  1. Yeah that spec you linked is almost exactly what I use. I was afraid to vanish for fear of the mob resetting or attacking another player that is nearby. On hard the dps ones have roughly 100k health that you have to fight against. No idea what they have on Nightmare, and my character is slightly undergeared for nightmare right now anyways. Thanks for the input everyone.
  2. Just finished HM EV with my scoundrel dps. The operation is fairly simple except for me on the fourth boss where each person solo's one mob. The problem lies in the fact that my classes dps revolves entirely around positioning and the boss I am supposed to solo is immune to all forms of CC. I have literally 3 skills and a dot that I use through the entire fight, stopping periodically to heal myself. The skills themselves are weak and have high cost/low dps ratios. Although I was the last one to finish my boss, our group still cleared the fight in one shot. The thing that worries me is that on Nightmare difficulty the fight will be even harder. I just wonder if the devs thought about the fact that this fight would be really difficult for classes where 90% of their dps requires them to be behind a target. My suggestion would just be for the Marauders (the bosses with the most health who the dps takes), just give them an ability which forces them to stand in one place and cast, allowing me time to slip behind and get in a few backblasts and flechette rounds.
  3. The stealth detection range being greater than aggro range is plausible but still ridiculous... If it doesn't get fixed I'm going to unsubscribe! Ok not really but everyone else is saying it to get their problems fixed so I guess it's worth a shot.
  4. OMG yes. Horribly annoying for the longest time. You eventually get used to it, but it's dumb that you have to adjust to something so silly in the first place. Try clicking through a 7ft wookie.
  5. I've been doing Hardmodes on my Scoundrel. I notice that my teammates get within a certain range of the boss and don't pull him so I think "Ok so I can go at least that far without pulling." So I'm stealthed and I walk toward my teammates... All of a sudden a weird targeting thing pops up on my head and the boss looks like he's searching for something. A couple seconds later I auto pop out of stealth and the boss aggros. I can see not allowing stealth players to get closer to a boss than someone who isn't stealthed just b/c of certain issues that could arise, but why can't I get as close as my buddies who aren't stealthed? I've noticed certain elites will automatically get me out of stealth too. WHY IS IT DOING THIS? I've been responsible for more wipes in hardmodes than the rest of my guildies combined, so now I don't stealth in hardmodes near bosses. The problem is my opener is pretty important to start off a fight with so I'd like to know if this is intentional or is a known issue.
  6. Sorry guess I didn't make it clear. I'm saying that even though they ARE fixing a lot of bugs, introducing new content brings new bugs so when the old content finally gets most of the severe bugs they will still have to work on the new content bugs and then by that time the new new content will come out and they will be behind by two contents. Run on sentences anyone?
  7. Considering how buggy the game still is I'm not sure it's a good idea to release new content until the majority of the serious bugs are dealt with. Some of the endgame is made incredibly difficult just becaue of the bugs. I'm sure there are multiple teams working on different items, but it seems obvious that the "new content team" is getting more done than the "bug squashers team." New content means new bugs and they are already behind... Am I just crazy or does this make sense to anyone else? Please no comments about the new patch fixing all the bugs. While it might fix some of the problems, it's not even going to come close to fixing all of the severe ones. As a side note: This game is far from the buggiest release I've played, it just seems like their priorities might be mixed up. Please feel free to disagree, I made this post to hear opinions.
  8. Just to clarify you can dodge the lightsaber throw. I've gotten lucky on a double throw and dodged one of them. I've also seen the tank take 0 damage on a double throw so he is obviously avoiding it. And yeah Ironfist is a pain in the hindquarters. The fight is nearly impossible to pug just because of the amount of teamwork needed in the interrupts. A guardian is super handy in the fight b/c of their 6 second cd interrupt. Just don't bring too many commandos or you're screwed since they have no dedicated interrupt skill. I do guild runs 99% of the time on hardmodes and with vent the fight is pretty simple. The knockdown he does periodically can screw up my heals, but other than that it's not a big problem. My suggestion is do Taral V or Maelstrom Prison for your dailies. The cyborg guy with the lazer shot in Maelstrom is the most fun I've ever had in a hardmode. First time we downed the instance he was enraged for over 2 minutes with us LoS'ing him around the boxes sneaking in shots when we could. Made my hands sweat a little and that's a good thing.
  9. So last week we cleared normal EV and only ran into bugs like not getting our loot or bosses respawning randomly. This week we attempt hardmode and make it to Soa before giving up because of the invisible lightning balls. But the weirdest part was on Gharj... We pulled him and literally stood there dpsing him until he hit roughly 40% before he decided to do his little ground stomp and we had to move to the next platform. When we get to the next platform and get him down to about 10% when he decides to jump ONE TIME and the entire platform disappears. There was no other platform to get to and we all died in the lava... The second time we fought him he didn't even spawn another platform we just burned him down on the original platform he starts on, making for the easiest fight in the whole operation. Just wondering if you guys have ever encountered anything like this on Gharj. Honestly though I don't care how I kill him, I just wish he would give me credit for the weekly. This is the third week and first hardmode and I've never gotten credit for it.
  10. Double saber throw is ridiculously cheap, and I'm sure they will fix it to where it can't hit the same target twice. You have to get lucky b/c his enrage is so unforgiving that if you lose a dps you can't win the fight. As far as the lightning goes... The trick is to jump. After wiping 10+ times to the lightning even though we were clearly out of the AoE, we realized that if you jump and move forward at the same time the lightning will miss you 100% of the time. Just make sure as soon as the purple crosshair pops under you, stop what you're doing and get out of it.
  11. I'm on Belgoth's Beacon which is almost always full or very heavy and there are some planets where no one is on. Quesh had 3 people last night and Hoth has like 12. Seems like 95% of the population is either under lvl 20 or is playing empire characters.
  12. @Shillen Not sure if you're joking but the class quests are stupid ez for the first 20 levels. I didn't die on a class quest until my late 30's and even then all I needed was to CC one of the stronger mobs and it was smooth sailing.
  13. The game was super fun for the first 30 levels or so. After that you really start to realize how much of the same is repeated over and over and over and over until you reach 50 and then there is hardly anything to do... I honestly want to play some other characters for the story, but I'm not sure I can make it through the general questline ever again. I'm afraid this might turn into another Rift for me. Played it for the 30 days and canceled.
  14. Pretty sure that a single instance of the planet caps out at 100 players. Therefore you actually have a very full planet. Wait till you get to Quesh and there are 5 other people logged on. I'm on one of the early servers so I always have to queue and yet I can't figure out where everyone is...
