  1. @exmode http://www.swtor.com/fr/community/showthread.php?t=103780 That is the thread that contains the build I referenced. It is not a hybrid, it is a focus build that ignores all shi-cho talents. This is how I know you didn't read it. You essentially setup a strawman and just started raging at it. Which is fine, there's no reason to continue this discussion anyway. That build was trying to balance defense with offense but shield generators appearently are of limited use in pvp so 100% offense is the way to go. A day late and a dollar short of relevancy, my apologies. Enjoy.
  2. Ah, hypotheticals. Lovely things. Shall I create a dozen of my own? Then we can go back and forth all day. It will be enlightening. Or we can just admit that your scenario is very situational and that doing more damage or preventing more damage through interrupts is better in more situations?
  3. A lot of bad in this thread. Skipping watchguard for some superfluous bs like focused pursuit? Bad. Skipping insight? Bad. Force shroud just isn't worth the points. Need invulnerability during force camo? Use guarded by the force. In conjunction with it. Talent points are precious things. They need to be used to overcome weaknesses in the best way possible. For now I believe 31/7/3 is the best. Taking the extra focus on leap talent. It hurts me to take that talent as it is literrally five focus every minute which kinda gives you the enrage ability of guardians except one less focus and you have to keep your gap closer on cd for it. That hurts but it's better than striking. Everytime I have to spam strike I die inside and you're going to hit it 2-3 times per zstrike in some(read: most) occasions. Five focus reduces that by 2-3 perhaps more over the course of a minute. In watchman you take watchguard, everything else is pretty obvious. In combat you take crusader and 1 in dual wield if you pvp at all or max dual wield and skip crusader if you pve exclusively. None of this is for certain but this is a reasonable guess at max pvp/pve dps. Steadfast may have a place but it's less noticeable and without a combat log I'm goin to say a more smooth rotation > accuracy.
  4. I really go back and forth between watchman and focus. I like both builds but focus allows me to do rotations without strike. That doesn't happen with watchman. Merc slash is too costly and you are going to be striking, guaranteed. Now strike does some decent damage but it isn't anywhere near any of your focus abilities and as I'm striking i just feel like I'm not doing anything meaningful. Granted I still have dots ticking and abilities cooling down, it just doesn't feel as active as focus. With focus I'm always hitting a good ability, I don't have to spend several gcds striking. This is even more pronounced on guardian. If a focus guardian is striking something has gone horribly wrong.
  5. I beat him as a sentinel with 12.4k hp. It wasn't easy but it can be done. My t7 had 8k hp. He was in all starting gear except for the 77k droid part on coreila. It isn't easy, anyone who says that is a liar. However it can be done with your 20min cd, a medpack and a level 36 strength stim. I must've missed the chest though. I didn't see it but I didn't clear everything. I burned a path from the ship to the emp, rescued Kira and called it a day. Is there something good in the chest? Most of the time they just contain greens.
  6. Can't deny people their Kira, eh? You guys are some dedicated individuals.
  7. I've only been focus and watchman so far but something tells me I should try combat because the only people trying combat have no clue what they are doing. Certainly not when it comes to math, talent choices, and builds that aren't all over the place. A perfect example, who takes the talent that gives four focus every minute over a snare break in a mobility and control build? Speaking of control you take the talent that makes ms root but then don't lower its duration. A word of advice when the guy is rooted he isn't just rooted for you but for your entire team making him a prime target for a stomping. The only way to pvp in this game for rewards is group based. Learn to be part of the team and not just an individual. Isn't ataru an offhand proc? If it is, you can't give up dual saber mastery. If it isn't then two of those points are better spent elsewhere. Anyone who does not take crusader is doing it wrong and all of their opinions on what is "good or bad" in pvp can be summarily discarded. I know it's too early for cookie cutter builds bit when you make a build decide what you want it's focus to be and then build around that.
  8. One thing in response to all this: Get to fifty. That's pretty much it. I have a fifty sent and jugg there's very little reason to be a focus sent when guardian is just better. Sent pvp is all about merging healers and sages/sorcs. Can't do that when you aren't self sufficient in the slightest so you die without heals. That's the Crux of the argument here. Look if you have a dedicated premade group to pvp with like the op then you should say that. Focus is likely the better group tree. A large majority of is are q'ing alone though and for that anything other than watchman is almost absurd.
  9. I was tempted to not even dignify your original ad hominem filled ignorant rage post with a response. Now that it's been cleaned up I'll be terse and just say you are talking about a completely different build than the one I referenced. A shi cho build is fine, you are more prone to getting squished. But if you have a healer or something keeping you alive then go hog wild. The build I refrenced is a hard hitting tank. That's the difference. It is more self sufficient. You don't need a healer you can go find one, but anyone will do. You have the power to protect them and dispatch your foes. You are also harder to kill since you stay in soresu. Cyclone slash in pvp? Amusing. The goal of the build is to get everyone panicking and then dispatch someone. Not sweep and then turn your next ten gcds into cyclone spam. Get real. I mentioned enrage because you said it was six focus I corrected you and said in a focus build it would be eight. Far enough about saber throw though. I neglected that. Try to contain the rage though. It doesn't help your side of the conversation. It just makes you look foolish when all the facts hit the table.
  10. I got ranna she was easy just be a hero and you can't miss it. The ones I missed were graftan for sw, even though I was full on darkside. The other was Tala-reh which is the one that annoys me. I was very understanding of the vision thing. I have fraps of every possible conversation option with her(and the entire jk story) and yet when I offered myself up for the vision she just says she serves the mystics and walks away as my character looks visibly distraught. Mad now, I knew there was a way to sleep with her from Kira's voice files(she gets mad but doesn't break up with you). Now it's gone and I'm already fifty, just disappointed. Oh well maybe I'll make a guardian one day and a sent for my imp and do things differently.
  11. I have a 50 of both of these classes and didn't get either of them. Can someone explain how to get them? I must've missed something as I just ended the voss questline like 6 hours ago(I hit 50 on Voss) and I didn't even see a flirt option with Tala-Reh and she told me about her husband and everything. As for Lady Granthan, I have 50 SW and I don't have a clue who that is? I certainly didn't get it though. Any explanation of either of these would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
  12. Ok, I'm not going to argue one way or another but let's dispense with the anecdotes and work with the facts. I have a 50 sith warrior he has two romancable companions and throughout the entire story he slept with two (non-companion) women. One of which was in a companion quest. The other was lachris which everyone gets to sleep with. So that's four total. All the way to fifty. I have played assassin all the way to 42 and he got to sleep with three woman and one of those women he did twice. I have a 50 jk sentinel and he has also done four women total. One was the nar shadaa bonus series which every male gets. All the way to fifty. So four is the max, counting companions from what I have seen. Now I don't know this for certain but I believe female Jedi consular is one of the few to get two romance options from your companions. Note that you are far better off than your male counterpart here who won't even get his romance companion till Belsavis. He will have slept with one person by this time. The nar shadaa bonus series lady. Simply put? It depends on class, but you aren't missing much. If you are looking to sow seeds throughout the galaxy you might have the wrong game. Unless smuggler/ia and troop/bh just have a ton of options. You aren't a victim here, there is no crime. Simply perceived injustice. There is no injustice here though your knowledge was just woefully incomplete.
  13. Incorrect. Almost all of it. Look at the "guardian hits for 6k aoe with one ability" thread. A focus spec guardian in shi cho is doing it wrong, pve'ing or already max valor. You have to be and stay in soresu for all your guards/taunts to work. So they skip all the shi-cho talents. All of them. We will hit harder on every ability except sweep. They will probably double our medals but there's nothing we can do about that. You could be a shi-cho guardian but why? 12 medals easily vs 8 at max. Big numbers are sweet but I'd rather have my max valor sooner. No one stance dances, it isn't worth your time. You choose your spec and then sit in the stance it's built around. We will do more damage vs a single target they have greater aoe. That's pretty much what it boils down to. Also enrage(forgot what it's called for guardian) is a minute cd and they spec for 8 focus instead of 6. That's sweet but z strike gives me 40 focus a minute. The gcd is not a big deal. We aren't gcd locked unless you want to hit strike on your free gcds. I already covered the armor debuff. Takes twenty seconds to build it to twenty percent. The fight will be decided by then.
  14. So I've done some thinking and I retract my previous statement about guardian being the better focus spec. 1) Guardians sweep will only hit 22% harder. They are in soresu. We are in shi cho. Even though we are in shi-cho I believe us to be the more survivable spec. I need to get off work and test transcendence. But if you can reasonably keep that or rebuke up at all times you are hard man to kill. 2) As an ancillary point to the above we hit harder on literally every other move than a focus guardian does. All of them. Particularly since we have +20 armor mitigation passively. Takes them twenty seconds to get that much armor pen. We also are not dependant on getting hit for focus generation. Our sweep is one focus, our focus generator is six focus all at once, there's is two focus every 4 seconds. Same effect, different delivery. 3) While they will do more aoe damage the ole sweep + storm combo should come out relatively in our favor and we delivered it much cheaper. 4) They have a free aoe snare. It's just emphatically better in everyway. No debate there. 5) Here goes the deal a valor initiated, inspiration, leap, exhaust, cauterize, sweep, then storm combo should really lay down the law. You can fit another sweep in at the end as well. That should be a guaranteed kill on nearly anyone. Yes it's on a five min cd, and it's not operative lethality, but it's still strong particularly early in the match where caps and nodes matter. If you can not only get your party to mid sooner but also murder the initial rush you've done a lot more than just put your name on the top of the scoreboard. I'm at work and on an iPhone so I'll add more later but if you look at it objectively we are at least equals to focus guardian. One more thing let's drop the anecdotes. I somehow doubt any of you have gotten a 6k sweep. It's hard for a focus guardian to hit that hard. No need to exaggerate. Let's try and deal in as many facts as possible.
  15. Would two points give you 10 per party member? If so that's ridiculous and is worth exploiting till it gets fixed as that is 100% uptime on trans. As for focus, ignoring the trans thing if you want to play focus, guardian is better. You can go defensive and sit in soresu and watch as the medals flow in or go offensive and see huge numbers. Sent focus won't see those numbers.
