  1. It's mindboggling that people are still like "STOP COMPARING IT TO WOW" when clearly Bioware could've taken a game that millions of people have already played, paid for, and continue to pay for and used WoW's 7 years of experience to build a game in the Star Wars universe. SWTOR should've been all of the great things about WoW and been better than WoW and ESPECIALLY better than what we got. When the best and most popular thing is out there for everyone to see, allowing itself to be disseminated, putting its failures and successes on pedestals for everyone to see, then a smart person should take a look and make better decisions. Let's go the obvious route: It's a PC game. What do people like more than ANYTHING when they play PC games compared to console games? CUSTOMIZATION. MODIFICATIONS. PCs have the wonderful ability for you to make the game your own and Bioware said NO to that model. They made a console game. Your class quests are your campaign and the PVP is obviously the MMO. They played way too close to home and weren't thinking broadly enough. It really makes me sad that I have no desire at all to resubscribe even though I already threw down my $80 and tax. $15 is better spent on lunch for an hour or a movie or something and how disappointing is that.
  2. I played the game. I started to not like it. I forced myself to play the game after that. I went through a mental checklist of things that I liked. That went by pretty quick. I made the opposite list. Didn't have enough time to finish it. I'm hoping to come back to this game in a few months when the game has some more polish, some more responsiveness in PVP and just some more quality of life things, like UI scaling, a more responsive GTN with more search options, better frame rates on the fleet, and maybe different space missions? Lol. I really enjoyed space missions. It burns my butt that you have to resubscribe to get the Founder status too. How convenient of Bioware to throw that out there approximately a month after the early access people started playing. If they have to give the Founder title to people who resubscribed and not those who already paid $80 for the digital deluxe version (like myself) or the CE (like many of you) then I feel like Bioware is seeing a worrisome percentage of launch day folks or early access folks like myself who were unimpressed and are not resubscribing because the game still feels like a beta. I'm going to check back on the forums periodically, but so far the game doesn't have enough to offer and with successful MMO models out there, I'm surprised more wasn't done to really identify the and solve the little things that make the game fun when you're between quests and in your down time. Oh well. I'm confident the game will make it at the very least a year if not much longer than that, with how fast the devs are pushing out content. At least they're still passionate about expanding the game. More passionate about it than myself and a lot of others. TL;DR. Much disappoint SWTOR. I am disappoint.
  3. The only problem is that there is less and less incentive to craft purples at lower levels because it just ends up costing too much/taking too much time and when you really need it, you'll level right past it and outgear it. Why spend the time/effort for something that's going to cost more than people will be willing to pay because they will outgear it so quickly? Having RE take forever at level 50 with the highest level gear is completely and totally understandable. Having it take forever when you're level 31 trying to get a new implant is extremely lame.
  4. Purple (Rakata lv 50) http://www.torhead.com/schematic/fPfMQdp http://www.torhead.com/schematic/7e4VdBG Blue (Prototype lv 48) http://www.torhead.com/schematic/9Zadcx7 http://www.torhead.com/schematic/2DQAzgA Blues more powerful? Lol. The only thing close that can be used by non-Biochem people are http://www.torhead.com/schematic/5tsozuf http://www.torhead.com/schematic/e4DgcTu and I think the schematics for them are bugged and don't even work/exist.
  5. If that's the requirement of the guild, then I think that's an issue with the guild. Skill will always outweigh the consumables people need in end game raids. That being said though, all these people who are all "elitists are mean, blah blah blah" clearly don't understand that certain groups of people like to accomplish tasks with efficiency. If you want to wipe on a boss 30 times because you have some people who aren't willing to keep themselves alive or learn the fight, that's up to you, but if you are in a guild who wants to one shot bosses and to get the best gear in the game as fast as they can, you either put up and shut up and do what you're supposed to, or you join a casual guild and gear up in 6 months instead of 1.
  6. I don't have a lot of numbers available to quantify what I'm about to say, but I think this slicing stuff has slowed down quite a bit because people are making money. I've been slicing everyday since the nerf and from before that, and I am constantly making money. It's not anywhere NEAR what the older version used to make, but I make more than enough to buy whatever it is that I want now. Underworld Trading, Archaeology, Treasure Hunting, and such make a lot of money at the 300 and 340 mission levels for whatever reason, and by doing only Rich and Bountiful missions between levels 2-5, I am either breaking even or making more. My companions aren't affectionate at all but I am making money for sure. I am only level 35, but when I get to 50 and slicing makes garbage money, there will be dailies where I'm told you can make a lot more money with a lot less time than slicing.
  7. I finally figured out that reverse engineering is not worth it at ALL. I'd seen people say that they'd had trouble getting blue's to pop up, but in the earlier levels I could always get to prototype level with 5 or less reverse engineers which I suppose was really lucky. I'm trying to make a Prototype Advanced Stim in the 300s and I've finally reverse engineered 50 of them trying to get a prototype and still nothing. 50 normal stims would've lasted longer and been cheaper to produce than the prototype or the reusable. What a waste of mats, time, and credits, and all I have to show for it is frustration. GG.
  8. So each column of my ops frames can house 4 different people and that's what I'd prefer. Why in blazes are there 6 columns and why don't I know how to remove them? When I'm in PVP they get in the way, and when I do a 16 group op I still have two extra? Anyone know the fix for this? Where to access it in the menu if at all?
  9. that's just one of those things you'd have to look up. something like this would be too confusing because you'd need to know what armoring, mods, and enhancements you'd be getting and they vary a lot. what if a person wants surge rating instead of power or crit instead of defense? your best bet is to save the orange gear you like already and look up the armoring, mods, and enhancements that you want which pertain to your level. one enhancement could have 14 endurance and 9 defense, or it could be 13 defense and 9 endurance depending on your preference.
  10. When I really think about it, if you returned slicing to its original form, but made it so it encompassed all three of your crew skills rather than the one, this could be a fair form. If it really outperformed the other skills so much, why not make it worth more, instead of downgrading it to near uselessness? Personally, if slicing produced the amount of credits it produced week one, but I had to give up two other professions, I wouldn't do it. There'd be a lot less slicers for sure, but still those who would choose to do it due to time constraints or laziness or lack of interest in crew skills.
  11. I've been reading a lot about the slicing nerf and people qq-ing about it and there are all these other people who are like "I do my crew skills and sell the items I get from them for one billllllllllllion dollars." I encourage you to spill your trade secrets! I am understanding that Treasure Hunting and Underworld Trading at high levels that net you items can sell on the GTN for quite a bit or even be vendored for some profit. TRUTH?
  12. I think I'm going to wait until I have enough points for Salvation, but really, as far as I've seen, it's not a big deal unless my group is all knights or shadows. I am almost constantly casting deliverance and people are topped off all the time, so I haven't really had an issue with needing an AOE heal. I haven't done anything past Cademimu yet so I don't know what's ahead of me. I have plenty of respecs until they become unbearably expensive so I guess I'll play and see.
  13. Is there a hard number we have to look at for Force Armor? I'm trying to figure out when the best time would be to get Telekinetic Defense. Getting it too early is unnecessary, I get that, but I don't know when I should spec into it. I currently have 13 points in Seer and 5 points in Telekinetics. I took Preservation before Conveyance because I'm never really in a bad situation where 1 second off Deliverance will make or break the group.
  14. I've healed all the way up to Cademimu without any problems at all fully specced into Telekinetics, skipping Inner Strength and Telekinetic defense. I do keep up Concentration at all times though with Disturbance. IDK how good the Seer tree makes healing, but I feel like it hasn't been necessary so far.
  15. I don't want to sort through that 164 page thread on slicing on the original thread. Has there been any sort of GOLD POST on what's happening with slicing again?
