If they really want to fix Ilum, they need to make it work more like Wintergrasp in WoW did. Battles start at set times, it summons each team into the zone and places them on their sides, and then gives each side a set number of respawns so that it can't last forever.
Winners get a large bonus to valor, or maybe champ/bm bags, or something, so there is actually incentive to win. I'm pretty sure wow never had any issues with players standing around kill trading, and that's because they didn't implement PvP in the most absolute horrible way possible (granted wow pvp does have a lot of glaring flaws as well).
In the meantime, I am absolutely going to pile up and aoe down the enemy faction, trading kills instead of waiting on a 30+ minute queue for a game that may last only 5 min and give about 800 valor.
