  1. The Empire that appears in this game is the Sith Empire (to the best of my knowledge.) The one that Sidious creates is the Galactic Empire, which is suppose to be a revival of this empire. The reason I believe it is not considered the Sith Empire is because this game takes place before the institution of the rule of two set in place by Darth Bane some 1,000 years before The Phantom Menace. If anyone has any corrections to this please enlighten me.
  2. What nonsense? It's very simple to understand. A gathering skill is most productive through GATHERING. Not by doing missions. Lol. It's not something I created. This is how it has always been in all MMO's. This MMO is really the first one (to my knowledge) to introduce the mission method which IMO....(notice I am claiming that this is in fact JUST my opinion) Is just a means to continue to do a gathering/crafting skill while you're busy doing something else or can't find the nodes etc etc. What I don't understand is how you can pretty much acknowledge that I am right yet continue to try and argue your case.
  3. You're simply arguing for the sake of arguing at this point. I can't help you if you think that facts are debatable lol. A gathering skill is a gathering skill is a gathering skill. Lol. Good luck and fair...space? my friend.
  4. The reason why it is a problem is because it heavily inflates the in-game economy. If a new player comes along and wants to buy anything he will not be able to because established players will have just big pockets that the prices for anything low-level will be comparable to the average amount of available money. To explain further, Lets say that they changed it back. Everyone would have millions and millions of credits. Those players would create alts and they would fund their alts with their extremely rich mains. Crafters would sell their good for ridiculous prices because they would know that the general player would have a main with lots of money. Suddenly a legitimately new player would not be able to afford the simplest of thing. Regardless of what is, or has been done to slicing there will always be goldsellers. they will just sell their gold for different, proportionally equivalent prices.
  5. 1. I have some supporting information and you have none. If you can't provide anything to debunk my source, or provide one of your own then there is no reason to discuss this further. 2. I agree that the gathering missions for other gathering resources is maybe slightly more profitable than slicing, but this still doesnt change the fact that slicing is a GATHERING skill so it should be treated as such. Whenever I do gathering missions with my crew skills I don't make a profit. Source? personal experience. Reason? They intend the mats gathered from these quests to be used as supplementary to actual crafting skills. 3. There has been no nerfing of node availability. The cause of the shortage is the surplus number of slicers in the world now with the nodes constantly being consumed. 4. Simply stating that "other people are saying so and so" does not make it fact.
  6. 1. An unofficial source is better than any sources you have provided (which is none) 2. Of course the schematics are rare, even with other gathering skills the chance of finding anything of value is small. 3. You're still ignoring the fact that you make a profit from it by gathering from nodes.
  7. This is taken from http://www.swtorcrewskills.com "Slicing gives you the ability to "hack" into secured computer systems and also lockboxes to retrieve and steal information and blueprints. These can act as "Recipes" to create items through your crafting crew skills" This is what you get from slicing. The purpose of slicing as a gathering skill is to produce a small return of credits but its main purpose is to provide schematics for other skills. It's an auxillary skill.
  8. I haven't let myself be taken over by anything. I just understand how it's suppose to work. I don't know where you get your facts but missions for Archaeology and Treasure hunting rarely produce a profit outright. Most of the time they return cheap mats that are needed to produce other goods. Yes you can sell those mats to a vendor and pretty much break even but thats only because these crafting skills are intended to contribute to other skills. Slicing as you say, is not intended to contribute to anything and is suppose to be a stand alone gathering skill. The answer is staring you in the face. The missions are meant to be a method of gaining levels without nodes. You have to pay for it, and you rarely get a profitable return from it....just like other gathering mission skills (i.e. archaeology, and treasure hunting). The way that you really make money through slicing is by accessing nodes. Plain and simple.
  9. It doesnt change the fact that it is a GATHERING skill. That is what is known as a key-word. You make money by gathering nodes. That is how it is/was intended to function. If someone can't understand that then I don't know how to explain it any further. People complaining about their ability to understand semantics is not going to make the skill go back to the way it was.
  10. I dont get why people keep calling it a "hole to throw money into". It's just like any other gathering skill now. You run missions at a cost to get mats and levels and you get free mats from nodes. It's no different from any other resource garnering crew skill now. If you think that it's just a money sink now then you must think that all crafting is for getting rid of excess credits as well. I think the problem is that people thought that it was suppose to be a stand alone skill and it's sole purpose was to be a money tree so to speak.
  11. Well, a lot of the jedi combat styles and weapons are drawn from samurai. Ataru form, Soresu, Shienn (spelling?), Juyo form. Etc etc. Jedi itself is even an asian word if I'm not mistaken.
  12. I just feel like there are so many different weapon types that they arent exploring. Lightwhips, Guard Shoto, Long-bladed lightsabers, Light-spears/pikes. Even 2 handed claymore type lightsabers. And things like curved hilt (which I believe did make it into the game) and reverse grip. These things are more or less for aesthetic appeal mainly. But I feel like they would provide bigger avenues for character customization.
  13. I just re-read my OP and realized that this has horrible grammar. I am at work and it is 5 am. Please excuse my terrible english LMAO.
