April Producer Livestream Wrap-up
Millardkillmoore replied to EricMusco's topic in General Discussion
Reposting this since I still can't get Bioware to respond and somebody might actually read it here. This came from more than a year ago. When the hell will you guys fix the jet packs? If you're going to do QoL stuff, why ignore this? It's been proven that you were lying about fixing other jet packs. Will you actually start now? -
Half of them are broken and Bioware refuses to fix them despite the fact that some have been broken for years. They've acknowledged the bugs, but refuse to do anything about them.
-
Nice to see you're reading this thread. Any word on the broken jet packs? It's ridiculous that we've had to wait this long and no dev will speak on it no matter how much anybody asks.

Chest pieces with jet packs that work, and those that don't.

So it seems that Bioware has once again given an immediate fix for the jet pack in their newest pack, but still refuses to fix any of the old stuff. -
Class Conversation Style at last chapter...hate it.

I prefer full VO, but I can stand a silent protagonist. What's unacceptable is suddenly switching between the two. It's just so jarring and out-of-place. But Bioware will probably start using this system more and more, claiming it's an homage when it's really a cost-cutting measure, and fanboys will still eat it up. -
No. This is a complete betrayal of what they promised. I'm not going to just "get over it."
-
Only thing I can suggest is for people to keep making an issue of it. Constantly make and post in threads about how awful this "feature" is. Let Bioware know that pulling this is completely unacceptable and that full VO in this "return to cinematic storytelling" is an absolute must. This is a slap in the face sprung on us with no warning after mountains of PR lies about how cinematic the expansion was. If they realize that this atrocious new "classic conversation system" is completely hated, they might drop it.

Once again: This is not some kind of nostalgic throwback design decision. This is Bioware cheaping out on full VO. There's no way any designer would be dumb enough to think that a sudden, jarring shift to a silent protagonist would please people. It was done because of time/budget reasons and the marketers lied to you about it being some intentional homage to KOTOR. Why do you all think it was buried in one paragraph at the end of a release day blog? Bioware knows this feature is **** and is trying to convince you to put on your nostalgia goggles and ignore how awful it is.
