  1. I have to say, this has to be the most frustrating part of playing this game, the lack of details. I understand the need to tease certain things, new content, new races, new stuff. However, the introduction of a new pay system, or the previous server merger fiasco, things like this get doled out to us piece by piece, with VITAL information missing. No where does anything describe exactly how many character slots. Hell, until I saw this dev post, I had no idea these items listed in the FAQ were even limited! Your little chart is so vague as to drive someone insane, and seeking out info leads to dead-ends. I love this game's story. I have 3 50s, one high 40, a mid 20 and 3 more planned characters. I had hoped to even play more because I want to play around with dark side light side decisions. Free to Play sounded great, until I saw a possible character limitation? Is it 8? Less than 8? Inventory limitation? Where the hell is that in your compare chart? I have an honest real decision coming up about my renewal, pay or play for free. This vagueness, this controlled information control that does nothing more than basically treat your player base as unruly children who simply must wait for the adults, makes me want to shutter my account and walk away. I really like this game, and it surprises me how pissed off I am about this. I'm just upset, because despite an honest attempt by your community team to foster a positive environment, big things like this fall short again and again. Screw it, thank you, but no thanks.
  2. I don't see how anyone is really surprised by this announcement once we saw how the free transfers were going to work. I think this trickling effect is detrimental however to player morale. BW is drawing out the consolidation process and each time we get a new announcement about it, we get a new wave of people upset. If they had made the process quick, clear, and upfront about their timeline from the very beginning, I think they would at least be able to combat the negative feedback better. Just rip off the band-aid, scream a little, move on. We could be talking about any number of other things now, instead we have news cycle number 3 about server transfer, server closures, server mergers, and an angry player base. Whomever is guiding the ship on this issue is too gun shy about bad press, and is just letting the game bleed itself out on the internet rumor mill.
  3. I know that there is an uber secret space combat project, but hopefully my idea will still work with it. So now to my idea, and I apologize if it's a little rough, I kinda day dreamed about it for a few minutes and wanted to just toss the idea up here see if it sinks or swims. What if we had a series of bases scattered around the galaxy that were objectives for each faction to control? I was inspired by the idea of controlling forts waaaay back in the day of DAoC. There would be an equal number of Imperial, Republic and neutral "bases" that could be captured, controlled and upgraded. Except for the neutral bases, each would come with it's own set of guards ranging from easy to overcome (requires more player defenders to help keep it) to much harder to overcome (making it easier to defend, but harder to take). The idea is that in faction imbalance situations, the lower pop faction would always be able to have 1-2 bases, or take them back. NPC guards however only spawn for your own faction, so if you take the other factions bases, the player base is solely responsible to keep it. (This part needs fine tuning because of issues of faction balance.) Why take these bases? Control of these bases grants a passive faction wide bonus to something that has no direct connection to combat ability. Increased loot drops, credit drops rates. Perhaps decreased crafting timers or even maybe a presence bonus. Basically a worthwhile and useful effect that doesn't actually make you stronger. Quality of life issues. Maybe special vendors that sell neat but not stat-increasing items, vanity. The bases can be varied, from planets, to asteroids, to maybe even ships and starbases. Now the Space combat tie in. Besides increased defenses that the players will have to overcome, maybe the base got shields or air defenses up. Special Space missions could become available to attack the "base" to bring down those shields. Enough players do it and now you can land on the base and attack it directly. I also think we should give Guilds or even individual players some sort of recognition for being the main controller/conqueror of a base. Something as simple as Legacy Name Base or Guild Name Base would be enough. Also if we use DAoC's warning system, those players or guilds can receive an in chat warning that the base is being assaulted so they can fly there, or if the base is upgraded enough, instantly port using a new maybe Defender Pass. Just a rough idea.
  4. Wins count as two participation credits. Thus you win, you finish quest in one go. You lose, time to queue again.
  5. Dude...that would rock! Only at the same time...Magenta Lightning.
  6. Sorry missed that question. I mainly rely on dulfy.net and darthhater.com ... more so dulfy though. That girl is a treasure trove of useful info, guides, and fun random stuff. I also recommend tor-fashion.com for all your orange gear needs.
  7. 1. All Orange Pieces have the same base stats, except for armor which is only slightly different due to heavy, medium or light. Social or Adaptive gear automatically becomes the best you can use, so you don't have to compare them. 2. Almost, there are some looks that have an extra requirement to wear, I think War Hero Orange stuff has a Valor requirement. 3. Only SOME set gear bonuses transfer. I believe only the new stuff that came out with 1.2. I don't know the names off the top of my head as I have none of it. 4. Synthweavers, Armormechs and Armstechs for both. Note that each of the three can only make some of the augments, not all. All three however can make Augment Kits. 5. No clue 6. no clue
  8. That's the schtick. He supposed to be the condensing, arrogant, hipster *** giving his equal parts love/hate across MMOs in general. And his brand of funny isn't an American thing, I can understand him being an acquired taste to anyone. I don't know him personally, so I don't know how much of this is an act, or really him, but I will say, usually this type of personality feeds off people hating, putting him down, clowning him etc. Why? The simple reason is that it gets people talking about him, and checking back in, and you let him get you all worked up. On a personal note, I love him, he's quirky, weird, and a total ***, but I enjoy the show and find him hilarious usually (not every episode is a winner).
  9. They need to make the White Imperial Officer's Uniform as an Orange Set damnit! I have been fiending for it!
  10. tor-fashion.com An ongoing project of pictures of all orange gear/sets in the game headed by the most illustrious Dulfy. I recommend perusing that site for something you like.
  11. I hate when CS pulls out the rug from underneath my argument. We added the 12 member, I put my request in expecting another 2 day turn around. 10 minutes later, CS contacts me, give me credits, watches me buy tab. As they say at Staples, that was easy.
  12. Like I said, I'm not quitting over this, but one can't help but feel like this is their way of saying your problems are less important to us.
