Being able to do other things isn't wasting time; it's better time management.

Same here. Like assaulting/shooting unarmed female NPCs. I thoroughly despised my sniper, and loved it.

There are a number of rifles with Aim instead of Cunning. Still wouldn't want to give up her off hand shield generator though.
