassin specced out for DoTs but recall no problem entering stealth and staying in stealth mid-combat. nowadays I play a sniper and he's DoT specced currently. I have found myself locked in combat for probably as long as a minute as OP describes. I've been locked in combat after death for almost half a minute in the spawn area, and then continuing for as long as about a half a minute after I'm allowed to leave spawn. Also sometimes when this happens I notice that I have an enemy player targetted, probably the one who just killed me or at least whoever I had targetted when I died. It strikes me that this should not occur. On death when you spawn you should not ever still have an enemy player targetted. So maybe it's that that player was still in combat which caused me to remain so? The distance in such cases was great, the distance between me and the enemy player still targetted after respawn. I think this might be a new issue with a recent patch.
  7. Yes, it's like inherent in Star Wars storytelling about the Dark Side or the Sith is this caricature component, an inextricable moral lesson that evil is evil. If storylines were actually told from a so-called evil perspective there should be no such moralizing because from the evil perspective, evil is good.
  8. Evil in Star Wars games seems to mean just the antithesis of whatever the good guys, the Republic and the Jedi, would do. Evil is not three dimensional in this universe, it is cartoonish, a caricature. So I wouldn't get my hopes up looking for evil storylines because I didn't find any. I favor Empire characters but the stories were not what I would consider evil. Star Wars is not about jumping into evil and making dark seem gray. They're not into nuance and when you do a Dark Side action in game it's usually obvious. I would recommend you roll an Imperial Agent and see if you like the story. It's not so much evil as manipulative. There are secrets all around you, about you, and you're pushing some lies while being the target of others.
  9. My introduction to ingame role playing was when I was running around Tatooine exploring on my Sith Assassin. I saw this spot on the map and thought to head in that direction. Turns out it was the Sarlacc Pit. As I approached I saw this guild of Jedi standing around conducting some kind of initiation rite or ceremony. I figured the best way to preserve their immersion was for me to stealth up and Overload the bulk of them into the Sarlacc Pit to be digested slowly for a thousand years. I did that and felt happy for having no doubt increased the enjoyment of their playstyle.
  10. Just turn off general chat. Right click on your chatbox and then remove the tick mark for General so that you can run around the fleet and see no chat unless someone whispers you or talks in 'Say' or in 'Yell'. You can turn off all of those too. This is the only way I can have some semblance of peace and not risk getting banned again for replying to the idiots in general chat.
  11. Oh thank you very much, Tsiliah. I got a 242 rated modification from the command crates as well as a set piece that was 234 rated I think (current command rank is about 151), so I wasn't sure if just popping crates would be a viable way to get gear. I know the odds of me doing an operation is low though, so I will hop on over to the other set of vendors. Much thanks.
  12. The best companion to use is Lieutenant Pierce or the Republic droid companion equivalent, the companion that has their influence increase upon warzone completion. I have a 46 influence with Pierce and the next highest companion is about 16 influence. The greater your influence with that companion the better they will perform in combat.
  13. Gearing is confusing to me. I only PvP with the exception of doing any new expansions that come out for the quasi-storyline additions. There are two sets of gear vendors on fleet. There is only Tier 1 for one of the sets. Both sets of vendors use different currencies and the tier 4 gear would appear to be identical no matter which vendor you buy from. Tiers 2, 3, and 4 require not just these ingame currencies generated by ingame activity, but also unassembled gear items, specific items not components. I've been back in game for a week just PvPing daily but I haven't seen any of these items drop from boxes that I would need to trade-in in order to get the higher tiers of gear. The unassembled components drop from boxes but not the items themselves. I need to read Dulfy or something, probably twice, because this gearing system is needlessly confusing because I haven't a clue how to formulate a plan for max gearing currently.
  14. I think the writing was very good for this expansion. I read multiple comments in general chat along the lines of "I'd pay to see this if these clips were a movie." It held my attention and like you I was pleased that this time I really could make choices that would shape the universe, or at least the number of companions I have that still draw breath.
  15. All classes should be able to solo Heroic SF runs. Use your heroic moments when you need them, like Ephemeris core and the big boss fight at the end. CC the hardest mob in the room and kill the rest before he wakes up. Get your alliance captain's affection up to lvl 20 quickly and use that gun Aygo gives you to use. It's very good damage. Position yourself so you don't get knocked off. There are a couple places you may be knocked off: moving on that semicircular map from one level of the SF to the next, fighting the prototype droid on the droid foundry floor, and fighting the end boss. In all cases position yourself near a wall so you won't get bounced off the map but rather into the wall or just far enough from a ledge that you don't fall. For the end boss that means staying really in the middle of the arena because the boss knockbacks are pretty big. Do dps and set pet to heal, a high affection pet. Your pet will still do fine dps when it's not healing. I'd assume healers with dps pets or tanks with healer pets should do fine too. Do this and you should never die.
