  1. You don't really need to use cover at all as a scoundrel. Look at your skills like Quick Shot, Dirty Kick etc hardly any of them require cover. Cover is mainly for gunslingers but you can use it as an "Oh Shi..." button to duck behind cover and avoid damage.
  2. Even if this were true let's play the fun game of "Which class has mirrored abilities that are considerably stronger than their counterpart?" I'd take the extra damage over being able to shoot backwards any day.
  3. Nice guide. I've been using this build thanks to Phottek's guide linking to it and have to say since I passed 14 and got used to my rotation for quest mobs I've had a lot more fun with the class. Also I could be mistaken but I think I saw you running about the same server as me (Basilisk Droid EU). Either that or just someone with the same name.
  4. Important yes. Entirely relevant? Debatable. Just because a particular class role worked one way in one game doesn't mean it's going to be the same in every game. WoW still releases enough new content that if people want to go back to playing their old style they can. I'd rather not play WoW with a Star Wars skin.
  5. I'm really on the fence about this. Most of the time in a group with 1-2 strong mobs and normals I have no problem but do take quite a bit of damage which is no problem thanks to the self heal. On the other hand some solo boss mobs that theoretically should be doable seem way too hard. Just using Korriban as an example the bloodies skull quest beast absolutely owned me until I got Vette at which point it went down easy and this was at equal level and IIRC it was only classed as a strong mob not elite. I've had zero problems with normal mobs so far though. Force Charge, Smash and a few vicious slashes (I think or whatever the default rage builder is at low levels) and any old combination finishes off packs of 3-5 normal mobs fine. Even with a strong or two in there as long as I have Vette they go down within seconds of the normal mobs. Not tried tanking properly yet but I did a bit in the last beta weekend and we do seem to have some threat issues even when in the tank stance. I don't think AoE threat is the problem as much as the lack of a ranged threat builder. There are so many ranged mobs in the game that it seems like Smash and our other AoE abilities just don't have the range needed to keep threat on them.
  6. And hopefully they never will. I don't want to be running flashpoints and ops only to find out that my tank/healer is playing an off spec if crappy gear. Also for people asking from what I saw in beta AoE tanking isn't as viable since you have a lot less melee mobs than WoW.
  7. 1) Watching the nerd rage on the forums. 2) Play Skyrim i.e exactly what I've been doing the day since it came out apart from two days of the Old Republic stress test. 3) Get prep work done for my RPG group. 4) Watch the Yogcast streaming TOR.
