  1. Looking for Guilds Interested in World PvP Good Evening, We all know there is not much of an incentive to do world PvP but it would be fun to get a few guilds together and battle it out in the Outlaws Den or Iokath once a month or even weekly for an hour or so. I am not looking for huge guilds but small guilds on both republic and imp side. Even if you can only send a few troops, maybe we could get a consistent night to do battles Pubs vs Imps and it could turn into a regular event. If we get enough interest we will talk dates. Some Ground Rules would have to be implemented like no spawn camping nor outnumbering to drastic amounts and these could be discussed by guild leaders. We know what we are looking for is not easy but if interested talk to me in discord. Maybe something like this exists? If not we can make it happen. We can create a channel in game or discord to coordinate it as well. Nex-ran Way of the Ancients (Republic) Ridiric#5357
  2. Currently recruiting for our Operations Team. In March we will be moving through VM Operations into HM. If interested please reach out to Ridiric#5357 on discord. We are a relaxed group of people looking for old school gamers that just enjoy completing things together. Currently we are still working on the guildship upgrades and running through all Ops in SM. We have group events Tues/Sun Nights 8PM EST.
  3. Simple answer is to make conquests more PvE related and STOP giving points for everything someone does. It is a useless way to judge anything. They should make it more specific to each yield. Being in a guild is about completing missions together and grouping with friends. The yields should be goal oriented and sized appropriately. Also we should have better rewards. This game is simply not very rewarding and everyone knows it. Example Small Yield- Goal- Complete VM Flashpoints (5), (50) Solo Missions from crafting, heroics, ect (Overall BS) Medium Yield-Goal-Complete VM Flashpoints (20), (2) SM Operations, (100) Solo mission types crafting, heroics, (overall BS) Medium Yield 2-Goal-Complete VM Flashpoints (20), HM Flashpoints (5) (10) Won Ranked PvP, (100) Solo Mission types.... Large Yield-Goal-Complete VM Flashpoints (50), HM Flashpoints (20), (5) VM Ops, (1) HM Ops, (200) Solo Mission types.... These are examples but instead of getting all your points instantly from everyone logging in and completing a crafting harvest lets make this system functional and worth having. Also these goals mentioned above should have to be launched from like a guild queue in the guild tab. So the system can make sure it was 100% guild completed. For those thinking right now my guild could never do this, yes you are correct. Small guilds should only be able to do small yields and work up too large. That is why there are so many guilds with so many bad ones. We currently are doing a progression team and while we are a smaller guild its dumb how many points someone can get solo playing vs a 8 or 16 M operation. Having guild/community play will keep your game together like glue. If we run out of stuff to do then why would you expect people to stay. Con quests is a great idea but honestly very poorly thought out. I don't want to hurt peoples feelings but it needs an overhaul just like the end game loot system.
  4. Hey there. We started a guild in November moving through OPs progression every Sunday 8PM EST and HMFP Tues 8PM EST. Goal is to go through all OP SM then VM then HM. https://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=986471 The post is kind of old so we have moved out of our casual leveling phase and pushed to SM OPS for 306 grind. If interested you can join the server on discord or speak to me Ridiric#5357 We know how hard it is to find people to mesh with. Most of the raiders have been with us since the start. We could probably use another Tank as well. We are very well rounded right now but at that strange stage where we can do 8M but need a few more for 16M. We keep it small too around 100 members or less counting alts.
  5. Do you get Valor from world PvP kills? I never see anyone to take out so I honestly don't know.
  6. I posted a while back about making PvP World Instances like the Outlaw Den functional again. I think many players are interested and it would help keep subscribers no doubt. A simple way to fix this area like you mentioned would be missions or motivation to participate in world PvP. I suggested making instances like these on several planets maybe even three instances or so on a plant with a capture the flag style game inside them. Each instance would have three flags to hold. Instead of empty flags with nothing there make it small fortresses with NPCs that have to be fought through and a final Boss NPC taken down to flip each flag. Nothing crazy just something that can't be soloed it would take 4-8 players to overthrow. This would allow smaller groups to sustain somewhat defenses if they control a base. This worked in an old MMO I use to play very well. Its not complex but the players make it strategic in the way you can go about defending and taking over bases. The Den would be perfect to implement at least a test run. All the functions I mentioned are already in the game. It would not be anything groundbreaking other than changing a few buildings, adding some NPCs and quests. I just drove through there myself and it is dead. Looking at the cool fortress in the side of the mountain, the pit area and GTN would be perfect places for these bases. Hope the Devs wake up and see it would be worth it. Valor added this way should also be more. Just to motivate PvP play. Also worldwide alerts on base flips would be awesome. I know the engine is a problem but if you make instances and managed the numbers it could be done. Queues... But then we are waiting on them to enter. At the state the PvP is right now they need to make a turn. As a guild we are also looking at possibly aligning with some other guilds to do Fight Nights. If interested I am on Star Forge Nex-ran, or Ridirc Republic side.
  7. Content was not in question the loot and rewards are. PvP has gone down hill since they went away from PvP specific gear. I’m not even talking about that. PvP is already way unbalanced with an edge to dps and a bad ranking system of 4v4. Regardless the point is not how much content but why no one does it. Why does everyone run Hammer Station or TC all the time. Because the same stuff drops no matter what you do. Content is skipped and the players who rush to 306 get there and leave soon realizing there is nothing to achieve. To say this would unbalance the game is on the developers. Every MMO does this to make the game enjoyable. If your a solo player on an MMO I have some advice. Don’t play a Massive MULTIPLAYER online game.
  8. In a way yes. Haha and I think your being sarcastic? Do I feel the force (Reaches out with baby yoda hand)... This whole belief MMOs are dying isn't really the case when its MMO are changing pushing players away. Also in todays market how many are there now compared to 2006 when the real first MMO came out. Many MMO veterans are achievement hunters. We all hate vicious grinds but need some sense of accomplishment I believe. Im not saying take the easy leveling out or the quests for solo. If you want to enjoy solo there should be a way. But the end game in SWTOR has never been great. There is little or nothing to work for once you get 306. Then its get some expensive augments from crafting/GTN in this bizarre crafting system. Sure for founders or people who have played since launch this is easy enough but imagine coming into the game trying to figure this out. I would be confused and I have ran into many who are confused. The proposed change really is simple and would take little to adjust in game. I would also love to see stats get away from the 1000s. So my Mastery is at 12,000 and endurance 15,000 my health is.... geez that alot of zeros.... Its simple math so just adjust everything downward. 100/200/500 cap on stats would be fantastic!!! What a stim would only give +2 Mastery? Yeah if that +2 is the same as 240... Sorry went on a rant of simplicity. Noice rewards to make the game rewarding is all I'm asking. MMO gods please hear me. I know thy sit on cushion seat in said office space. Please adjust programming in accord with thy will so people can play much longer with much more to accomplish.
  9. The gearing system has changed many times over the years in SWTOR. The way it is now confuses so many new players its a deterrent that causes some to leave before they even start. Item rating is dull and unappealing to most players. Its a system of numbers that general ends up getting tiring seeing gear jump 1 level. The way it is now really does not encourage group content or guilds unfortunately. Some will say "Well its nice to be able to get gear without group content." If this is your view MMOs are not your kind of game. They should be designed around community and achievements through grouping which in turn encourages players to find guilds and communities creating the atmosphere many MMOs have. One thing all great MMOs tend to do is evolve their end-game so there is something to achieve for the players. Doing harder content or group content should provide greater benefits. Single one time drops of rare or epic proportion. Yes every game does this and it works because its a great way to do things. I know that rare mounts and more 306 gear drops from HM OPs but this is talking about actual armor drops or epic/legendary armorings, enhancements, mods or more that should only be achieved in VM or HM Operations/Flashpoints. Also real PvP gear would be great... For those who say that this would be a big advantage, yes of course it would be and hence why to work towards it. Ideas for End Game Loot +VM 308 Items HM 312 Items Legendary Enhancments/Armoring/Mods1 per boss VM 2 per Boss HM Rolls +Useful Tactical Drops +Legendary Augments +Iokath Recombinators! +Legendary Weapons (Blasters, Cannons, Lightsabers, ECT) So much to be desired here. +More Rare/Epic Crafting Materials +Legendary Armor Sets with very good abilities These are just a few ideas. With the influx of players I would love to keep more involved by working towards something together. Completing OPs/FP are fun but they should also be rewarding. Not everything in todays gaming market has to be handed to a player so easily. Sometimes we like to work for it
  10. Yes you can. I have a few characters though Nex-ran-Sage Heals Ridiric-DPS Commando Rahzer-Knight Tank the best way to get in touch with me is to join our discord channel. We use this mostly. We are not in game all hours of the day so it can be challenging to catch me. My discord Handle is Ridiric#5357 We have talked about starting to work on some PvP so that might be a great help but would like to talk to you first before we dive into the PvP. I have been on and off PvP but never tried ranked due to premades all the time. Many in the guild are interested but would need some guidance. Really we want to form some alliances and do some small size world PvP or Warzones. Sounds like you might be the right player for this. We are not a hardcore guild with raid requirements. We just enjoy the game and like you have played on and off for years. Currently we do 8-Man OPs but wouldn't mind grabbing a few more for some 16 mans and rotations when some miss. We sit at 70-80 members with no plans to get over 100. We are always up for a challenge so we continue to push ourselves with Hard mode content and gearing for fun. We also enjoy teaching new ones mechanics. As far as needs most of us have many alts so rotations are easy. DPS probably is biggest need then healers but we would take good people . The guild has taken it slow and steady since November. We are working on unlocking the command deck and checking out the new guild leveling system. I think anyone that understands we play Tues/Sun nights and can get on during those times will enjoy the guild. So people who tend to play alot during the day or just alot in general might not like this set up. Most of us are busy working during the week but look forward to our event times. Like I said we are not on all the time but focus on conquests goals Tuesday/FP and Sunday/OPS. This week is VM EV next week we hope to move to Karagga's Palace.
  11. Currently we are working on progression through SM OPs level 75 then proceeding to VM. We have not yet done any PvP events. Tuesday’s Hard Mode Flashpoints Sunday Operations
  12. Yeah after research and playing the game a bit more recently I have found that World PvP is not a viable option. The number of instances we need in the world already is ridiculous. Unfortunately this influx of people we have seen since the steam launch will continue to regress. They still have yet to fix major UI issues that honestly is probably the cause of much of the "Engine Issues". Another Point Getting 306 gear is fairly easy and requires little to no group activities. This leaves a ton of small guilds out there because everyone wants a guild and honestly you don't need people to play this MMO which is odd, because I thought that was what MMOs where built around. Ideas of community and group content. So instead keep restricting it to small groups of 4v4 or 8v8 whatever. This idea is a way to incorporate world PvP into the game trying to incentivize it. Hire new coders who can figure out the lag issues and smooth the game out for you. If not hit delete and start on SW The New Republic 2022!
  13. Thank you! If you read the thread I clearly stat these are areas already NOT in use. Also this would be an addition not taking away from PvE. I enjoy OPs but the game is set in a error of war. Taking sides for either or. If you don't want to participate then don't. I also think if you feel conquests are ok as they are your one of those large guilds that spam for any and all players everyday. Meeting the large yield is easy with 10-15 players. I did not say take renown crates away. I just want some PvP incentive. Give me a reason to PvP. Ranked is garbage and 4v4 is useless. People will play other games before playing an MMO for 4v4 in an area all the time. Yeah it would to an extent change some aspects. If your scared of PvP crossing into your safe PvE realm then keep the conquest the way it is but give PvP some planets to fight over in these zones. For PvP players though it would actually make it a viable option now. PvP ranked is already a small group of players who have to message out of game to get reasonable matches. I also clearly said why would anyone be in a PvP instance without renown or a reason to be there? I guess I could go there to die and walk back to where I was in hopes someone is still there to fight? Even though this is an open world PvP concept it does not mean the whole planet is a PvP zone unless you engage in one of the zone areas. I didn't even ask for alot of real estate. Also adding PvE bosses would incentive other players to step into the realm and have some fun. If you don't want to do these mini bosses (much like WB) then simply don't. The NPCs are needed though to hold players there. Even PvP players because this keeps the bases stable enough and would draw more people into the area. Fighting alone in a single base with no safe haven is not great fun.
  14. Did you read the thread?
  15. Open World PvP Now/ Real Conquests I have played since Beta and mostly played on the PvE side of things. Not because I love PvE but because it's the better side of SWTOR. For a while PvP was very interesting but not something to strive after for any player. Rewards are poor, repetitive and just not what most games are. In other games I love PvP. I love Star wars so why not SWTOR PvP? This game has something not many other games have. Huge wide open worlds full of…. Nothing! The class stories are great and travelling the galaxy is fantastic but you seriously have a great platform with no use. Empty planets with 10-20 people sometimes on them running solo quests. People may say well nobody's ever in a PvP instance so why put the time into it. Why would I be? Right now there is no reason. I believe there are three easy ways to generate a realistic PvP interest with minimum work. First use conquest for actual PvP conquers. It sure seems to be the original intent but someone in development must have chopped that head off. You can move your flagship, spawn from it and even offer buffs on conquered worlds! You have a system in place now that could easily be used to bring guilds together to fight in worlds for either the Empire or Republic. Give up this guild conquering planets idea. Its either Empire or Republic! No one wants to see Guild Fluffy Tuff Controls this Planet.... Second We know each planet and each zone cannot be a PvP zone but what about making rather large areas like the (Outlaws Den Tatooine Already here) PvP areas with actual bases that can be flipped. Placing NPCs inside these bases with some infrastructure you must fight through to get to an OP appropriate boss you must take over to flip the flags once taken so its not a constant flip flop. PvE boss in a PvP zone holding the flag. A few games have done this logic and its been fantastic to play in. You could have three of these zones spread out around a single planet like Tatooine, Hoth, Ilum, ect and the side that holds all three gets the label this planet controlled by (Republic/Empire) Not Guild Golfball Silly Bean! Having three or more PvP planets with 3 zones. This would keep guilds travelling as a group or PvP chat channels pounding. I am a programmer. To say this would be alot of work is not true. In fact I believe everything I just said is already in the game as a base. Change some models, a few areas and boom you have action on planets that are dead. Hoth even already has underground bunkers perfect for these areas. Imagine watching a group of twenty players running from Outlaws Den to the next PvP instance in the Dune Sea or wherever you put it. General chat would explode with SoS to help such and such. Flagships fly in chaos ensues and you have fun for hours. Obviously you need flags for PvP and timers for the flagging but that is just simple. The way I explained PvP means you technically don’t even have to go into a zone or be flagged for it. Once PvP players cross the line like Outlaws Den your in a PvE zone Flagged. You go out 5 Min CD or upon death. The PvP zones would be far enough apart it would take quick travels or running to get there. Spreading it out is the best thing and would make the world live like it never has with players trying to lend support. This would also create actual guild alliances and other unique aspects no one would even have to think about. It would just be natural. Third we need renown. Its that easy. PvP players need a legitimate ranking system to One:Show Off and Two:Achieve. With renown you could unlock PvP gear, and all the normal things like titles, buffs whatever. Some people are afraid of change. Some will say the game has worked this way for so long why even take time to manage PvP. If you want to make money you have to evolve. First person shooters and competition games are in. Plus Jedi vs Sith come on... Commandos vs Bounty Hunters... This is just an idea and I know Ilum was kind of this way ok ok ok. But it wasn't this way with the game the way it is now. I hope a developer sees this and actually thinks about how easy this would be for an expansion. Introduce Mandolirians! I just sold a million copies for you. On a serious note though we need PvP…. Real PvP…. World PVP!!!
