  1. Excellent! I'll give that a shot. Would you mind posting a screenshot to see how you mesh that with your op frames positioning?
  2. Hello! I'm pretty new to healing, and am enjoying my lowbie scoundrel. I'm only level 21, but just got Slow Release Med Pack and have been playing around with it to add into my rotation. I get the principle behind it, behind keeping it rolling, but have one big problem so far: I can't see the darn thing in my group's frame. (I use the operation-style frames.) It's just too small, and gets bounced around with all the other buffs rolling around on the person. I'm sure there are work-arounds with this, like just getting an internal sense of timing, or counting it out, or using SRMP on myself first and then refreshing others when mine is about to go off cooldown, but it seems unnecessary (especially if energy is at a premium and I don't want or need to SRMP myself in a certain scenario) and I'm sure there's some way to increase the size of the HoT icon in op frames that I'm just missing. Any help here is much appreciated. If you have a picture or video of your op-style UI as you're tracking HoTs, that'd be awesome too. Thanks! EDIT: This isn't exactly the same, but related: is there a way to pull out specific buffs to watch them? I'm thinking of course of Upper Hand. It's not nearly as big an issue right now as HoT tracking, but would be great to not have to hunt for it among my other buffs to constantly check its stacks.
  3. I hope they add in dual spec soon. Would definitely be a nice and useful feature.
  4. Was this a one-time thing, or will you be streaming at a regular time?
  5. I think of light-side/dark-side as more about inclination and personality rather than actually using the light or dark side of the force. For instance, my cyborg juggernaut is full light-side, but she still force chokes, uses force scream, and a whole helping of other dark side skills. The light sidedness seems to be more about the ends to which she directs her dark side affinity.
  6. So I've been changing up my "rotation" a bit from the one I listed earlier to something that seems more of a fluid priority list, at least as I see it now. 1) Try to keep Ravage > Shatter > Force Scream > Impale on cooldown as much as possible., hitting them in that order whenever they're up. 2) When low on rage, gain rage back by Enrage > (Saber Throw + Force Charge) > Sunder > Smash > Assault Further advice definitely appreciated. I'm in a mix of Rakata with a piece or two of Black Hole and a piece or two of Columni, getting around 1,250 on the target dummy, which is an improvement. Definitely have to work on my execution and general awareness, but this is a start.
  7. Makes sense about the spec, Creslan. What are your (or others') thoughts on the rotation/priority on Noxxic?
  8. I've been following this thread with great interest. I absolutely suck at understanding parses, and haven't seen some definitive rotation (or even definitive spec - does Rage or Vengeance parse considerably better considering comparable gear levels?) to follow. Titan in a different thread posted the following: http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=561944&page=2 "Since my main is Titan, a dps jugg using the vengeance tree, I feel I have something to contribute to this thread. This is my current spec: http://swtor.askmrrobot.com/skills/J...-8kddj282k3-2e Think of your rotation as hasing 4 different sections, after your opener (#1), sections 2 3 and 4 are in order or priority. 1) Opener 2) Ravage 3) Bleed Rotation 4) Filler rotation #1 & #2 Opener: Saber Throw, then Force Charge. Ravage: Sundering Assault, then Ravage. Bleed Rotation: Sundering Assault, Shatter, then Impale. Filler Rotation 1: Sundering Assault, Force scream, then Smash. Filler Rotation 2: Sundering Assault, Force scream, then Saber Throw, because Smash will be on cooldown. Once you get past your opener, immediately go into your Sundering Assault then Ravage. Now, you start your bleed rotation. When your bleed rotation procs Rampage (another Ravage), you go back into your Ravage rotation. After every Ravage you do, you go back into your bleed rotation. If your bleed rotation doesnt proc a ravage, you go into your Filler Rotation #1. After every Filler Rotation (#1 or #2), you go back into your bleed rotation. If your bleed rotation doesnt proc a rampage for a 2nd time in a row, you go to your Filler Rotation #2. Since its still a Filler Rotation, you go back into Bleed Rotation. Even if that 3rd bleed rotation doesnt proc a rampage, your Ravage will be off cooldown, so you go into it. Again, after every Ravage rotation, you go into your Bleed Rotation. Its of the utmost importance that you never break your rotation. If you proc a rampage on shatter, you do not break your bleed rotation and go directly into a Ravage. If rampage procs on Shatter, you still finish with impale, then you start your Ravage rotation which is casting Sundering Assault first, then Ravage. Even if you just killed a mob, keep your rotation up on the next mob. I.E. If you kill a mob with your shatter, impale on the next mob you come to, and continue the rotation. If you break your rotation, you will have rage problems, and your abilities will be on cooldown causing you to stand there like a *******. You will never go from a Filler Rotation, to a Ravage rotation. If you were to spec out of rampage and use this rotation, it would look like this: (the only difference being you would eventually run into rage problems, and have to sub an assault for an impale) Opener, Ravage Rotation, Bleed Rotation, Filler Rotation #1, Bleed Rotation, Filler Rotation #2, Bleed Rotation, Ravage Rotation." Later in the threat he suggested replacing Force Scream with Vicious Throw whenever it is available, which almost seems too low on the priority list to me. I've been using his rotation and it seems to work okay, but I'm curious what suggestions y'all might have to tweak it, or whether to not to a "rotation" in this way and just prioritize certain skills when they're off cooldown. Also, what do people think of the Noxxic rotation? http://www.noxxic.com/swtor/pve/sith-warrior/sith-juggernaut/vengeance/dps-rotation-and-cooldowns
  9. He can heal, but from what I hear (I haven't really used him) it's not as good as Quinn. Plus, if they were ever to introduce a "kill Quinn" mechanic into the game, I imagine they'd open it up for one companion in each class. Some of those are DPS and tanks, so introducing a random officer or droid to pick up the dead companion's slack would make more sense than just assuming the players will always use the ship droid.
  10. Personally, I think you should have the option to kill him. The main argument against this is that it leaves you without a healer, which lots of people would regret down the line. I'd propose this solution then: If the SW kills Quinn, give the SW a healing droid - either the ship droid souped up, or more likely just some new droid. No voiceover needed beyond "beep beep ba-doop" or whatever the generic droid sounds are. The details of the droid's look are up for debate (I personally envision it as one of those Imperial medical droids that's the standard vendor), and the details of how you get it are up for debate. I think it would make sense for higher-up in the Empire, like those Emperor's Hands guys, to compensate you for Quinn's betrayal by gifting it to you, but again, the details are up for discussions. My two cents. Wanted to kill that SOB pretty badly. EDIT: MediumD beat me to it! I agree with what she said - droid or officer, either way a generic would be better than keeping MQ. We even get to feel a bit like Vader this way, issue sudden fatal demotions. Hell, I like this! We could randomly choke our Rent-An-Officer for not healing fast enough and promote one of his poor red-shirted companions.
  11. I'm necroing this thread a little bit because I find the rotation the OP gave really helpful, and if they (or someone familiar with the rotation) is reading, I had one follow-up question: What happens if midway through your rotations, you get stopped? Whether you get stunned for a few seconds, thrown about, or your cat claws your calf and makes you spill soda on yourself, what do you do? Do filler until the Ravage section of the rotation is available and then go from there?
  12. Hello! I have 400 cybertech/UT as a 50 sniper, and all the vendor-bought schematics. My question is: where do I go from here that will be of use to me as someone who aspires to operations? Are there certain items I should work towards reverse engineering from my current schematics? Should I ignore my crafting and just buy pre-crafted from GTN? What are the primary sniper-useful cybertech I should work towards now? Thanks!
  13. Thanks for all the responses! Xemini, do you guys also have an imperial branch for alts?
  14. Hello, I'm getting back into Swtor and starting fresh on this server. I currently just have a level 19 healing scoundrel, Chagrrylt (first healer in 10+ years of MMOing, so lots to learn). I plan to make the scoundrel my main, but as I go I'm going to play a stable of alts to enjoy as much of the game as I can. I love flashpoints, questing, operations/raiding, but don't really PvP. I'm 29 years old here, if it matters. I'm looking for a guild that is friendly, relaxed, but likes to raid in some capacity though not in a hardcore server-first bleeding edge kind of way. One that's active on both the imperial and republic sides. Also, if possible, a cross-game guild would be great as I'm starting in The Secret World too, but that's not a dealbreaker. So hi!
