  1. I've been wondering since they gave me a month free whether or not they'd bottle up 1.3 till the day after most people renew their accounts. I'm really glad they gave me a free month (which I barely used because my main server had no one to play with), but I'm also displeased at EA/Bioware's focus on releasing all new content right before or after everyone is resubscribing. I was hoping to play 1.3 for a few days, to tell if I should stay on or not, if people are going to stay on board or if the new content is worth it. If this is a retention scheme, I'm really disappointed by EA's insistence on using trickery to maintain playerbase, instead of keeping up plentiful content all can enjoy (a lot of old MMO'ers don't like making alts, which is the big content draw of this game) and building community (perhaps through events, PvP tournaments?) Really, I think its way too early to tell what this game is going to form into, and some of the problems listed above will probably be fixed in the not-too-distant future. For example, many people disliked Guild Wars until it was about the 3rd month of its release, when PvP was fixed and new group-focused PvE was released. I think I'm going to give SWTOR a few months to cool off, because I'm hoping the recent dev diaries will deliver their promise of awesome content in the future. I almost don't know what to do, because I feel like I'm being drawn into a scheme, but I also what to see the new content. Feels like a low blow. But, then again, I have other games to play.
  2. For some reason they figured people on higher pop servers would want to transfer to a dead server...
  3. Did a Cathar steal yours sweet roll?
  4. Great suggestions. Are you like a risk analysis specialist? o.o IF you just wanted to play with your friends, a low pop server is your personal playground. Like a official private server But I agree, those people who refuse t group or talk really get on my nerves.
  5. I feel like they will do something to disappoint us. Instead of being able to transfer to a high pop server, I imagine they will only let high pop servers downgrade. My server only has 70 people on Rebuplic at all hours. If we all went to a planet, we'd not even split it into a different zone. Here's hoping it will be good.
  6. You don't even really need final tier gear to be competitive. I do think it takes a VERY long time to hit 70, though.
  7. It scales to level. Flame thrower at level 50 does about 700-2.5k damage per hit.
  8. Its not so much 50, as that's not really a problem if you can stand mucking through the 30-50 content; ALONE as you have to on most server. For me, I have 2 50s and a level 21 Legacy. Pretty sick of the game because no one's ever on my server, but then, I don't really want to level a whole new set of characters on a server that might not be the highest pop when 1.3 comes along. pretty dumb of them, considering there are too many servers
  9. I'd like to see some gear made to look like its for lightsiders and darksiders. I think those images you showed are too dark for a Jedi, but I'm not sure. The name 'shadow' shouldn't really influence the design, in my opinion. They're really just KOTOR1-2 Sentinels, while this game's Sentinels are Blade Masters.
  10. Yes, its nice to ACTUALLY get into a PvP match. Its been so long I almost forgot what they were called. 70 some people on Dromund Kaas.. Nice.
  11. I love the game's Rocket Boots skill, but I think it needs some tweaks. First off, you can't mount your bike while using them. You can use them while riding a mount, but not vise verse. It makes it a little inconvenient to use rocket boots effectively sometimes. It dispels your companion, which can be annoying coupled with the glitch which occurs when you have three party members, and your companion will not reappear when you dismount; even if you're far away from other party members. This also makes the rocket boots ineffective when used before starting cut-scenes, because your companion will usually not re-summon in time to participate. It would be better if this skill were just a buff instead of a buff that turns into a vehicle. If you're going to keep it a vehicle, I'd suggest that, instead of ending on combat, the skill is not usable in Warzones and not usable while fighting, If you are hit, you have a chance of being shot down. This will make using the rocket boots when you already have a 90% mount have some point to it. Additionally, I'd like to see legacy unlocks which improve its duration, allow it to be used while in non-Warzone combat, and eventually, allow it to be used as an actual mount (looks used by a Bounty Hunter).
  12. Sandbox might be a fun for a bit, but in the end you wind up walking through a sea of depressing, empty houses. I'd rather have a sandbox exploration planet.
  13. The funny thing is, there are some games that really do this. They set the less skilled members of their player base up to be bullied and harassed, which, uh, is kind of illegal in the United States (at least against a minor).
