  1. Congratulations. You have just found a great player. The sents/marauders are doing their job DPS'ing because that's the only thing they CAN do. Now I don't know about any of you but I sure don't see any sentinel running around bubbling, stand cast-healing, or HoT'ing everybody. It just means they have,....: 1) better gear 2) skilled (gee, takes a little bit of skill to do anything right?) 3) pocket healer (oh snap, bet you didn't see that scoundrel Sawbones healer hiding behind that pillar did you) Face it, I have. (and my main is a sorcerer.) Hybrid classes who can heal and or tank should not be able to out DPS classes who can only DPS. IMO, sents/marauders are the only class the devs got right. They have Defensive CD's that could help them, and burst DPS. Now, I don't know about you, but I'm going to NOT reroll a sent, because even though I HATE that MY sorcerer isn't a glass cannon, I still love my class. And this sentinel nonsense is what I live for, because when I DO beat them, I feel accomplished. Although, I don't know why. I feel like I just beat a 14 year old kid that's just playing an OP class. Oh well.
  2. @Kayriel, So what I'm reading is.... 1) you want a class who already has healing capabilities to have useless self heals, that do not benefit the caster, or the team? (Because face it. We play in a fantasy world where marauders do indeed maraud, Powertechs incinerate us with their flamethrowers.) 2) instant cast on the starting burst, when we already have (assuming that you are talking about lightning, because you reference to TB,) extra 30% lightning strikes, not to mention 3% bonus to all force abilities. @OP Chain lightning was part of the Wrath when the game first came out. Problem is.... When a sorc gets a wrath proc, all he had to do then was... Recklessness>CL>DF. Bam, over 15k+ DPS in a single short rotation (depending if you actually hit more than two targets,) which creates an imbalance in both the PvP AND PvE world. Lots of QQ from the PURE DPS classes, that CANNOT heal. And who are getting out DPS'd by a semi-HYBRID class. So, in conclusion.... Sorcerers are NOT, and should NOT be considered glass cannons. They can heal, therefore their damage, SHOULD be less than a marauder, who, shall I remind you.... Cannot heal himself (Yes, I'm aware of the petty self heals they have, and the other one. But remember, they can't just stand their and cast healing spells till they run out of force. OMG, learn something new everyday.) You MAY be trying to compare them to the Mage class from wow, which may I have to remind you, CANNOT heal themselves. We sorcerers can. So just play the class if you like it, QQ and reroll if you don't. We're a hybrid class. The faster you accept this fact, the faster you will learn to relove the AC you chose from lvl 10.
  3. It's called Tumult. Bad thing about it, you can't use it in pvp....
  4. Alright, I'm sticking with this build. And before I start, I would like to say a few things. The DPS training dummy is not a viable opponent, nor worthy of doing your DPS on. The dummy does not CC, interrupt, move around, or pull you into hazardous areas or push you off/back over cliffs and/or walkways. So if you're going to bash a spec without trying it, then I don't think you're in the right place to give advice. Part of theory crafting or giving advice, is actually TRYING out the spec, see how it works, and THEN with the knowledge you THEN have, will be appreciated. Other than that, happy gaming and good luck. Sorry for the subtle hostility, QQ's about how a class is broken really irks me. So with all that QQ of my own said, here is the spec. http://www.torhead.com/skill-calc#201G0bZbsMMdRbZcMcRs0z.2 Basically, it's a whatever you feel like doing, or whatever the situation calls for spec. FL AFTER you have finished DoT'ing, then filler up with LS whenever Wrath procs, and ONLY if CD is on CD. This is my standard rotation: CD>Affliction>Chain Lightning>FL>Wrath(LS)>Shock. Opt. (whenever CL procs again..) Recklessness >CL>DF I understand you lock players want DoT's, but face it. DoT's are just added DMG, because I can guarantee you, two DoT's aren't going to kill a full WH geared marauder by itself. So, with that in mind, this spec does not revolve around DoT's. Again, DoT's are meant to help with damage, not be the center of it. Besides, most healers would dispel them anyway.
  5. So I am currently running this 15/3/23 spec, http://www.torhead.com/skill-calc#601rI0okMZhZcrcRrMkb.2 Is it viable? Or am I doing it totally wrong? I average around 480k depending on the match, with at least 12 medals, switching between techniques. Any other spec that is favored right now is appreciated. Thanks!
  6. Thanks for all the tips! Another thing, Since my main is a mixed madness/lightning spec but still uses DoT's, I'm assuming the same rule applies to the poisons. Alacrity doesn't affect the speed of the poison ticking, right? Got my sniper to 35 today (: Do you guys still use Kaliyo at this point? The only time I've used a DPS/and or tank companion was with my sorc and I used Ashara since she joined me. Haven't done PvP yet, spent the last 3-4 hours leveling from 1-35. Going to try it now! (:
  7. Hello everyone! I've decided to start rolling a sniper. I was reading some of the posts, and with the help of experience fighting against them, I've decided I wanted to try out the lethality sniper. People have told me the rotation is quite cumbersome, but what the heck, I'll give it a try. Could anybody give me some tips and advice on how to play it from 10-50? I hardly ever change specs, so most likely I'll be lethality all the way. Another thing would be helpful, while I thought: 1) Do lethality snipers stay in cover or do they run around spamming CD, their acid thing, and cull? I could really use help there! (: 2) what should I be looking for in regards to secondary stats? Surge, crit, power? 3) How should I begin fights, and what do you do when you're in a FP with CC's? Do you just use your CD? Thanks!
  8. Another thing, Electric Induction is not needed. Reducing a spell's force cost by 3-4 force isn't that great, so I would go for Reserves.
  9. You want to avoiid it for PvE be use you lose most of your burst from a pure lightning/madness spec. I have been using this ever since I saw Dimach (sage)causing it since beta, and I have found it to be very trying for operations and HM's. Yes, you have mobility and a little more survivability...which is great for PvP, but it really hurts you in the operations where your DPS won't be AS great or high if you were to go full madness or lightning.
  10. So I was doing 1-49 PvP today, and I'm level 42. I have an Op at 50 full WH that I've been playing ever since this game first came out so I think I know the class pretty well. IMO. Well today in huttball, this 48 marauder decides to target me of all people, and knowing the tricks and trades of the class + the no charge to cover tactics, I beat this marauder. I then proceeded to find him and kill him everytime he came out of the Rez zone, (I'm stealthed at there side to receive passes from their pit,) and shoot first and burst the crap out of him with lucky crits. And the crits aren't even as high as my gunslingers at lvl 27. When the game ended and I continued on my questing, he logs on a Pub character and continually spams my messages saying we're too OP and we need another NERF. My response was... LOL. Scoundrel/OP = No gap closer, not as many nor as near effective Defensive CD's as the marauder, not enough sustainable damage, (let's face it, I was playing scrapper and was lucky to have crit the whole rotation, and we know scrapper is only for burst and sucks hard at long fights,) and that after the NERF we're already hitting 40% if not more less than we used to. All he had to say was, You're still OP, and ignored me. And that's my QQ story of the day. Bye. (:
  11. I had this build all the way before I hit 50. It is amazing for solo play. I was able to solo Heroic quests, albeit, it took a little bit longer, but it was great either way. It's a different story for PvP however. It's easy for me, wracking up 300k+ either on healing or damage depending on how good of a group I am in, but it's still hard work. You just need to know when to focus healing and when to focus DPS'ing. Other than that, use it! It's great for sioli play, and makes going through FP's a breeze!
  12. So what you're saying is Ashara is a sadistic light-side Jedi who likes seeing people getting killed/shocked? Nice.
  13. I was reading a post earlier today about Ashara not being dark. I'm confused because as a Dark IV, shouldn't my convos be gaining less affection with her? Is it a bug I should be glad about? Because I've shocked and killed many people and that only gains her affection.

    Legacy

After you get legacy, all characters receive the legacy. If you're talking about certain aspects to it like + experience for WZ's etc, some of them only apply to the character you bought it on. Therefore, you have to buy it again with another character.
