Whoa, back up. You're telling me you got to level 47 and didn't see that coming? Really? And seriously don't use the spoiler tag for spoilers, that's just silly.

I just straight up don't like it, if you face one it is literally impossible to fight with randoms, and if you get stuck with one you are cut out of the loop and they refuse to take instructions. It's a no win.

They need to replace Stock Strike with Full Auto for Assualt
DJ_Viron replied to Galbatorrix's topic in Vanguard / Powertech
After hearing from a few people on here I just came to the conclusion that the Vangaurd is just intended to be a gloried non-force using melee specialist. Which is too bad, I wanted to use a blaster rifle to shoot people not slap them, guess I'll have to play imp Agent. Oh wait their ranged uses snipers. Well, nuts. -
Fun for DPS only, anything else would get murdered. Wait, what am I saying?

All of them.

True but they have stealth. The problem I have with it is while it is meant to be a CQC range class you only have 1 option to close the gap, unless you spec into tanking. That option also has a 45 second cooldown, compared to the only three CQC DPS which have a 15 second one or stealth. This is why they should have made Storm a trooper ability instead of a late tank tree ability. In PvP like Huttball where most of the arena is segregated by elevation this pretty much ruins Vanguards. You tank or you use grapple every 45 seconds. Why couldn't they just switch those two? Have storm replace grapple and give grapple a damage or a taunt or something. I still however stand by the old Assault Specialist, it was only two abilities you could use at range and one ate up ammo and the other had a 15 second cooldown. I've seen more broken levels of DPS at range.

Why exactly did this have to happen? Because it really feels like they may as well just give me a sword now with the god awful range of the vanguard. Seriously what was the logic behind this? It's not like they nerfed it for the comm either, just for Vanguards and powertechs. If you think I'm joking let me be clear: I'm not joking about this, 100% serious stuff here. Someone explain, what the [expletive] happened?

You're right a 4k health difference alone isn't a huge imbalance. I would probably agree with had I not just got another 50 and after playing one game with it I can say this: anyone with more than 4 piece of BM and/or WH should be forced into another queue. The stat difference is too much even for Recruit, play style is irrelevant you just have to be half good and have better numbers and then it will be almost impossible to lose one on one. And seeing as getting your *** kicked tends to deter wins and comms it takes longer to get full BM thus prolonging the damn process of losing. But they'll never do it, because then the WH's and BM's would cry about how WZs are no longer easy to steam roll. So instead they'll probably end up just copping out and making all the PvP armors more accessible. Then all the people who "worked" (I use that term as loosely as possible) will ***** about how it's no longer fun and how now that the playing field is even that it loses all skill (which is ********). And then BW will add in new PvP armor that requires you to play Double Ranked Warzones to get. Wash, rinse, repeat ad Forever.

What really gets me is that my BM armor is actually on par with Rakata and I still get treated like dirt. I'll never get to play any of the new OPs.

The guy who made the movies and now sits with a stamp and approves what is canon and what is slightly less canon. He is also known as a terrible writer and director.

Because in almost every poll they were in the top 3, and they are plentiful in the game, so yeah. Majority says Cathar go in, so they go in. Deal with it?

The game is not even a year old and people already want ****loads more. People talk as if WoW started as big as it is now. It wasn't, the first expansion came 3 years later. We are getting a new race and a new planet within the first year. Are language and height a problem? Yes, they can be circumvented even without Translation droids or subs but it will take time. They will essentially have to remake the game from start to finish to accommodate the new species, then bug test it, then release it. They have to go through every mission for every class on every planet and every piece of dialogue, including adding some new flavor text. If you think that can be done rather easily with the (supposed) staff reductions you are *********** crazy. Cathar are plentiful, Cathar are deeply set into TOR lore, they are anthropomorphic cats, their appeal is much more vast and easier to accommodate than the odd ball species. And they can share the same 8 different model sizes. Maybe down the road into the future you can have a wookie or jawa or craw-fish or a bucket with a sponge in it, but you have to deal with the fact that (to beat a dead horse) You will have to wait. And Op you talk like you aren't being antagonistic to the Cathar supporters but some of your posts are dismissive of points that have equal validity to your own. I want Kel Dor more than I want anything else, hell I'd kill someone if I thought I it would let me play as a Kel Dor and I thought I could get away with it or play TOR in jail. But I'm not gonna tell people to explain why they think a race of naked, hairy savages like the wookies deserve to be in the game.

The Jedi and Republic are as equally zealous about the destruction of the Empire and lets not forget that the republic tried to ethnically cleanse the sith Purebloods before the Emperor was born. But really there are no good or bad guys as good and evil are formed from a flawed perspective. This is especially relevant in this game unlike the movies where there is only one perspective and it is easy to call that perspective evil (I'm sure all those technicians and soldiers on the Death Star were all kitten stranglers and orphan rapists). People who argue for a clear definition of good and evil just like lazy story telling where they don't want to relate to the people the protagonists are fighting against. You don't feel bad in Lord of the Rings when **** loads of orcs are killed because they are portrayed as evil in every appearance. Same in the movies with the storm troopers, they only appear to shoot at (and miss) the heroes. The one time they are portrayed differently is in New Hope when they are just standing around looking for droids in the heat. tl;dr moral ambiguity exists everywhere beyond the two-dimensional.
