  1. It's not that I can't accept the technical glitches (I mean, I've survived SWTOR for this long...) it's the attitude of "oh, you lost millions of credits? Sux bro" that's driven me away. Their response to something like this is 100% in their control.
  2. I've stuck with BW through thick and thin, but immediately unsubbed upon reading this post. Absolutely pathetic.
  3. Just to keep this thread going- I also agree that a simple change along the lines of decreasing reload/lock-on times for missiles would go a long way to helping strikes out. A range/accuracy buff for primaries would be great as well- perhaps having the T1s and T2s differ in that regard would be good for differentiation.
  4. yeah, we (the "burger crew") are thinking of moving to the Harbinger as well, basically just for the faster Q's. We do all have Imperial alts we play as well now when none of the Imperial regulars are around.
  5. yeahhhh if we could get a dev in here to explain how thermites work, that'd be great
  6. Yeah if someone could clarify just how the thermite torpedo works, that'd be great since I'm at a bit of a loss.
  7. At the moment, with it being so easy for everyone to break locks the ion missile is weak with its 11s reload, but come the next patch it may start to see some use.
  8. Obviously haven't read it all yet, but this looks awesome. Great work man.
  9. I enjoy it quite a bit. Obviously there are things I'm not a big fan of, particularly RNG elements such as evasion, but I've come to get used to them. Admittedly, it would be hard for a scout-type ship to exist without something like that. Those that hate it are probably just bad at it and don't have the patience to improve. It is something that's much more fun as a group- but isn't all PvP? I'm not sure there are many people who love solo Qing WZs. Perhaps it's that there are some classes at least that can solo in a WZ quite well, whereas in GSF (with the exception of a good scout pilot maybe) you're going to need help from your friends and it's a much less predictable environment. I think GSF has a lot of potential and I hope it picks up steam. I understand that no one likes being farmed as they're learning, but a bigger player base would help that. If there's only one game going on, chances are a lot of those guys are gonna be vets. Three things I think would help: 1) Cross Server Queues- apparently this is for some reason impossible for BW to do, but if they ever did, it would help the GSF game in particular 2) Some type of PvE GSF play. The tutorial is useless. Ground based PvP would be awful if the first time you got to really use your character was in the middle of a huttball match. I mean really, just replace the current PvE rail space missions (which are awful) with a similar thing in the GSF environment. I can't imagine that would be too hard to do. 3) Related, tie GSF to the ground game more. Maybe better experience/credit gain, but at least reputation/armor from it.
  10. I'd love to have retros, but I actually like Koio turn too. Especially with the poor turning on strikes, the ability to do a quick 180 and boost out of there can be useful. I also find it less suicide-y than Barrel Roll, once you get the hang of it.
  11. If I remember correctly, the Pike can't use retro thrusters. I've been curious about the EMP missiles. What's the actual radius of their explosion? And what is a system ability anyways? I've noticed when I get hit EMP'ed I can't switch missiles personally.
  12. I actually have both protons and concs fully upgraded. I agree that protons can be great, but I feel like good pilots with good ships can avoid them so easily. It will probably be better in 2.7 with the nerf to engine abilities. I have thought about giving cluster/conc a try- but if I'm going to try to make close(ish) range my optimal range, I might as well go with the Star Guard I feel like.
  13. Even after spending ~50k req on my Pike I still feel like it performs pretty badly. Against a half-decent team I probably do 2x better in a near-stock Star-Guard and 5x better in a near-stock Flashfire. Now don't get me wrong, proton torpedoes are great for blowing the 12 year-olds who wanted to give GSF a try out of the sky, but the missile-centric build seems to be all but useless against a good team with some decent ships. A gunship can easily escape you, or if he wants- smack you down from a distance reliably (you have neither the agility nor the evasion of a scout). Trying to out-dogfight scouts is futile, and good luck using your missiles against their multiple missile breaks and excellent agility and speed. The Pike seems good at taking out bombers on paper- but good luck getting your 4s proton lock on a bomber buzzing around a satellite, and if ever a decent bomber puts himself in an unsupported position in TDM to get protoned I can only assume it's because an errant Dorito has jammed his keyboard. Also, let's not forget that flying straight enough for 4s to keep a target in the narrow proton arc is just asking to eat an ion cannon, so even if you do have a shot, you better hope there are no gunships in 15000m. So what is the Pike's niche exactly? Is there something I'm missing with it? Despite it being my favourite to fly, I no longer do if it's not an easy game because a good pilot/ship will just wreck it.

    WZ XP nerfed

I also noticed a drop with 2.0. I had only been back for a week or so though so I didn't have much to go on. But yeah, as far as I know, no official word on an xp-nerf from BW.
