  1. That pretty much sums it up. As a 35 marauder I get in hope to get a kill, get my dots off, start getting blasted from a tier above me by a merc/sorc/commando and blow my 4 second vanish licking my wounds and hoping I noticed all the damage I was taking before it was too late. Rinse...repeat I like the marauder a lot, but man 2-3 ranged play hell on all melee simply because tab targeting is the only viable targeting in the game right now.
  2. I swear the devs never even looked at DAOC when they designed the game. Give us Realm Abilities like Determination to lower stun times, give us a lower cooldown on purge...ffs DAOC is 11 years old and has better pvp
  3. Stop complaining, this is the best PvP design team in the world, just ask them...I mean look at Warhammer!
  4. Your sig of games almost matches mine and yes DAOC was the king of real pvp.
  5. Can I be honest in saying the thought of yet more gear coming out to grind makes me want to vomit? Seriously...you just made me ill
  6. PvE players make me want to vomit. Aren't there enough PvE games out there that you have to ruin the one with light-sabers too? Seriously how many heroic modes and flash point games do you need? How many boss fights where you see mechanics that mirror other games until you've had your fill? I played KOTOR 1 and I enjoy a good story just like the next guy, but to whine about how it affects PvE is ludicrous.
  7. How do you know it was 'ganking'? I killed a guy in Hoth where I let him finish his mobs and heal up. I think bowed and attacked..and OP yes there is absolutely nothing for killing people in the world.
  8. This. Nothing more needs to be said. Stealthers at bridges, docks, archers more range at height, shields actually *********** work against archers if you hit block... zergs, small groups 8v8 ....DAOC had it all from single player stealthers ganking people to full on zergs without the lag
  9. Exactly this. I want to know what liars in what polls keep telling devs the money and long-term subscribers are the PVE players? Give us REAL OPEN WORLD CONTENT with a damn point and we'll be here for a long long time.
  10. I got to Ilum last night. Me 13 days to go...
  11. I just cancelled as well. Thirteen days left to log in. Yeah keep trolling because I'm taking my small guild with me. Sure it's just 8 of us, but hey every dollar counts.
  12. Bioware made this awesome decision to make all the guys with glowbats be under-powered compared to their blaster/sniper rifle wielding counterparts...you know just like Star Wars was...oh wait...
  13. So we actually went through the storyline from beginning to end on our characters and took our time. We did enough warzones to get one bag and 1000/1000 badges and gladiator titles in the hopes that when we got to Ilum it would be this awesome non-instanced area where skirmishes occurred and zergs occurred and there was a true point to the pvp for all members of the faction. See we are a generation of gamers from Dark Age of Camelot and no game has lived up to its RvR/PvP since. Not WoW, not Age of Conan, not Warhammer, not EQ2, not LOTRO, none of them. When we buy a new game out in 2012 (late 2011) we expect it to at least be as fun as a leveling battleground like Leirvik in a game that was released in 2001 (DAOC). Instead we get there and Ilum is shaped somewhat like a football field with thirty or so Imperials camped outside the Republic's base like wolves just to complete their 'dailies'. This isn't pvp with a point, this is a camp fest. When a fight finally does break out I'm sitting at around 8 FPS (and yes I've downloaded the DX9C fix and the game performance programs and tweaked the **** out of my settings). So when your subscription base starts to dwindle because the game is behind not just WoW in PvE but Dark Age of Camelot in PVP you will know. So Developers, go log into Dark Age of Camelot, go into their opening non-timed battlegrounds and look at the layout, wander around in Darkness Falls and when the drums beat and you're down there fighting when another faction is coming in and you're left with a choice to flee or make a stand in the halls, ask yourself. "Was it WoW we really wanted to clone for the fifth attempt?" Put the Ilum crystals underground with a central holding point to fight over, take a hard look at DAOC's game maps and pvp design and realize that 1> force punting people wasn't fun in Warhammer and it's not fun in SWTOR 2> ranged needs serious counters, you can't design a game around bases and then make there be no way for stealthers to climb walls or melee classes to force leap certain points on walls or we're left watching the action and 3> Your game engine needs a massive overhaul before you tout a game as open-world PvP.
  14. I've watched these forums for weeks and I have a level 49 assassin and a 34 marauder. I am looking for a true breakdown of cool downs for each class versus a marauder. For example some people claim they crush say trooper/mercs others say a Merc has far too many cool downs and big burst in the hands of a good player. I have learned the hard way that the marauder doesn't even get core skills like our finisher until very late in the leveling process. Hell our main strikes in two trees don't even show up until 31 point talents. So at what point do marauders become deadly? Is it Battlemaster only? Champion? Level 40+? What is our true cooldown by cooldown breakdown vs. the other classes in pvp? I mean are we one short or one long? Let's go by Anni as that seems to be the 'fotm' pvp spec except for those screaming about Carnage bieng viable.
  15. I quit once I realized it wasn't like the WoW version that was free of energy. It's not worth the rage to use it to be honest. It needs to either be 'free' or off the global and like 1 rage. But hey that saves me a keybind
