  1. I think they need a lfg thing but NOT like how it is in "new" wow. I mean how it was back in vanilla/bc. Basically u hit the button to bring it up (whatever it was) you selected the dungeon you wanted to do (or selected the option that selected everyone available) and then clicked the "list" button (or whatever it was) and maybe set a little note that said tank or healer or whatever Your name would then appear in the list. Then if a group was looking for a tank they could open the menu, choose the instance they're doing, and it would list all players looking for a group for that instance. They can read the note, find one that's a tank, whisper him and send the invite. You could also click the "list as group" button with a note (like "looking for tank") and it would list you're group into the thing so if someone looking for group opened it up they could see all the players and groups looking for people and just whisper someone. Sure it's server limited but it wasn't absolutely horrible as it wasn't like the "click button" "get reward" mechanism that killed wow. You still had to work for the players, and work to finish the place. Also since it's server limited players are going to be a lot better and you won't always get a guy that rolls "need" on everything. In "new" wow people aren't afraid to "need" everything because you know you'll never see those players again since they're on a different server. In "old" wow (with the old system) if you rolled need on everything you were kicked from the group, you were called out in the server, and on the forums as a ninja, and if it became well known that you were a ninja, people would avoid inviting you so while you could still ninja gear you could easily get a bad rep as word spreads around.
  2. I was a non-addon using healer in that other game. And honestly I did fine once I got a system down. Of course I was a holy pally when healing was. 1. beacon off tank 2. heal main tank 3. ??????? 4. profit!!!!
  3. Players come before companions. Simple as that. Heck when i ran bt for the very first time some gear dropped that my companion could use. I was going to need but I was unsure and i just decided that it would probably start a commotion and just hit greed. Think of it this way. Generally the rule is mainspec before offspec. So if you're a dps but you also heal (and have a healing set) and you go into the raid to dps, the healers have priority on need rolls over you. If the healers don't need it then go ahead and take it for your offspec I don't mind. But if you take healing gear for you offspec and a healer needs it that's a problem and I'm kicking you out. Same with a companion if no one needs i don't mind you taking it but if a player needs it for themselves they get it first. Expecially because when it comes down to world bosses, endgame, and operations, you won't be able to use your companion because if your group is 4 or higher it's considered too full for a companion. Your companion that's decked out in full t1 is going to do jack **** in that t2 raid because he/she can't come along.
  4. I'm not sure where to post it but since it really relates to operations I figured it should go here. At the moment there is no /roll command (unless it's under something completely obscure). This needs to be added immediately because without it endgame is really limited. The reason i say this is because people are very greedy and if an item drops that they don't need or can't use but they can sell it for a lot they'll roll need on it. Because of this, running operations in it's current state is nearly impossible for pick up groups (pugs). The reason for this is because if you use the need/greed system then you're doing it with people you can't exactly trust and random people will roll need on items they can't use just so they can sell them (expecially if they're bind on equip). Even running operations with a guild using this system is tough if it's a fairly new guild and not everyone trusts each other yet. It's still technically like a pug and gear can get stolen. The next option would be master looter. However, the same situation applies in terms of how does the master looter distribute the loot? There's no system that everyone can physically see. Sure the master looter can literally puts names into a hat and pull them out but he/she would be doing that from home and no one would see it so it could be fixed. Having a /roll command would enable everyone to type /roll and the master looter gives it to the highest number. Also if someone claims they need it and people do /roll for need and the winner can't use it (example: a bounty hunter rolling on a lightsaber) the master looter can give it to the second highest roll instead. Bioware PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE initiate /roll as it is a standard in every mmo-rpg. I love this game even in it's current state but if I can see a lot of people stop playing if there's no /roll command because there's no system to distribute loot among pick up groups that works. And not everyone has time to join a guild and run raids with the guild (since a lot of guilds do a schedule like raid tuesday, wednesday, thursday). A /roll command with master looter is a system that has proven time and time again to work and needs to be added immediately. Besides, all you guys are doing is coding in a random number generator which is some fairly basic code (expecially since the groundwork is already there since it's used to healing/damage/need greed system/social system). It should only take you guys like 30 minutes to an hour to add it as an emote.
