  1. I'll say as someone who greatly enjoys Powertech that I can't enjoy Vanguard nearly as much. The animations are underwhelming and often non-existent/different colored particles shooting out of your gun. Mortar volley has no oomph to it like death from above does. Our charge feels like it has a lot more force behind it. We have mother****ing SHORYUUUUKEEEEN whereas Vanguards slap people with their butts (of their guns lol) Not to mention random pistol syndrome in cutscenes, whereas I'm quite familiar with the pistol showing up in my powertech scenes, considering it's my weapon that I always use. While the class is certainly mechanically enjoyable, aesthetically it's incredibly lackluster.
  2. Not really. The Sith teach that the Force is a tool to be used by those powerful enough to bend it to their will. Kreia's teachings are more about how the Force is not the tool, but it is in fact those using it that are the tools of the Force and that ultimately, the Force was master over any who wielded it, Jedi or Sith. This is both why she respected and even promoted self-sufficiency without needing the force (one of the few nice things she ever says to Atton Rand), and why she actually wanted to destroy the Force itself. To Kreia, the Force was a slave master, or a prison overseer. I even think she calls it a malevolent deity in the game. Kreia wanting to destroy the Force is the main reason why Sion and Nihilius turn on her (besides the fact that they are sith and it's sort of a sithy thing to do)
  3. Old player from launch returning, considering rolling here but have a few questions: 1. What's the population balance like? 2. What's the RP scene like on each faction? 3. What's the PvP scene like on each faction?
  4. Hey there. Founder from the launch of the game coming back after...basically near around the launch of the game. Rolling Imp and was wondering a few things: 1. What's the wpvp scene like here, as it's something I'm quite into. 2. Are there places where Imperial role players regular hang out for tavern RP? 3. What the general RP scene is like, in particular to the Imp side of the server but also for both factions as well.
  5. The two most common suggestions are to go either scavenging/cybertech/underworld to create your own mods and armoring for orange gear, which allows you to save commendations for enhancements, or to go slicing/scavenging/*insert profit skill here* to make creds. With the former, you also get to gear up your alts with this method as well, as long as you find adaptive armor for them before hand.
  6. Won't happen any time soon. We don't look cool, we aren't very flashy, and our numbers really aren't big. Just consistent and constant. Sin/Shadows, Ops/Scroun, and Sorc/Sage will be nerfed before anything else. And if you check the Ops forums, many of them are saying that the "nerf" they just got is a blessing in disguise. Our AC is overtuned though, but it matches with the fact that proper tanking of damage from certain attacks is undertuned.
  7. Not correct all the time. Mako is by far the most finnickey companion in this game as for as affection gains, but I like her for that sometimes. Makes her deeper. For example, she supposedly doesn't like support of the empire. But in situations where you take a job for them, and have the option to betray the empire for more money, or a light side choice, you sometimes get a negative, and you sometimes get a positive. It's almost random at times. She dislikes the empire, but likes being professional. She likes credits, unless you're being too cruel. Really, she's very "grey". My BH is dark side generally and kills people most of the time given the chance unless I get more money for keeping them alive, she still loves me. Accept that mako is a naive bleeding heart who is too innocent for the job she is in (and why Braden never brought her out on the job), but is not always straight black and white.
  8. Agreed with the above. I would move those 2 points into the 2% dmg reduc for ion charge. Stacking armor only helps against 2 of 4 damage types, and your shields already help with those damage types. The dmg reduc will help against all 4 types of damage.
  9. My main is a powertech. Pretty much what the guy above me said. As a powertech, I've dominated objective points, crippled healers, protected our healers, and hit stuff. Usually top of the BG in medals unless I choose to go pure damage and not care about winning. I've managed to hit top of the damage charts. And I'm a level 28 shield tech powertech. Powertech is fun. We're very mobile and can engage the enemy at any distance. I wouldn't switch classes for anything else.
  10. So wait. People who work to get PvP oriented gear and beat people who haven't gotten it makes the PvP bad? If those players are so bad, you're so good and it's easy to get the gear...then why not just get the gear?
