  1. I would have liked to see this event go on a bit longer too. I've played just about every day since early access, but life circumstances kept me away from the game during the event. I'm in the unfortunate situation that my I went out of town the day before the event started and got back home two days before it ends. Sure, I've been able to buy DNA samples off of people, but I'm still missing content since they staggered the release of quests and you need the prerequisite quests. That and I'm having trouble finding a group for the world bosses this close to the end. It's been enjoyable thusfar; shame I'll miss out on some of the quests/orange gear and likely the world boss kills/titles if I have the continued misfortune of not finding a group today. It feels like the other MMOs I've played have given players longer to experience these types of events, but c'est la vie.
  2. I agree wholeheartedly sir! I'm a keybinder, and given the chance via public forums and personal inquiry I will give a lot of reasons why I feel it's the way to go. But I will never tell somebody else that they are a bad player or suck for their decisions. Debates are fine, so long as they remain civilized.
  3. I was referencing your first post which was a) sarcastic and b) clearly directed at me, which led to this exchange. I'm not against your beliefs, but I am against the manner in which you dismissed my beliefs with sarcasm. It makes the forums and what could be helpful debates a toxic environment and nobody likes that sort of thing in the community.
  4. I'm not sure why you targeted me for your sarcasm and intentionally missing the purpose of my posts, then. I never said anybody was wrong to click- I did in fact say that if they wish to click, it's entirely up to them. I just offered valid supporting statements on why keybinding makes players better. Nothing wrong with that given the nature of this thread, so please don't act like there is.
  5. So saying "You're both wrong" is somehow better than "you're wrong" and "no, you're wrong"? Maybe I got overzealous in my endorsement of keybinding, but arguing that people shouldn't argue is a bit silly. At least in my debate I tried to contribute some legit examples, metaphors and reasoning on why I feel the way I do instead of taking up space.
  6. What about abilities that aren't on the GCD? Every class has them. If you want to use two abilities at once, it's very easy to push two keys at once, but impossible to click two places at the same time. Edit: Dude above me beat me to the punch
  7. You're just a cranky human being, it sounds like. This isn't some kind of philosophical debate where there is no correct answer - it's a simple physical matter of there are two ways to do this, and one of them is faster and more efficient. Again, I'm not saying i'd sling insults at somebody that wants to click, but they can't deny that the alternative is just a better system.
  8. Even if that were the case and you can click all of your specific abilities completely blindfolded (kudos to you if you can), there are more issues, such as speed. Moving your mouse across the screen to click multiple abilities will never be as fast as pushing keys, and that's just science. Multiple inch wrist motion to fraction of an inch finger motion from multiple fingers.
  9. At this point I've got to think that you're just trolling me because nobody can be that dense to miss the point of the 'eyes closed' thing. Closing your eyes is to having your eyes on your mouse cursor instead of where they need to be is to if you aren't looking where you should be, then you might as well have your eyes shut. Now you go with your one hand tied behind thing.
  10. The difference is that your example has no metaphorical application, whereas mine does. Closing your eyes translates to not having your eyes where they need to be, as a clicker often doesn't due to tracking the mouse cursor. Tying one hand behind my back translates to...? What exactly? In most cases you are right; as there is no one solution that is going to work for everybody. However, in this particular case, clicking is just an outright handicap comparatively. You wouldn't show up to a war with a pocket knife. Could you kill someone with a pocket knife? Sure. Is using a rifle a better idea? Yep. No matter how good a clicker is, he'll be better if he keybinds. Are there clickers that are better than keybinders? I'm sure. But someone that is good as a clicker will be even better if he binds. There are reasons that keybinding is better. There are no reasons that clicking is better other than "it's what I'm used to", which is easily fixed.
  11. Obviously not if you think that playing with your eyes closed was the point. The point was that your eyes aren't where they should be because they're following the mouse cursor to the ability that needs to be clicked. Unless you were just making a joke by saying 'rarely', humorously implying that you do in fact close your eyes at times in which case I apologize for missing the joke In any case if you click and are comfortable doing it, then by all means. It's your $15/mo. There's just a large case to be made for the fact that keybinding will make you a better player.
  12. You missed the point entirely.
  13. Close your eyes. Use all of the abilities you would cycle through in PvE and PvP in rapid succession. If you accomplished this as a clicker, I congratulate you on either being lucky or a ninja. As a keybinder, this wasn't hard for you at all because your muscle memory knows exactly where all of your abilities are. The point is that a keybinder can use his abilities in rapid succession while turning his attention to other things. SoA's lightning balls, the pesky healer that needs to be CC'd, the dude that stealthed way off in the distance on his way to cap the left side. Whatever the case may be, having awareness in an MMO is the single best quality you can have, no matter if your flavor is PvE or PvP. Keybinding allows you to have more awareness as you don't need your eyes to track your mouse cursor to the correct ability that you want to click on. It's kind of like, do you watch your fingers while you type? Of course not, you watch the monitor to see what you're doing. Similar principle applies - you don't want to have to watch your mouse cursor, you want to watch the game to see what's going on. I'm not going to crap all over a clicker and tell them that they suck, but I will tell them that if they switch to keybinding, it will make them a better player.
  14. Yes, HiB and FA are not tech abilities - but if we keep stacking accuracy to the ranged cap, we go OVER the cap on our tech accuracy, making accuracy over 108% tech only 'half useful' when compared to other stats. At the end of the day we don't know how much DPS we gain for going over the 108% accuracy mark vs stacking stats like crit/surge/power which are useful for ALL of our abilities. We won't know for sure until we have a combat log, but the current brains and mathheads are saying that going over 108% tech isn't as useful, and I will trust them until we have more hard data in 1.2. Bioware also hints at this in their recent comments regarding the fact that Rakata gear is over itemized on accuracy.
